Girls getaway week

We stayed for 3 nights and couldn't have been happier. Bruce, the host, was very helpful and readily available. The cabin is beautiful and very centrally located, yet private and secluded at the same time. We would love to come back again. Wonderful trip for sure!

Best trip ever!

My friends and I stayed in Empire for three nights and had the best experience. The cabin was very clean and nicely decorated. Bruce was also an amazing host and made us all feel at home. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful stay in Empire.

Wonderful property!

We booked Bruce’s cabin for a trip to celebrate my daughter’s 16th Birthday. It was very comfortable and well appointed. We loved the dock for coffee in the morning and fishing in the evening. The best part though was watching his Labrador do zoomies around the property. Thanks for a great stay!

Better in person!

This cabin was even better than the pictures online. 15-20 minutes from Dunes and shopping/restaurants. It rained one day on our trip, and this cabin provided us with a relaxing and comfortable place to chill.

Little Slice of Heaven

There have been a few occasions where we've stayed at a place where the pictures were better than the real thing. However, this was not the case. The cabin was beautiful, spacious, and very clean. The property was stunning and peaceful. What topped it off was that Bruce was very accommodating and hospitable. We definitely would love to come back! Great stay!

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property. The grounds were immaculate, and the setting very peaceful. Great location with an east drive to the dunes, several hikes, beaches and Empire, Glen Arbor and Traverse City. We met Bruce, the owner, one morning and he was very friendly and gave us suggestions for hiking, restaurants and beaches. Would highly recommend!

Comfy/Cozy A-Frame Log Cabin

This is a perfect place if you like the woods, rolling hills, gorgeous sunrises and sunsets, beautiful small towns with quaint shops & restaurants, etc. This cabin is sizeable, perfect for 2 to 4 people. Very clean, nicely decorated, comfortable (& great TV/sound system), good location, everything we wanted. Thanks Bruce & Luna -- we love your place!

It was a nice quiet cottage located up north.

The cottage was very nice and it had a great view overlooking a small lake. A nice quiet cottage off the beaten path. We would definitely recommend to future travelers who want to experience an "up north adventure.

Very clean beautiful chalet-style cottage. Great location to launch from while exploring the Leelenau Penninsula. Wall controls for lighting and overhead fan not labeled, resulting in some difficulty figuring things out. No Wi-Fi available, or at least not communicated to us if it was present.

Just beautiful!

Absolutely loved our five days at the cabin. It sits on a beautiful piece of property and Bruce couldn't have been more of a gracious host. The cabin has everything you need and then some. Looking forward to renting the cabin in the future. As my family and I just loved the area in and around the Sleeping Bear Dunes. Thanks again.

Fantastic property and experience!

We had a wonderful 4-night stay. The carriage house is super safe and very clean and comfortable for a small family like ours. We enjoyed private off street parking and access to a fishing pond (catch and release), bbq grill, and fire pit. Water pressure in the shower is good and the kitchen is equipped with all the basics. The property is centrally located to numerous beaches, golf, hiking trails, and restaurants. The property owner is a fantastic person who was easy to work with, as well. Definitely an excellent experience in every way.

Perfect getaway

We had a wonderful time staying in the coachhouse. When we walked in, we instantly said “it’s perfect.” It had everything we needed to cook dinners and other meals. Nice small lake out back for fishing, fire pit for roasting hot dogs and s’mores. And it was so close to everything. We went to multiple beautiful beaches, sand dunes, etc. best of all, the owner who lives in the main house next door, Bruce, was very friendly and helpful, and gave us tips to get to the best beaches! We will definitely be staying there again!

The Epitome of Perfect Experience

This property/owner should be in your advertising. This is the exact reason people should chose listings like this as opposed to “corporate” hotels/locations. Host was super friendly and responsive. Property was beautiful, cozy, and impeccably cleaned. Being our first VRBO experience I am afraid Bruce (property owner) has set the bar too high for others. Bravo!!

Wonderful place in a great location

This was a very clean and comfortable place. It has all the amenities we required and it's set in a beautiful location. We enjoyed using the firepit and attempting to catch fish from the dock in the lake. If you're looking for a quiet, peaceful getaway, this is it. It wasn't a big deal for us, but there is no WiFi; that's perfect when you want to unplug and unwind. Bruce (the owner) is very friendly and helpful. He had plenty of advice for things to do and provided directions to a nice quiet beach area. He keeps the property clean and in order. The property is ideally situated. We could get to just about everything we wanted to see or do in 30 minutes or less. You can easily hop over to Traverse City, up the Leelanau Peninsula, over to Empire, or down to Frankfort. Everyone in the family enjoyed staying here. We highly recommend it.

Quick trip to MI

I made a mid summer reservation with this property and could not have been more pleased! The host, Bruce, was quick to respond to messages and greeted us immediately upon our arrival. He showed us in to the coach house and gave great tips on where to spend time away from the house. The space was extremely clean and property very well kept. Although the coach house is relatively close to the road, DONT let it fool you! Parking is available as well, we had 2 cars and was perfect. We heard zero road noise and had fantastic nights sleep! 15 min to surrounding towns and activites. We did a little cooking, kitchen is stocked to make meals if you wish. Temp of the space was perfect, ceiling fan and air conditioning. Cleanliness? 10 out of 10 stars. Not a spec of dust anywhere. Bathroom was spotless as well. Hands down, would def rent again. We’ve stayed at plenty of hotels, rentals etc in the area for the past 14 years and Bruce has made every effort to make sure our stay was pleasant and relaxing. Will be back for sure!

Beautiful stay

If you’re trying to decide if you should book this, absolutely do it !! My fiancé and I stayed for a long weekend and this little cabin was perfect!! It felt very private and had an absolutely stunning view of the lake that we could not stop staring at. The details from the lamps to the wooden stools, the dimmable lighting, it was too cute. We met Bruce and his grandson briefly as we packed up to leave and they were very sweet. We absolutely hope to go back again!! Thanks for a wonderful weekend! (Also we went in the fall and the colors over the lake are unmatched, absolutely beautiful!)
