Brilliant place, BUT…

Height of summer and this property has NO air conditioning. Not an issue during the day, but at night was a struggle. Other than this issue, villa was lovely if a little sparse (a few bits of greenery on outside areas around pool and upstairs veranda wouldn’t go amiss) but location made this a winner. Being so close to the village made up for these small niggles. This was our third visit to the area and our best, thanks for having us.

100% Relaxation

A perfect place to unwind. The house is exactly as shown and very clean and tidy throughout. As there was only two of us, we didn't venture upstairs at all! The pool was wonderful and many days were spent dipping in and out, and relaxing on the very large terrace. Frigiliana is a beautiful village with plenty of lovely restaurants, with special mention for The Garden Restaurant and Restaurant Bar Virtudes. Watch out for those steep streets and steps!

Fantastic situation

We had a very enjoyable stay, and our grandsons loved the pool. The house is very central for the village and has lovely views (and walks) both up and down the river valley. Inside the house was a little gloomy but the lovely patio and pool more than made up for that.

We are just back from a week in Los Tajos. What a house and what a village. First the village... read the reviews. A beautiful whitewashed Spanish village. Really relaxing calm place. Ideal place to vegetate. Beautiful place, great food and great wearther.

Wow!

What a lovely place in a great location in a lovely village. Very helpful owners too. I would only make 1 comment and that is that they say you have to use plastic cups by the pool (understandably) but they only provide 2. So more plastic cups needed.

Great for summer break

This villa would be a great place for a summer break, because the location, view, pool, and outside spaces are wonderful, but it is far too cold in winter, no heating system and draughty windows, and very few lights that work, in fact the electrics are bad throughout, and in the kitchen they could be classed as dangerous, we moved the kettle away from the dishwasher because you would not want to spill water down the back of there. Frigiliana and Nerja and the mountain villages around there are nice places and we have been there many times, so we still had a good holiday, despite the cold nights,

Beautiful villa with a stunning scenic view

We arrived on 21st December for our 10 day holiday at the villa over xmas. We were met by the lovely Javier who was very helpful and showed us around the beautiful spacious villa. The villa is located in a great spot, just off the main square of Frigilliana down a steep side road by the Restaurant Bar virtudes. My husband and son embarked on a few hikes up in the mountains, a great location if you're into walking. There is parking for around 3 cars. The villa was very clean on arrival, with great indoor and outdoor space. There was a terrace through double doors off the living room, which looked down on to the pool. The weather was beautiful and this area was a real suntrap. We had the sun from early morning and lost it around 4.30pm. The pool was very clean and my children played in it in their wetsuits very happily :) The queen bedroom was also located off the living room, with a small balcony which showed off the stunning valley down to the river. There was a small bathroom with shower also located off the living room area. Up the stairs was another double bedroom, small bathroom and twin beds on the first floor. The villa had a hairdryer, iron and ironing board, washing machine and dish washer, as well as enough cups, plates, glasses and culterly for the 6 of us who stayed. There were a few basics such as toilet roll, washing up liquid etc there when we arrived, but we visited the little mini market up the street which was very well stocked and reasonably priced. The nearest Mercadona is a 10 min drive down the road to Nerja, taxi fare around €12. The garden also contained lovely orange trees which the children enjoyed picking and squeezing. We did have our 18 month old baby with us, who we did have to watch at all times as there is a steep staircase leading down to the ground floor and pool exit off the kitchen. There was another larger bathroom located on this lower level with a bath. It did get a little cool in the villa in the evening once the sun went down, however there were 2 portable heaters provided with plenty of bedding and once we put a cardigan on it wasnt really a problem. We ate a number of restaurants in the village, Plaza 45, Bar Pizzeria da giuseppe and Spices Indian restaurant all highly recommended. Overall we had a fantastic stay and would definitely consider coming back here again. Thank u for letting us use your lovely villa!

Wonderful location, nice pool looking down the gorge and private parking. Lovely villa.

The Villa is fantastic. The owners are very accommodating (met us early as we needed to pick up our remaining party from Malaga airport). Communication was good. Prime location for access to the village set down a steep side street and has it’s own parking for three cars (at a premium in Frigiliana nowadays). Very spacious and clean with a lovely swimming pool and sun terrace with clear views down the stunning river gorge. Large separate kitchen, dining room and lounge area. We had a wonderful week here.

Lovely villa in brilliant location

Excellent 3 bed villa with terrace and good pool with shallow section for youngsters. Overlooks river gorge so feels like you are in the country but are only 75 metres from the village. In shade in the evening which is good in the hottest weather. Frigiliana is a perfect village with lots of restaurants but is quiet and not over-full of tourist shops etc. Basic shops only in village. Otherwise it is a 10 minute drive to Nerja resort for sea. 1 hour drive to Alhambra. 50 minutes to Malaga Airport.

A beautiful and private location

Having visited Frigiliana on two previous occasions when we stayed in an apartment, we decided, this time to book a villa. We were only a party of two but chose this three-bedroom villa. It is in a beautiful setting overlooking the gorge and is very private despite only being a very short walk from the town. At 920 Euro for a week's stay, it was at the top-end of what I was prepared to pay. For that money, I would have expected some of the more basic items to be included: bathroom and kitchen essentials such as washing-up liquid; soap etc. We have stayed in much less expensive (but equally good) villas where a small welcome pack of the essentials is provided - this being much appreciated and also meaning that an immediate visit to the shops is not required. Additionally, being only a party of two, the lack of matching crockery etc did not pose a problem but, if we had been a party of six, there would not have been enough glasses, cups etc. for that number of people to each have a matching wine glass; tumbler; cup. Having said that, these are relatively small matters and the villa is a beautiful place to spend a week soaking up the sun. There are comfortable places to sit (both sunny and shaded) and the pool was a very welcome relief in the heat. If the property was better equipped with the essentials, I would have no hesitation in giving it 5 stars.

Stunning Site

Superb situation walking distance to village but situated on the edge of a valley. Nice pool with children`s area. Poorly provided with everyday essentials eg toilet rolls, teacloths etc. Wifi available but expensive. Television no use. They have a satellite dish but even the owners couldn`t get a signal from it.

Fantastic Christmas break in lovely villa

Laura was the perfect host..showed us around her lovely property which was in very clean condition. It had everything we expected and more.kitchen was vety well equiped with everything you could need.lots of glassware crockery cutlery pans etc. We had a problem getting the gas rings to wirk.ln first day and laura and uncle came immediate to fix the problem.it just was properly attached..frigiliana is a beautiful village and just a few miles from busier Nerja. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would recommrnd this property. Thank you so much Laura and best regards to you..Happy New year to you and your husband and your beautiful little girl.Dorothy

Buenas vacaciones

Nos gustó mucho la ubicación y la zona exterior de la casa. Tiene preciosas vistas y una piscina muy hermosa. Esta en el pueblo, que es muy cómodo. Frigiliana es un pueblo muy bonito, con buenos restaurantes y muy cerca del mar y Málaga, El interior de la casa nos gustó menos. Estaba limpio, pero muy básico y un poco anticuado. La segunda ducha es demasiada pequeña para un adulto. Sin embargo nuestras vacaciones en Frigliana eran maravillosas.

Excellent House in Frigiliana

Our family love the village of Frigiliana and have stayed in a variety of properties in the village. This for us ranks up at the top for a very spacious family accomodation with all the basics you need. Great pool, choice of terraces, outside BBQ, very conveniently tucked away just 100m from where old town meets new. Spot on for us.
