Das Haus befindet sich auf der Südseite des Snowdonia-Nationalparks und ist ein Ende des Reihenhauses, das 1826 ein Weberhaus war. Wir haben das Cottage kürzlich umfassend renoviert und dies beinhaltet ein neues Badezimmer. Der Snowdonia-Nationalpark liegt 8 km entfernt. Weitere Attraktionen sind das Zentrum für alternative Technologien, Naturschutzgebiete, die Talyllyn Railway, die Devils Bridge sowie die Küstenorte Aberdovey und Borth. Es gibt hervorragende Wanderwege für Wanderer und Wanderwege für Mountainbiker. Das Haus bietet Platz für vier Personen - es gibt ein Doppelbett im Obergeschoss und ein Schlafsofa im Wohnzimmer. Das Haus bietet saubere, grundlegende Einrichtungen, so dass wir den Mietpreis niedrig halten. Es gibt einen ausgezeichneten Reiniger, der zu Beginn und am Ende Ihres Aufenthalts putzt. Alle Bettwäsche und 4 Handtücher werden gestellt, aber bringen Sie zusätzliche Handtücher mit, wenn Sie diese benötigen. Wir bieten Baumwolltücher und ein bequemes Bett.

Die Treppe ist ein typischer Landhausstil und nicht für Personen mit eingeschränkter Mobilität geeignet.

Kinder sind herzlich willkommen, aber da es eine Treppe im Landhausstil gibt, machen Sie sie bitte darauf aufmerksam, dass sie gehen und nicht die Treppe hoch und runter rennen müssen.

Dies ist ein sauberes, einfaches walisisches Ferienhaus in einer wunderschönen Gegend in der Nähe vieler der besten von Wales. Wenn Sie nach einer gut platzierten Unterkunft mit vielen traditionellen Merkmalen suchen, dann ist dies das perfekte kleine Häuschen für Ihren Aufenthalt. Zünde das Feuer an, wenn du ankommst und die Atmosphäre ist herrlich.

Das Haus verfügt über einen kleinen Vorgarten, eine Terrasse auf der Rückseite und einen großen Seitengarten. Das Haus befindet sich in einer idealen Gegend, um den Snowdonia-Nationalpark zu erkunden.

Möglicherweise gibt es einen Vorrat an Holz und Kohle, den Sie gerne nutzen können. Da ich jedoch nicht immer garantieren kann, dass die vorherigen Gäste den Vorrat aufgefüllt haben, empfehle ich Ihnen, Kohle, Holz, Feueranzünder und Anzünder bei einem der örtlichen Händler zu kaufen Garagen.

Es gibt eine Reihe von sehr guten Restaurants in der Umgebung und viele schöne Picknickplätze. Ich kann Ihnen eine Liste mit interessanten Orten, fantastischen Picknickplätzen und spektakulären Landschaften schicken.

We loved this property. It’s beautiful and has everything you need including wood and blankets to keep warm if needed. Lovely garden and a quiet area. It is cold in there (even in August) so maybe take slippers with you! We can’t wait to go back

Not happy with property

First impressions of the property on arrival was disappointing with rubbish on the floor on the front garden. The property does state it's basic but it would be a bonus if it was clean. The sofa was dirty. The living room was dull and dingy and a larger TV would be beneficial. The kitchen units were OK as long as you don't mind spiders webs and spiders inside as you open the doors. The cooker was disgraceful and needs desperately replacing. The property is very isolated and a car is a must if you want to eat. The nearest pub was approximately 2.5 mile away and a shop was not seen during our stay within a reasonable distance. Due to our disappointment we only stayed 1 night instead of 2. I would not recommend this property.

Deer Cottage

Enjoyed our break and it was a good base to explore from so we really didnt spend much time at the cottage. It is as described ...very basic, but it was enough for our 3 nights. It's perfect size for 2 but a bit cramped with 4 as you have to use the sofa bed. So that really left us struggling to chill out after a long day walking/exploring. We would end up sitting on the dining rooms chairs. The bedroom upstairs is very spacious and the bed is lovely and comfy. Bathroom has been recently done and is small. As one previous review noted - no mirror and there was plenty of wall space for one. Overall a nice little break for us all and fortunate with the weather too.

Nice little cottage

We enjoyed are stay in the cottage. All in all everything one needs. It was beforehand clear that it is small, no WiFi and no high quality TV only a small one, from our side no problem, because we went out to see the countryside and didn't stay all day in, and in the evening we were tired. Only the stairs from the bedroom can be a bit challenging, especially if one needs to go to the toilet in the night :) The garden is more than enough for a dog and we only went out together with our dog, so also no problem with escaping. Nice neighbours... Should we come around again to that area, we would try to stay there again.

Wales Holiday Cottage

A nice little cottage in a quite part of mid Wales, just on the bottom edge of the Snowdonia national park. A nice little base for getting out and about. We used it for one week and would use it again. A car is a must as this is a very quite location with easy access to local villages and towns. The cottage has everything in it that you would require for a holiday. A nice little patio area to enjoy a glass of wine or two with an evening meal.

Very Poor

Unclean, uncared for property, it’s furnishings and it’s garden. Hugely disappointed with this “holiday cottage”. It lacks basics such as a bathroom mirror, kitchen supplies, a place to hang clothes, bins, hand towels and I could go on. There was nothing upon arrival apart from a carton of UHT milk which went straight in the cupboard with the old lumpy olive oil. I don’t think the owner is interested in ensuring guests are satisfied judging by previous comments left in the guest book.

