Lovely Historical Home

Great location!

This was a great spot in Porto. You are close enough to the good areas but far enough away that it isn’t loud from everyone enjoying themselves at night. We had a lovely time.

The apartment we stayed in was in an excellent location. Jose, the owner, was an excellent host. He showed us around the neighbourhood, took us for coffee, then advised us of places of interest to visit. Apartment had very comfortable bed & was very cosy. Fully recommend this apartment

A taste of Old World Porto

José was so generous! He met us and showed us around the neighborhood, bought us expressos and pastries, and shared a bit of the beautiful historic place that has been in his family for a long time. We felt the heart of Porto there at José's charming and artful spot!

Great owner, location and stay!

Jose was fantastic. Gave us tips and ideas for our stay and made the arrival as easy as possible. Communication was perfect and answered any question we had before our arrival. The room was charming and clean. The two bathrooms upstairs were fantastic when getting ready to go out. Had everything we needed and the bed was extremely comfortable. So many great places to eat nearby. We were able to walk to everything we wanted to see and it was quiet at night. Perfect room for a couple and would definitely stay here again.

very good location

This flat is beautiful and quirky and a good base to start from when exploring Porto. When considering self-catering, some more applicances are needed to make it work. Also, having access to a warm water tap in the kitchen would be an advantage. Given the proximity to breakfast, lunch and dinner places most people probably won't miss that. Other than that it is a wonderful place to be in and the host has been very welcoming and generous in giving us very useful information about this gorgeous city.

Great location!

Was so close to everything and the host was incredible- def went above and beyond to ensure we knew where we were and had to go! The apartment is beautiful and well kept. My onlyyyyyy thought is that the bed was very hard- we both did not sleep well. But the pros very much outweigh the cons- def worth staying!

Fabulous apartment

We were very impressed from the moment we arrived. The host was so welcoming and told us everything about the neighborhood. Where to eat, shop and the highlights of Porto. The apartment is so comfortable. The bed was very good and we both slept well. Everything we needed was supplied. It is so centrally located that we could walk to everywhere. Great locations and great host

José’s house is on the edge of everything you want to see in Porto, so we walked everywhere. The house was well organized although you shouldn’t expect a North American look. This is a 300 year old house! There is free street parking out the door, which was very convenient. There is a laundromat and grocery store (with a good cafeteria) a block away). José took the time not only to make recommendations of where to go but also to take me to the grocery store and laundry so I would know where they are! He was incredibly helpful while we were in Porto. While the house had little natural light, it was amply provided with lamps and we were able to see and knit in the main room.

What a gem! Highly recommended

This apartment was beyond our expectations. With its old word (300 yr old) interior walls and floors to its tasteful furnishings yet boasting all modern conveniences. We were very comfortable. It is very quiet and safe area with lots of restaurants within short walking distance. We tend to take Uber and were pleased to find that nowhere in the city was more than 5 euros (including 1 euro tip) Our host as extremely cordial and helpful. Thank you for the opportunity. We highly recommend this home away from home

Best VRBO Host ever!

Jose is the most gracious and generous VRBO Host. We have stayed in VRBO apartments In Italy,Greece , Spain London and Edinburgh. None of these had a host like Jose. Most attentive host - José kind and caring

Location is everything here, close enough to all you want to see and do, yet far enough to get the local experience. We are regular VRBO users and also are hosts for our property in the US. Jose contacted us, met us at the unit and the. Asked to take us for a 30 min orientation of the neighbourhood so we knew where everything was. Lots of great information and we went from being in a forest to a welcoming park in the 30 min. Coffee and pasteis de nata. We would definitely recommend this unit which will sleep 3 comfortably. Bravo José.

Wonderful stay at Jose's 300 year old family home!

Thank you Jose for being such a wonderful host! You went out of your way to secure a parking spot for us. As well, you took the time to show us the highlights of your beautiful city. Porto is a wonderful place to explore and there are so many sights within walking distance of this property. It has everything you need and the neighbourhood is quiet for sleeping. Bear in mind that the apartment is 300 years old and built into rock. There is a bit of a musty smell that may be a problem for some.
