* Die Lummi Island Fähre legt jedes Jahr im September im Trockendock an. Dies bedeutet, dass wir nur eine Passagierfähre haben und alle Gäste, die während dieser Zeit buchen, auf dem Festland parken und überqueren. Das Whatcom County bietet einen Shuttlebus von der Inselseite und das The Beach House liegt nur einen kurzen Spaziergang von der Fähre entfernt. Wenn Sie jedoch einen Urlaub auf einer Autoinsel wünschen, möchten Sie in dieser Zeit nicht buchen. *
Dieses charmante, historische und wunderschön eingerichtete Strandhaus verfügt über zwei Schlafzimmer (ein Zimmer mit angeschlossenem Bad verfügt über ein Queensize-Bett und ein weiteres Zimmer mit einem Einzelbett) und bietet Platz für drei Personen. Das Ferienhaus ist mit allem, was Sie für eine einfache brauchen weg bestückt. Genießen Sie die große Terrasse mit Blick den atemberaubenden Blick auf Mt. Baker und die Schwestern, beobachten Sie die Fähre, die Whatcom Chief, fahren hin und her, nehmen Sie ein Bad in der tiefen Wanne, am Kamin zu lesen, setzen Sie Ihr Kajak im Wasser und Abenteuer, oder gehen Sie für eine Radtour oder Wanderung. Sie befinden sich in fußläufiger Entfernung zum örtlichen Beach Store Cafe (auf der gegenüberliegenden Straßenseite, aber informieren Sie sich auf der Website, um die Betriebszeiten zu sehen, da die Öffnungszeiten begrenzt sind) und dem örtlichen Lebensmittelgeschäft. Günstig gelegen, nur fünf Minuten zu Fuß von der Fähre und auf dem malerischen 7 Meile Schleife Das ist sehr gut zum Wandern und Radfahren entfernt. Trotz der Nähe zur Vancouver BC und Seattle, fühlt sich Lummi Island, wie es ist eine "andere Welt". The Beach House wurde 1933 erbaut und hat eine lange Geschichte von Lummi Island, und zu einer Zeit diente als lokale Bibliothek. Mit einem kompletten Sunset Magazine würdig Umgestaltung im Jahr 2004 könnte nicht süßer sein.

Very Nice Stay

My wife and I had a wonderful stay. The view is fantastic. I could sit and look out the window all day long, as the scenery is always changing. Mt. Baker and the Sisters came out beautifully on our last day. The sunrise is spectacular, and it is somehow comforting (I don't know why) to see the reliable Whatcom Chief crossing back and forth. The only slight snag was when the fireplace pilot went out due to a very windy few hours. I texted the host and she got back to me immediately with instructions for lighting the pilot, and it was up and running right away. She even dashed over with an extra space heater. The house is absolutely charming, it has everything you need, and we would definitely stay there again.

Magical cottage for an intimate getaway

This was our second stay at this historic property, the former library on secluded Lummi Island. When its clear you'll look out the picture window in the living room and see a perfectly framed view of Mt Baker in the distance. When it's cloudy you'll still enjoy inspiring views of the water (Hale Passage), the birds, the trees on the Lummi Reservation, and the little ferry that chugs back and forth daily, serving the island. With only one small grocery store, you'll want to plan ahead for your meals. The fabulous Beach Cafe offers epicurean delights (really!) but is only open Friday and Saturday afternoon/evening.

The beach house was perfect for a wonderful sisters time together, needing self-care and a place to rest. The house was equipped, clean with excellent view. We enjoyed the back deck and the gorgeous living room window with perfect picture views of Mount Baker. and Salish sea. The ferry ride over was quick and easy as well as coming back.

Cozy cabin by the sea

I wanted to go back to the place I spent many summers with my grandparents when I was young. It was relaxing and the laid back vibe was just what we needed. In some ways it had changed but not so much in others. Getting to see all the familiar places I remember, the church, the school where we went to salmon bakes and the beach where our family played. The ferry was always one of my favorite things. So cool that we could see it come and go from the cabin with Mt Baker in the background. We met a very interesting lady while there. She has been a photographer and makes beautiful knit wear. Will need to come back again soon.

The Beach Cottage

This is a wonderful spot for watching the sunrise, sea birds, and the fabulous Whatcom Chief ferry. The rocky shore is just steps away and there are many fine island adventures to be had nearby when you can pry yourself away from the view.

Wonderful Beach House !!

We loved the location right on the water with beautiful views of Mt Baker. The house was very comfortable with everything we needed. Great location which allowed us to bike ride and kayak. Enjoyed wine tasting with the locals and the charm of the island and just sitting out on the deck! Communication was fast and easy with the owners and they were happy to accommodate us- We will be back again!

Perfect Getaway

Very clean, well appointed, incredibly charming and cozy home with a beautiful backyard patio facing the Puget Sound. Lummi Island is quiet, safe, and the locals are super friendly. For the adventurous, a ladder will take you down to the rocks where you can walk or swim along the shore. In the main room, the leather sofa was comfortable for watching TV and the table with four chairs was where I kept organized and watched the Whatcom Chief ferrying to and fro. The master bedroom's queen-size mattress was soft and plush with high-quality pillows and cotton bedding. The twin mattress was firmer and a lovely spot for reading or a quick nap. The shower had good water pressure, and the soaking tub was a delight after long hikes exploring the land and nature reserves. The sunny kitchen, stocked with herbs and spices, cookware, dishes and cutlery, has a double sink and dishwasher which made meal prep and clean-up a breeze. The on site washer/dryer ensures you're able to go home with clean clothes. A dream vacation home which exceeded my expectations. Thanks for the hospitality!!

Peaceful retreat

My husband and I stayed for our 25th anniversary. The house was exactly what we expected and more. The view from the deck was amazing which is why we spent the majority of our time there. Highly recommend, if you are looking for peace and quiet.

Lovely house in a wonderful spot. Very well maintained. We definitely look forward to staying here again when our travels take us to Lummi Island. Angie, the host, was particularly helpful and accommodating as we were traveling to Lummi during the annual ferry drydock period. We could only get across on the walk-on ferry, which had an abbreviated schedule.

Scenic cozy getaway with water views

The house was very comfortable and had the water views we were looking for. We loved the ferry crossing back and forth. It’s a quite community and the locals are friendly. We enjoyed wandering the beach at low tide.

We had a lovely time at the Beach House. We love watching the Ferry go to and fro and one day Mt Baker was stunning with how the sun glinted off the mountain! Loved having our dog with us too! :)

Great spot

So close to the ferry and shop and an exceptional view of Mount Baker. The Beach House was an unexpected winner for take out, including a delicious sundae. Beach was also an easy stroll to get to, which the dogs loved. So relaxing, I would def recommend for a small party
