What a most memorable visit to Charleston. Everything in the French Quarter, where most restaurants, bars, activities, etc. are located, was within easy walking distance. The house was beautiful and full of character and charm - what history must lie within those historic walls. The view outside overlooked a wall and into Washington Park, so it was scenic from inside and yet private from the outside. The walk down the private brick driveway to the front door was like taking a leisurely stroll a few hundred years ago. It was the perfect complement to the whole character of Charleston.
The owners were so pleasant and available throughout our stay if ever there was something we needed. The unit was well stocked - coffee, laundry supplies, etc. - and surprised us with complimentary "refreshments" upon our arrival. We found a gem amongst jewels in the heart of Charleston and our hosts could not have been more gracious, friendly and helpful with so many suggestions of what to do and where to go.
My only advice for first-time visitors to Charleston is to make dinner reservations well ahead of time, which we did. The variety of dining experiences and breadth of food options is enough to meet the needs of any palate and budget.
Definitely going to reconnect with these owners next time we visit the area. Thanks so much.
