This villa was by far the most unique, beautiful, and tranquil VRBO we have ever stayed in. Our host Antonio and his English speaking friend Joao met us in the down square of Lamego and show us the way to this casa. They were incredibly gracious and sat with us for an hour talking to us as old friends, treating us to a bottle of the local port and giving us pointers on what we should see and do in the area. Our host encouraged us to pick from the vineyard and garden. He gifted us a jar of honey from his personal hives. Antonio and Joa then gave us a tour of the amazing property which includes terraced olive trees, vegetable garden, chicken coop, citrus trees, and persimmons. The second morning, the farm caretaker, Antonio, brought us another bottle of port and olive oil that had been grown on the property. The home itself is very well appointed, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. My husband and I truly enjoyed the beauty of the setting and loved drinking coffee in the morning on the stone patio by the grape vineyards. I felt as if I were on a movie set.
