We loved Sandy Cheeks!!

The property is perfect! Exactly as described in the listing. Location was very close to the beach. Well equipped all around with kitchen and beach supplies. Hot tub was very nice after a long day at the beach. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!!

Great Juune Stay at Sandy Cheeks!!

Everything was great! Super location and super price! Enjoyed the area and restaurants plus all the house ammenities. A bit warm upstairs, but cooler in the evenings for sleeping. Host provided wonderful information and was very kind! Highly recommend Sandy Cheeks!

Perfect location! Great home.

This house has all you need and more. So many amenities to keep you occupied, even on a rainy day. Location is perfect...and price is more then fair for what you get. A bright cheery up to date home. Hot tub was amazing. Plenty of room. Upstairs is great for kids or adults who want to have their own space. Will be booking again next time I come!! Owner communication was great as well. Overall couldnt ask for better!!

Great time at the OBX

We had a great time at the outer banks. Sandy Cheeks was extremely clean and well stocked. Was 1 block from the beach and we spent most of our time their. Communication with the hosts was excellent. Would stay again.

Great House Great location

Sandy Cheeks was perfect for our first trip to OBX. The house is immaculate and well stocked with everything you need for a great beach vacation. Beach access is a 2 minute walk. Mary was great and very responsive. Can’t wait to come back to OBX. Highly recommended.

1st time to the OBX

This property felt like home away from home! We had everything we needed plus some to enjoy our time at the beach. This was our first time at the OBX and we will definitely be back! The resources from the property owners helped us plan our activities/dining! They really thought of everything!!

Great beach getaway

Super clean and convenient!! This was a lovely rental very close walk to the beach and right off the main road to all of the shops and restaurants. The home was cozy and had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. Mary was a wonderful host who took time out of her day to check in with us and give us a heads up about things happening.

Super Nice!

We spent the week at Sandy Cheeks and it was amazing. About a 2 min walk to beach and close to all the local places to visit. While here we went to Equine Adventures and rode horses on the beach. It was a great week and the hosts were a delight to work with!!

We couldn't have picked a better place to stay.

The house was beautiful and comfortable and the perfect size for the 4 of us. The walk to the beach was so convenient and made it so easy to go back and forth. I already miss sitting on the deck with my morning coffee listening to the waves. We'd definitely stay here again.

We had a absolute wonderful beach vacation at Sandy Cheeks! Mary is a fantastic owner who keeps you up to date on everything and stays in constant contact regarding your booking. PERFECT!!!!

The house was perfect and as described! Our family of five fit very comfortably. The cleanliness of the home was exceptional and the little extras that we didn’t think of were there to make it a stress-free vacation! We didn’t use the upstairs, but we could have comfortably fit a few more family members up there! The property owners were very helpful and quick to respond if needed. As for the location, it’s a very quick walk to the beach and a central location to shops and restaurants. Honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better house and location! Hope to return soon!

Two short blocks to beach access. Also, around the corner a strip mall with several good eateries (Pizza, Thai, Italian), coffee and donut shops. House was well equipped and comfortable. Recommend highly.

Fantastic beach getaway

Perfect for our family of 5!

The location of this place is ideal. The walk to the beach was manageable with our three kids under age 6. The size of the house was perfect and accommodating. Mary was great to work with and none of us got “blisters.” We will definitely be returning to this place!

The perfect beach house for our family

We had the best week staying at Sandy Cheeks. Not needing keys to come and go was immediately appreciated, the combination locks are such a good idea. The house was the perfect size for our young family of five. Our oldest kids loved sleeping in the loft and watching movies on the TV upstairs. The two outdoor showers were hugely helpful everyday, as were the beach chairs, boogie boards, umbrellas, and most of all the beach buggy. Being so close to the beach was wonderful, we walked there for sunrise on several occasions. This was such a great trip for us we are looking forward to repeating one day.

The house was very clean and comfortable, extremely well stocked, and helpfully labeled. Our family of 7 fit perfectly. Great communication from Mary. We had zero problems. I loved the outdoor showers and my husband loved the hot tub. Lots of places within walking distance. The area is not too crowded or 'touristy'. I took many long bike rides along the bayside multi-use trails. The beach was only a bit crowded mid-day. Morning and evening were quite peaceful. We loved watching the crabs at sunrise and flying kites in the evening. Perfect all around.

The Great Sandy Cheeks

We have been going to the beach for ten years or more, at least one time a year if not more. This is by far the best beach experience we have had. The walk to the beach is almost as close as when we have stayed actually on the beach, by the time we climb over the dunes, the distance is really not much different. It is a lovely beach too, and made great by all of the generous beach "toys" which made packing really easy. Mary is very organized and efficient in communicating about the property and things to do in the area. It was a great week!

Kitty Hawk Family Gem!

My husband and I stayed at Sandy Cheeks with our four young children (8,6,4,2) and made the most AMAZING memories. Upon arrival we were impressed with the cleanliness and open concept of the living portion of the house. The kitchen was stocked wonderfully as we cooked most meals. The occasional John’s visit was a must and is easily walkable! The convenience to the beach was perfect with kids. We had an afternoon storm every day but it perfectly coincided with a nap or hot tub time and again the walking distance was a breeze. The beach cart provided was insanely helpful along with the chairs and beach toys. The double outdoor shower was a pleasant surprise with a larger family. The loft was a great space to hang and watch tv when the kids went to bed. We are very excited to head back to Sandy Cheeks soon. Mary was easily accessible and helped with whatever we needed. Great Host! House was just right!

We had a comfortable stay with everything we needed at this cozy house. Mary could not have been more helpful and friendly in our communication. The internet was not reliable and we did have to go elsewhere for internet when we needed it for a few work things. We would absolutely choose this house again, even with that.

Our family started coming to the Outer Banks over 30 years ago. We just love it! So, after numerous years of renting, we decided to buy a beach house for our family and friends to enjoy as well as rent to others. We offer a home that is just like your home...we try to think of everything you will need to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We have had some great memories here and we hope you do to!! Remember a beach vacation is good for the soul!! Hope you love Sandy Cheeks as much as we do.

We are centrally located at MP 4.5. We have a great open main floor with three bedrooms in which two share a Jack & Jill bathroom. The other full bath is located in the main hallway. We have a unique upstairs loft with plenty of room to spread out - it is the kids/teens hangout. Equipped with cable & Wi-Fi, there is a full-size futon and a separate " loft bedroom" with door for privacy and daybed. We have some great books, magazines, puzzles, games, and classic videos to keep your family busy. We have a Weber grill to cook your freshly caught fish and a HOT TUB to enjoy after a long day at the beach. An assortment of beach toys, Beach Buggie, chairs, umbrellas and accessories are available for you to use as well.

Kitty Hawk offers lots of things to do! While we love our beach location, we encourage you to take a day trip or two. If you head north, visit the towns of Corolla & Cordova to see the wild horses...or head south to the famous Hatteras Lighthouse...or any of the numerous state and national parks like Pea Island. Try a day of fishing at Avalon Fishing Pier or try hang gliding at Jockey's Ridge. For a great lunch, walk north on the beach road about 3 blocks to John's to try their famous Dolphin bites lunch and best milkshakes on the beach. For dinner, try either Black Pelican or Hurricane Mo's further up the beach road or Barefoot Bernie's across the highway. Just a few of the great places to enjoy close to Sandy Cheeks!
