Home Away from Home Thanksgiving

The stay was amazing! The place is better than described. The kitchen was spacious and well equipped, we were able to make Thanksgiving dinner. Lyssa and Michael were very welcoming and responsive in communication. They checked in with us regularly to make sure we had what we need for our stay. We look forward to staying there again soon! :)

Clean, quiet and spacious 1 bedroom apartment

This was our second stay at the property. We love this quiet, comfortable, well-equipped apartment. The large living room is nicely furnished, with a couch and two comfy modern leather recliners, and the open kitchen has all the equipment you need for cooking (although, because of pandemic rules, pantry basics like flour, salt and sugar are missing). A long, well-lit desk on the back living room wall is nicely set up for working. There's good separation between the living room and bedroom, and there's plenty of storage space, including a walk-in closet in the bedroom. The property is very quiet, Alyssa and Michael are lovely, and dogs are welcome. You can walk the dog around the expansive, forested property, or cross the street for a longer walk down a Land Trust trail. There's a new, larger deck furnished with a table, four chairs, and a grill, for private outdoor enjoyment. This is a great dog-friendly place to stay, at a reasonable price.

Bright guest house in forest-like setting.

Everything you need for a home away from home

My family of 4 (including 10 & 7 y.o. boys) stayed here for 9 days this June. It was obvious that the host put a lot of thought into every detail of the apartment. The modern/farmhouse finishings were very well done and made us feel right at home. Everything you could need was in the huge kitchen and labeled so it was easy to find. It all felt very fresh, clean, comfy and easy. My kids slept on an inflatable queen sized mattress in the master closet and were very happy and cozy in there. We saw the hosts everyday, as the apartment is above the detached garage next to their house. We’d happily stay here again on our next visit.

Clean, quiet, comfortable

Lots of thoughtful touches in Lyssa and Michael's place. It was roomy and the kitchen was nicely equipped for eating in. Everything was sparkling clean and quite comfortable. For those wanting a definite feel of the country but not too far a drive from town, this is an excellent place. Very considerate hosts!

Peaceful and Relaxing

The place is even better in person than in the pictures! It is very spacious, modern, clean and well organized. The kitchen is very large with modern appliances and well stocked. The oversized island provides plenty of counter space. The living area has several windows that bring in the natural light and a nice breeze. There is plenty of storage with a large walk-in closet in the bedroom and a wall of closets in the hall.. The balcony is a relaxing place to sit and enjoy weather and nature. It is a paradise for birders with numerous types of birds flitting and flying among the trees. In addition to the three extremely quiet neighboring cows, there is a doe that regularly visits the yard to eat. The location was great to accessing the many parks, and harbors on the island along with the shops and stores. The Seattle ferry is a 10 minute drive. The location was also an easy drive to other locations around the Olympic Peninsula. Lyssa and Michael are wonderful, friendly, and helpful hosts. I would highly recommend this treehouse/barnominuim to anyone wanting a quiet, peaceful, relaxing stay.

Beautiful property, wonderful hosts !!

We thoroughly enjoyed our extended stay at the Red Barn. Lyssa and Michael are wonderful hosts, the property is gorgeous, and the location is convenient to the local towns, restaurants, wineries, and the Seattle ferry. The loft is very spacious, well appointed, and includes all amenities one would expect. A truly modern, upscale experience. We are completely satisfied and will hopefully have the opportunity to stay again in the future.

Relaxing Bliss!

It is rare to meet persons who truly have the hearts for guest service. Lyssa & Michael are truly a cut above the best when it comes to making their guest feel at home! This space is so relaxing, clean, comfotable, and incredibly peaceful. We loved that the neighboring cows came to the fence to say Hi! We stayed for 6 months and couldn't have been treated any better. This place is in a great location to all access points to the island. Beautiful, cozy and serene setting. This place has it all. You will not need anything to stay here. Beautiful large kitchen island made it for cooking and hanging out at. We are looking forward to coming back!

