After driving for six hours with small children, we arrived to the condominium only to find a cleaning crew still working. Apparently they did not know we were coming. While the owner did reimburse us a $120 cleaning fee, I would have rather arrived and been able to unpack and relax. This did not start off our stay very well. You could not get into the bathrooms or bedrooms to take care of things. In addition, the icemaker had not been set to on, so there was absolutely no ice in the freezer. We had stopped by a Walmart on the way to the island to pick up a pre-ordered grocery purchase so that we would not have to do any more shopping. Unfortunately, we noticed that there was no coffee provided for the guests. I have traveled many times, and owned two VRBO rentals in Fredericksburg, Texas, and I have never experienced a place that did not provide coffee for the guests. In addition to that, there was only shampoo and conditioner in the bathrooms. There was no body soap whatsoever, so we had to add that to our grocery list. The cleaning service only provided three dishwasher pods, which was not enough for our stay. I could go on, but all I can say is be sure you think of every single little detail as far as kitchen goods go before you stay here, or do your shopping AFTER you arrive and take inventory.
