Very nice/clean home!
We had a combined family weekend and the house was exactly what we needed as far as space. There were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for us. We all also had a seat to eat meals between the two tables that are there. Home was very clean and as listed.

AFTER CHRISTMAS FAMILY GET TOGETHER
Enjoyed our stay at Shiloh House. Perfect for our group of 13. Communication with host was easy and response time was great. Check in was easy and the house was clean. First comment I got when we arrived was "the view is amazing". Convenient to town and area sights with plenty of room just to hang out at the house when we wanted to.

Another Great Visit
This is the fourth time our group has stayed at Shiloh and we have every intention of returning again. The house is clean and I did notice several upgrades since our last visit two years ago, making our time there even better than before. The view is amazing and the entire weekend left us relaxed and happy.

We had our family of 13...8 adults and 5 children. It rained all weekend, but we had plenty of room and Christmas crafts for the kids to stay entertained. We watched the SEC championship and the TV was perfect! We really enjoyed our stay!

Loved this place!
We loved everything about this property. Most importantly we felt safe, clean and comfortable. Hoping to come back in the fall. The view was beautiful and peaceful. Great proximity to towns and activities, but still off on its own. I can’t say enough good things about this place. The last half mile of the drive, which is mentioned in other reviews, is intimidating at first but VERY DOABLE even for people not used to mountains. Its paved nicely the whole way.

What a view!
First and foremost the view was amazing. Sitting in the hot tub or in the deck the view was stunning. With that said, the drive up the mountain was steep, but very doable and got easier each time. The house was stocked with all of the essentials you would need for the week. Only issue we had was that some of the closet doors were off track. Everything was as expected. Definitely considering a future stay!

Awesome view!
We had an awesome stay at Shiloh. The house was clean and the view was awesome. There was 7 of us and there was plenty of room for everyone. We had an incident with some hornets when we first arrived but within 30 minutes of my email being sent the exterminator was there to take care of the problem. I was very impressed with the response time and the exterminator was an awesome guy who checked the entire property to ensure there were no more issues during our stay. The roads leading to the house were steep and a little challenging but the view is definitely worth it! We would definitely stay again!

Perfect Family Vacation
This location was awesome! The views and privacy could not be matched. As said in other reviews, the final part of the drive is VERY steep. We came in for the first time at dark - I would recommend doing that during the daylight if possible. The kitchen was well stocked. The hot tub was a highlight - such a beautiful serene view. Our family of 10 had plenty of room to spread out. The gated deck was perfect for children and dog. The only thing I would suggest the owner look at is a creaky bed downstairs. We would stay again!

14-17 October 2022 stay at Shiloh House
This a very quiet location with a great view. It is worth staying here just to be able to see the white "ghost" dog standing in the middle of the road when you turn the corner. All 6 members of my group gasped when we turned the corner and there he was. I slept easy Fri, Sat, and Sun nights knowing that he was down there serving as a neighborhood guard. Here are a couple of observations, some of which have been previously listed: 1. I was looking for small leaf blower. I called the maintenance person and he said he would come over and do it. I told him it was not that big a deal not to worry about it. It would nice if there was a leaf blower in the garage for use by visitors especially when leaves are falling. 2. The sliding door to the driveway balcony was broken and the sliding door going to the mountain view works but could be taken off of the track and lubricated. 3. The walk in closet in the left king bedroom smelled like a dog was sleeping in there but it was actually the smell from the vacuum cleaners being stored there. 4. The kitchen was great but some of the pots and pans could be updated. There was more than enough dishes and utensils for a group of 6. 5. There could be a better distribution of dressers. A couple of the rooms had hotel-style suitcase stands but no other place to lay out clothes. 6.. The night before we left on 17 Oct 2022, there was a pretty good wind and rain storm in the area. On our way out, there was a blown down tree blocking the road at the switchback turn. It took us 30 minutes to to cut some branches off using Leatherman tools before we could drag the main trunk over enough so we could drive on through. I have been at mountain homes at least 10 times and never thought of this happening. Due to the narrow road, this issue can be a show stopper. From now on I will bring an axe, hatchet, machete, and small bow saw for cutting limbs if a road is blocked.

My thoughts on our stay
Overall I can say that it was a good stay. There were a few things that bothered us. To begin with, getting a hold of the property owner was impossible through sending a message. If you need to ask something, call. The down stairs was freezing at night. They have heaters on the wall, but we could never get them to warm up or begin to know how to control them. They need to have directions on how to run them. We were sitting on the couch watching tv one night and we had a mouse run under the couch. That most definitely needs to be addressed. Other then all that, our stay was good. The view was beautiful and the cabin was nice and clean.

Awesome Cabin/Challenging Road
We had awesome long weekend in the mountains. The cabin was spacious. The views were breathtaking. Every couple had their own suite. We used the hot tub everyday. It was so relaxing after riding motorcycles on the Blue Ridge Parkway and various other areas. We would recommend the cabin but the road is very challenging.

Perfect for snow in weekend
Wanted to see some snow in the Mountains and this did not disappoint! Kitchen is well equipped for all basic cooking. It could use a bigger fry pan and maybe griddle for pancakes but it was everything we needed: coffee pot, Keurig and I think I saw an espresso maker. Plenty of space, rooms to lounge and watch snow fall enjoy family. No TVs in bedrooms which was perfect to bring everyone together. The mountain view from almost every room is spectacular! The pictures on listing do not do this property justice. The yard is flat with a sloping backyard rolling into the mountain. Lots of room to play and in my case attempt a snowman. Loved this property so much that I am planning another trip with family!

Needs Deep Clean n Decorating
First, the view really is amazing! The drive is a bit steep and windy so arrive during daylight, preferably with 4WD/AWD. The owner isn't into welcome packages, nice touches, or interior design, but all the big ticket items work: new heat/air, gas fireplace (never ran out of gas), spa, plenty of hot water, big fridge w working ice maker. Although we only used spa once, it was nice. My adult children (20s) were a bit creeped out sleeping downstairs the first couple of nights, but once we got settled in all was fine. The kitchen ceiling has a moldy/dirty look and needs to be scrubbed w a fresh coat of paint. I scrubbed the kitchen cabinets around stove which had a thick residue. (There were plenty of pots and pans). I bought a lot of pointsettas, room fresheners, etc from the Wal Mart (short drive away) to spruce things up, along with kitchen garbage bags (none were provided) and all paper products. Ultimately, we really loved the location and central proximity to the Smokies and the Biltmore, and had a great time with our family for Thanksgiving. We have mixed feelings about renting again.

Beautiful views but needs some maintenance
Shiloh House was as described - has amazing views and was perfect for our group of 9. However, there are some maintenance issues that need attention : one sliding door must have been broken for some time (note not to open it present so it was known), railings around hottub need repair (also known as others have commented about this before), porch swing needs repairs (one side of the armrest comes loose when you try to use it), we had issues with an alert on the heating system (left a note), need larger pans in kitchen... Big groups will have the same struggles we did with the 2 small frying pans to cook breakfast, and need to address sliding door to porch that is working - drags and very hard to slide. Make sure you arrive in daylight as the roads up are not easy to maneuver. Overall, we had a good time.
