--PEPPERS COTTAGE - befindet sich in Mile Post 17. 5 an der Beach Road. Es ist Teil von Laughing Gull Cottages, einer Gemeinschaft am Meer.

Peppers ist ein gemütliches Ferienhaus für 2 Personen direkt am Meer. Nur etwa 150 Meter zum Strand.

Dieses Cottage sieht von außen vielleicht rustikal aus, aber es ist genau das Richtige für einen romantischen Kurzurlaub!

Pepper hat ein Doppelbett und ein Badezimmer. Es gibt eine Außendusche auch.

Die Küche ist komplett ausgestattet, so dass das Abendessen ist ein Kinderspiel!

Der Wohnbereich umfasst komfortable Möblierung, TV mit DVD-Player und kostenfreiem WLAN-Internetzugang.

Das Deck ist geräumig und eingezäunt, so dass es sicher für Kleinkinder und Haustiere ist. Ein Picknicktisch und ein Holzkohlegrill sind ebenfalls vorhanden.

Wusstest du? Als Peppers zum ersten Mal gebaut wurde, stellte Dr. Forbes mietete es an einen katholischen Kardinal.
Es gefiel ihm so gut, dass er, bevor er ging, die Hütte segnete.

Perfect spot by the ocean

Quiet cottage just steps from the ocean. Very clean space and has all the amenities of home. Well stocked kitchen. Communication with the rental agency was quick and thorough. Pets welcome which was a huge plus!

Great little place and Terrific location

The perfect size for one to two people And a pup or two. Charming bungalow, great amenities. Loved the available seating on porch and deck (though cushions for the rockers and a small table between them wouldn’t be a bad idea.) Great access to the beach and close to grocery stores. Highly recommend!

Another great stay

We previously stayed at the cottage and the entire kitchen was redone. We arrived a little earlier than checkin time and reached out to the property manager who sent over the cleaners so that we could start our vacation early. Once again, a great place to stay and we will definitely return.

Nice place!

We enjoyed our stay at Peppers cottage. Cute and clean. They even provided us a starter pack with paper towels, toilet paper, dishwasher pods, dish soap, and 2 bars of soap. It was alittle hard to find on a dark rainy night. Didn’t realize it was on Laughing Gull Cottages property. Also be aware if you have mobility issues: beach access is nearby but over a dune of soft deep shifting sand. No board walk unfortunately. We asked to have a later checkout but this was not able to be granted even in off season and apparently costs an extra day. We did appreciate being able to bring our large dog along for the stay and will consider booking here again. Location is good in Nags Head.

Fresh fish run

Drove down to buy fresh fish to bring back home. This place was cheaper than a hotel room. Cleanest place we have ever stayed. Has everything you need. Location was perfect. Beach is a short walk. Would stay again.

Perfect!!!

I stumbled upon peppers cottage while looking for a nice place to stay for our visit to the OBX. This little cottage was perfect for us!!! The inside is beautiful, the bed is comfy and the bathroom is big enough. It’s was wonderful for my wife and I. We don’t require a lot and like things to be simple. I loved that the kitchen for fully equipped and looked great!! We truly loved “peppers” and would love to return in the future. Email and telephone communications where good as well. Great spot!

My husband and I rented peppers with our two dogs for 2 nights and it was great. Perfect location, ease of check in/out, and friendly staff. We wish check out was a bit later than 10am since it was offseason, but we look forward to returning soon!

Perfect place for beach lovers

My partner and I knew we were looking for a bit of a unicorn in the outer banks: a cottage that’s close to the beach (no highway crossing required), with our own outdoor space and grill, full kitchen, dog friendly, and a small enough place that we weren’t paying for rooms we weren’t using (hard in an area with so many 10+ bedroom houses!). This place fit the bill perfectly, just a short walk to the beach, clean, and with a great little deck where we grilled every evening. It also has a surprisingly comfy couch for evening lounging! M We loved our stay there. The only thing I’d mention is a lot of the communication goes through the rental company and not VRBO (they ask you to sign a short-term lease), and the early check-out at 10 am, but otherwise perfect!

Great Little Place

Overall Peppers Cottage was a great little place for me and my wife for a week away from home. It's cute and cozy, well cared for and a short walk to the beach. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking, there are board games and puzzles for evening or rainy days. The cottage is about 10 minutes from the nearest grocery, and a good many restaurants are within 15 minutes. My only criticism is the amount of housekeeping that is expected. When we arrived we were given sheets in a sealed bag for us to put on the bed. Additionally, in spite of an $85 cleaning fee that's attached when you book, they require quite an extensive clean-up before leaving including bundling the trash over to the dumpster, sweeping the floors and removing all linens and towels and placing them by the door. All that might be fine in the absence of a cleaning fee, but seems excessive given that there is that fee.

Best kept secret

Pepper’s Cottage is the best kept secret in Nag’s Head. I dare you to find something so close to a beach access for this price! Perfect for me, my husband and our chihuahua. Great vacation!

We had relaxing time. Bed was just not right. We rolled to the middle. Did not know how to operate tv. Will go back but having an ocean view is a need not a want next time. This cottage is.close to ocean but found it’s not the same. Nice to have our dog with us.

Our Founder, Dr. Sarah Forbes passed away in 2011. She was a compassionate physician, dedicated to her patients becoming Norfolk General’s first female chief resident of OB/GYN.
In 1958, she became the first female physician to open a private OB/GYN practice in Newport News, VA.
Dr. Forbes was the first woman to be selected to the board, and the first female president, of the Boys and Girls Club of the Peninsula, where she was honored as a member of the “Wall of Fame” – the first and only woman to be so honored in the club’s 65-year history.

Sarah was often honored for her contributions to the organizations she served, and the community she loved.
Among her many awards were the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities’ Humanitarian Award in 2007, and the Medallion Award which is the highest recognition presented by The Boys and Girls Club of America to volunteers.

She served as president of several community organizations that include the Virginia Peninsula Academy of Medicine, the Newport News Chapter of the American Cancer Society, the Newport News Medical Society, and the Peninsula Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Her generosity benefited many organizations, including the Cancer Society, the Newport News Medical Society, the Peninsula Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Family Planning Council, First Baptist Church of Newport News, the Peninsula SPCA, Mariners’ Museum, Riverside Hospital, and Christopher Newport University.

We are continuing Dr. Forbes’ Legacy
All of our vacation homes are owned by Sarah E. Forbes MD, Trust which continues her legacy by using our profits to make regular donations to the charities she loved.
We take care of the houses like she would have wanted.
