Castle View Cottage - atemberaubendes Ferienhaus in den Yorkshire Dales

Castle View, Castle Bolton macht seinem Namen wirklich alle Ehre, mit einer Aussicht auf das Cottage, die buchstäblich nicht zu übertreffen ist (und nur von unserem Nachbarn erreicht wird!)
Das Cottage wurde 2015/2016 komplett restauriert und ist im Erdgeschoss offen geschnitten. Es verfügt über einen Küchenbereich, einen großen Esstisch, ein Sofa, Stühle, einen TV und ein DAB-Radio. Die offene Natur gibt es ein sehr gemütliches Gefühl, aber es ist sicherlich nicht eng.
Im Obergeschoss befinden sich zwei Schlafzimmer, eines mit zwei Einzelbetten und das Hauptschlafzimmer mit einem Superkingsize-Bett (dieses kann auf Wunsch in zwei Einzelbetten aufgeteilt werden). Das Bad im Obergeschoss ist mit einer modernen begehbaren Dusche, Toilette und Waschbecken ausgestattet.
Es gibt eine Ölzentralheizung im gesamten Gebäude und einen wunderschönen Holzofen für eine gemütliche Nacht in.
Draußen gibt es einen geschlossenen hinteren Sitzbereich mit Möbeln. (im Nebengebäude gelagert). An der Vorderseite der Unterkunft befindet sich ein Sitzplatz mit Blick auf das Schloss Bolton.

Dieses Ferienhaus in Leyburn liegt in ländlicher Umgebung. Raydale Preserves und The Forbidden Corner zählen zu den Attraktionen der Region. Perfect cottage!

We had booked Castle View as our accommodation for our wedding at Bolton Castle. Our bridal party stayed with us and at the cottage next door and it was perfect. We could not have asked for more.

Perfect base to explore the Dales

We had a lovely, comfortable stay in Castle View cottage. It was perfectly located, and the short walk to Bolton Castle and view from the front windows were fantastic. Even on rainy days we found lots to do and it was great just staying in and watching the weather with a cup of tea. Highly recommended!

A return visit to Castle View. Clean, spacious property that is a great base for a visit to the Dales. Anne the owner is a great host, excellent communication. Castle Bolton is a wonderful location and would definitely recommend a visit.

Long weekend away for Family Wedding

The property is superb, immaculate and well equipped and furnished to a high standard. We especially appreciated the extras washing up liquid, soap in bathroom, tin foil, bin bags all items that usually are not provided and then need to be purchased and perhaps only use a small amount. The only downside was it was difficult to park over the weekend but settled down by Sunday night. Thank you for a fabulous stay 10/10

Superb location and delightful cottage

There’s not much you can fault about this property. The aspect (looking across the greens to Bolton Castle) is beautiful, the location peaceful and the cottage itself was more spacious than we had imagined. The addition of help from a friendly neighbour when we arrived was a wonderful bonus. It was clean, well maintained and superbly equipped. We were pleasantly surprised to find a large fridge-freezer when no freezer had been mentioned and indeed some older reviews had referred to a tiny “camping fridge”. A quick trip to the supermarket in nearby Leyburn remedied the lack of frozen foods we had brought with us. We had a fabulous, relaxing holiday and would love to go back again one day.

Everything you need, nothing you don't.

We've had to move this holiday a number of times this year due to Covid, and Anne has been really very accommodating and helpful, communicating with us at every stage of our visit. Finally managed to get away at the end of October. The cottage was wonderful, sitting at one end of castle bolton with a direct view of the castle, perfect for a cosy night in front of the log fire playing games with the family. Also, the cottage was perfectly situated for a range of walks which we did with the kids (7 and 9) - they especially liked the waterfalls which were very full during our visit. Great access to places of historic interest too - not only Bolton Castle, but driving distance to Middleham Castle too. Pubs in nearby Redmire and Carperby provided us with a few evening meals (even take away), but the facilities in the Castle View also meant we could cook after visiting one of the local market towns to gather supplies. Myself and my partner have visited the Dale's a number of times before having kids and wanted somewhere that would give them a nice introduction to the area. Castle View did not disappoint. They've woken to a view of a castle every morning, experienced walking home from the pub shining their torches in the dark, walked long distances and earned their sunday roast, and at the end of the day had a warm fire and cosy bed to snuggle into. Couldn't have asked for any more.

Hello- thank you for looking at our little gem of a cottage which we bought in 2015 as a restoration project. We use it as a weekend and summer get away so it's our home from home. Over the last few years we have enjoyed getting to know the area and have truly fallen in love with Wensleydale.

Our Cottage is set at the head of Castle Bolton village with views of Bolton Castle that quite literally are unsurpassed and only equalled by our neighbour!
We sympathetically restored the cottage in 2015 giving it a very homely warm feel. During 2024, we refurbished the soft furnishings and decorated throughout. We hope the pictures do it justice