Deer House is a wonderful dear cottage

If you are looking for a genuine old welsh cottage, away from it all, then this might be what you’re looking for. 15mins drive from Machynlleth, 45mins to Aberdovey, Ynylas and Borth. Deer House is surrounded by hills, and mountain views - with plenty of trails to explore. Machynlleth has a wide variety of shops, pubs and places to eat. Market day is Wednesday morning and well worth a visit. The cottage is cosy, and with the added bonus of a log burner which keeps the chilly evenings warm. You’ll find the property in good order throughout with all you’ll need for a pleasant stay. A small but well equipped kitchen, small bathroom with bath and shower, a delightful living room with dining table, sofa bed, log burner, TV, DVD and Freeview. Upstairs there is a large double sized bedroom with comfortable mattress. The stairs need to be taken carefully and definitely NOT for younger children or the less agile. You’ll find most of the furniture and items are from IKEA, so it gives you an idea of the quality of this place. The property is ideal for little dogs, although note that the garden boundary fencing isn’t designed to stop your little terriers from going awol! With a busy main road, it’s best to keep your eye on them. There is limited parking available. Concerning communication and assistance by the owner - absolutely first class. Amazing! Would I recommend it to friends and family? Most definitely.

Big on history, small on comfort

The idea behind this cottage is lovely. No WiFi, sparsely furnished and equipped but a tiny yet beautiful 1820s Welsh weavers’ cottage with sensitive renovations which allow the original features of the property to live on. If you are looking for a quasi monastic getaway from it all, this is your place. However, be aware of the following if you also like a modicum of comfort! In December it is very cold and laboursome to heat. The cottage management company, ‘Safe as Houses’ had cut a gap off the bottom of the front door, to accommodate a rising tile. This meant that we had to roll up a rug to plug the gap and keep the winter wind out. There are electric heaters in each room which work after a while but you are not permitted to leave these on when you go out, meaning that if you go out for the day, you will return to a freezing property. The wood burning stove is lovely, but of course takes time to get going and the heat it gives out is marred by the draughts. Even sitting on the sofa in the evening with the electric heater on and the stove, we wore our coats... The kitchen is a no go area. We did have the oven on, but again you would need coats and fingerless gloves to prepare food comfortably. The TV did not work and there were no instruction manuals for any appliance. We weren’t that bothered about TV but on the second night we fancied watching the news and weather. We spent time troubleshooting with Google before phoning the cottage owner in London who referred us to Alan, the cottage manager at Safe as Houses. Unfortunately he was on holiday but he was helpful and sent a local man, Darren round to see if he could fix it. It took him a good 20 minutes as the small TV is old and even he couldn’t understand it! Luckily, he was charming and a self confessed nerd who loved a challenge and was determined that us two females would get to watch a bit of TV. (Not the cosy, quiet evening we had planned though) The lighting in the cottage is inadequate for reading etc, especially as one of the bulbs had blown and none of the replacement bulbs matched the fitting. There are no wardrobes but hangers are provided which worked for us. No shop or pub in the village,so do come with basic provisions if you are travelling from far away - you won’t have a pint of milk waiting for you in the fridge to welcome you. We had an 8 hour journey to get there, but luckily had brought milk and firewood with us. We still had a lovely time though!

Cosy cottage Excellent position

The cottage was well appointed with the basics. Bed had a good mattress, cleanliness was good. The wood burning stove was compliant and efficient and it was comfortable even for an October stay. The position in Commins Coch has many good paths and lanes with excellent views, good access to Glendowrs way and is near by many places worthy of visiting.

Beautiful location. Basic cottage.

Nice little cottage in a beautiful location. Nothing supplied. Would have been nice to at least have had milk in the fridge. Every other self catering accommadation i have stayed in have provided a welcome supply of food. We ran out of loo roll within a day. The garden out back was unusable & although dog friendly was not dog safe. It was a lovley cottage though & we really enjoyed the location & everything Wales had to offer. You could tell the owner did not live near by.

Charming, Cozy Cottage in Gorgeous Locale

My son and I LOVED our stay in the cottage. It is located in Commins Coch, a quiet neighborhood surrounded by gorgeous hills and fluffy sheep. Many great walks in the area, and the bus stop is literally across the street. The nearby village of Machynlleth is delightful. The cottage is modern in its facilities, but has wonderful 19th century charm. The kitchen was perfect for us, and we Ioved having a fireplace in the living room. The owner is very pleasant, incredibly helpful, and quick to respond to queries. Overall, one of the loveliest stays I can remember!

The cottage is lower cost than many and the quality is possibly reflected in the price. Everything you would expect to find is as advertised although it is basic. There was only one towel each and the cottage was difficult to keep warm

A Perfect Retreat

Situated just south of Cadair Idris and close to Snowdonia National Park Deer House is a perfect retreat for those wanting a break from the stresses of modern life. Clean and comfortable the cottage is perfect for couples, one bedroom, a lounge, bathroom and kitchen. the wood burner provided more than enough warmth during our stay and the basic kitchen facilities were more than adequate for cooking every night for 2 weeks. The small hamlet boasts a bunch of friendly neighbours and the proximity of Machynlleth allows for regular visits to replenish supplies. We loved our time in in Deer House and will be returning.

Loved this secret little welsh hideaway!

My partner, our 2 dogs and I stayed at deer house cottage for 6 nights and we loved every minute of it! The cottage is comfortable and cosy, the log burner is perfect for those chilly nights! All around the cottage and nearby areas are surrounded by breath taking views! We were out and about and had something to do and somewhere to visit every day! Highly recommend deer house if you want a secret, undisturbed get away! We most certainly will be back again!

Relaxing stay