Relaxing, Efficient Loft and a Helpful, Hospitable Hostess

Lyssa's loft is great. Ideal for 2 or three adults. The kitchen comes very well equipped - pots, pans, flatware, cutlery, several kinds of coffee makers, glassware, plates, and the like. The large kitchen island is the natural dining area which is adjacent to a spacious living area. The bedroom is exceeding comfortable. An abundance of linens in the bathroom. Lyssa's natural hospitality makes the great loft even better. She engages throughout with efficient instructions and very helpful suggestions on the pleasures of Bainbridge Island. The Red Barn's off-road, easily accessible location affords a quiet respite in the heart of Bainbridge Island, which, thanks to ferry access, is the best point from which to take in the many attractions across the Puget Sound in Seattle. A great place to stay. .

A delightful loft to stay in....

Loved staying in this loft apartment (ended up staying 5 weeks)...well decorated, everything you need...nice touch to have cows for neighbors...the owners are amazing folks...the rural location on Bainbridge Island is appreciated, however everything on the island is within a few minutes drive...then an easy ferry ride to urban Seattle or a beautiful drive to explore the Olympic Peninsula. Recommend this VRBO for anyone coming to the area.

Fabulous Home with all the Comforts & Amenities

The hosts have have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and upscale. The modern kitchen is stocked with everything you need for cooking at home. The towels and linens are plush and plentiful. It is immaculate! Internet has great streaming capability also. Plenty of storage for whatever you have been traveling with. Can't complement this home enough!

Great place to stay

Just a terrific experience. The hosts were so very friendly, the accommodations roomy and comfortable, and the location just perfect. The spot is quiet and serene, Bainbridge itself has plenty to offer, and downtown Seattle just a short ferry ride away. You could not ask for better landlords. They repeatedly asked if there was anything additional we needed, and any problem was quickly corrected. This is definitely a top notch place to stay! Believe me, you won't regret it.

Peaceful Retreat, Wonderful Hosts!

I had the pleasure of staying at The Red Barn Loft for three weeks last winter. I needed a personal retreat after the death of my mother, and this property was the perfect place for the reflective solace I was seeking. The apartment was clean, spacious, comfortably furnished and very cozy. The kitchen is large and well laid out. The bed was insanely comfortable and it is so quiet at night, was able to get caught up on much needed sleep during my stay. There was an incredible selection of movies in the apartment and a washer and dryer available for guest use as well. The location was perfect for me, just a quick five minute drive to Winslow where I found everything I needed: groceries, entertainment (both movies and live theatre), a day spa, yoga studio, gym, shops, restaurants and the ferry to Seattle. Lyssa and Michael are accessible if you need assistance, or want to visit, but were extremely respectful of my privacy. I cannot recommend this property more enthusiastically! I look forward to my next visit!

Wonderful Place, Wonderful People!

The Red Barn Loft was my home for several weeks while I was transitioning between houses. It worked out perfectly! The RBL is roomy, quiet, convenient to town, and everything inside is in perfect repair. It's beautifully decorated, and Lyssa and Michael provide everything you need. It was immaculate and comfortable and any questions I had were addressed immediately. Lyssa and Michael are nearby, but are totally invisible unless you want to visit with them or need help. I felt safe and cared for and very happy in this temporary home and would recommend it to anyone! I especially appreciated being able to have my dog with me during this transition time, too.

We are avid travelers, who fell in love with Bainbridge Island. When we decided to move to the Pacific Northwest, the island was a perfect choice. We love this island with its farmer's markets, art museum, restaurants, and great places to walk.

Bainbridge is a magical place. It has an incredible community of writers, artist, creative thinkers, and just plain lovely people. There are amazing places to hike, walk and wander. We have the benefit of living in a semi-rural place, 35 minutes from downtown Seattle. It is the best of living in the Pacific Northwest.
