It was a real convenient stay. We stopped for our own groceries on our way, but aside from that, the house was fully stocked with everything you would possibly need plus a lot of bonus items. The hot tub, steam shower, giant blueberry and raspberry patches, and apple orchard on the enourmous property were really nice and took our stay to the next level.
We all agreed that the blueberries were the best we’d ever had.
While it was nearly impossible to get cell reception, The Wi-Fi worked incredibly well, but to be in such a beautiful house on such a magnificent property, so far removed from any hustle and bustle… Wi-Fi was the last thing on our minds. We didn’t even use the firestick or Netflix account- just being there, enjoying nature with friends and family was perfect.
It was too hot to use the wood stove inside and we didn’t get a chance to use the fire pit outside (such a shame- it’s so unique!), but there was plenty of seasoned firewood up for grabs.
If we HAD TO complain about something, it would be that upon arrival the house was a bit stuffy, but within an hour of opening all of the windows and doors (the house is pretty much constructed of windows- it’s incredible), the air was flowing through the house beautifully and it cooled off quickly. There were even a few fans in the basement that we brought up to the loft. The basement (where the 2nd bathroom & steam shower are located) by the way, remains ridiculously cool, even on the hottest days- so if all else fails, you could always take a breather down there!
I can’t say enough good things about the house. I will say however that as a small family of people over 40, Verbo’s cleaning fee seems excessive. I wish they would consider returning a deposit when houses are left in the condition in which they were found; as we did, except that we stripped the beds and put all linens in the hamper as requested, and washed all of the dishes we used, just as we of course disposed of the garbage and recycling properly. That has nothing to do with the property though, that’s Verbo.
