Super well equipped flat with great views

This was by far the best equipped and spacious flat we have rented in Europe. The kitchen was delight to cook in. The only accessory this place did not have was air conditioning, but that is rare in Europe. The views from the flat were very pretty and a nice breeze often blew through the windows. Tram stops were relatively close by, as was the Vondelpark. This is not right in the city center, but for the money it was a value.

Ideal apartment in Amsterdam

Michel was an excellent host giving us lots of information and making check in easy. The apartment was very comfortable with everything you need for your stay. Close to Tram stops with trams going straight into the centre frequently and train stations nearby to go further afield. There are supermarkets, shops and restaurants all around the area. We really enjoyed our stay at Michel's apartment and would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Amsterdam

wonderful stay

This is the only property you should rent in Amsterdam. Spacious, wonderful views over a canal. All the appliances make your stay very comfortable. Michel was a wonderful host and explained the unit to me and even recommended where to get a tram ticket and a Sim card, He also kept in contact over my stay. You will have an 8 minute walk to Tram #2 which stops right in front of the Van Gogh museum and continues on to the train station. Lots of great shops on the street, grocers, bakeries, fish shop, cafes...However, it is a bit of a noisy street. Lovely Vondelpark across the street. You will surely enjoy your stay at this unit

Awesome Location!

The flat is perfect for two adults to enjoy a stay in Amsterdam. Very close to public transportation, right next door to Vondelpark which is lovely to walk through each day, grocery stores nearby, restaurants all within walking. Good kitchen for cooking. The listing matched exactly what we experienced and it was great.

4 picture windows in this corner apartment overlooking a canal next door to Vondelpark. Spacious and convenient to trams or walk through the park to Museumplein. Fabulous meet & greet explaining all. Simply the best.

A great home away from home!

Michel is a fantastic host! The check-in process was quick and easy and we got lots of great recommendations from him. The apartment is exactly the way it appears online. It felt like home - very warm and inviting. This is their home for part of the year, and we are grateful they are willing to share it. We’d love to come back! There are some great casual restaurants very close by - Braai and Toko Kok Kita are two of them. Also, Sticky Fingers has great coffee and pastries. If you’re daring, do the A’Dam Lookout swings - it’s so much fun with an amazing view! You’ll get to know the #1 and #17 trams quite well - they are a lifesaver. We highly recommend this apartment!

Lovely spacious apartment with views

Michel’s place was even better than the photos. Everything was very clean and the bright apartment has great views. The bed was very comfortable and linens were comfy. The bathroom was nicely set up. You do need your own shampoo, etc. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking with spices, pots and pans, coffee and more. Michel left us some food for our first lunch which was very nice. There is an Aldi nearby. There are many restaurants and and bars on the canal in back and on the main road in front. There is traffic on the road in front and it can get loud if you leave the window open for air as we did because it was hot during the day. The breeze is quite good when you do open them. It is a bit over a mile to walk through the park to museum square which was nice. We personally did not find the public transportation that easy to use. Some lines were under repair and since we did not have wifi on our phones, it became a challenge. And there was a strike of the trains going to nearby cities, so you had to pay attention. You will enjoy this location away from the crowds in the center.

Just what we needed

Michel’s place was just lovely. Located in a quiet part of town but such an easy trip down to the hussle and bustle. We stayed for about a week, and it had everything we needed and more. So much sunshine in all of the windows, located in a a quiet building we barely saw anyone in the lift or hallways during our entire stay. There is no A/C in the building, but we had no issues with the amount of windows, there was always a breeze (sometimes we even got chilly with the breeze) Michel met us on arrival to show us the place and how everything worked and gave us great recommendations. He is the most responsive host I’ve met on one of these platforms, before, during l, and after our stay. I highly recommend booking Michel’s place!

Excellent experience all around, highly recommended!

Michel's flat is an amazing find. Spacious, clean, comfortable. Building is safe and quiet. Amazing views. Nice balcony. Large bed. Laundry. TV/music listening setup. Functional kitchen. Had everything we needed. Short walk to 3 different tram stations. Directly across the street from Vondelpark entrance. Many good restaurants/bars and several entertainment venues within a short walk. Quiet area, perfect retreat from craziness of city center. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you Michel!

Gracious host, wonderful apartment

Michel is a gracious host who welcomed us at the apartment and made us feel right at home. The apartment is spacious, comfortable and decorated with warm touches. For walkers, joggers or bicyclists, it’s adjacent to a large park, making it an easy walk or ride to some of the city’s main cultural treasures. Some great restaurants, cafes and shops are minutes away. An appealing spot from which to explore Amsterdam!

Lovely Place in a Quiet Neighborhood

Michel's place was just as advertised and was a great place to relax away from the hustle and bustle of the Central area. Close to transit, stores, shops, and restaurants we really couldn't have asked for more. Everything we needed was there and it was a lovely home away from. Michel was quite accommodating for our check in, was quick to answer questions, and was helpful for everything that we needed. Would definitely recommend!

Great apartment, well appointed kitchen, super location

We stayed in the flat for eight nights at the end of March. Michel met us as arranged and gave us a brief but thorough run through of the flat and its amenities. He was very apologetic that construction in the building was going on during our stay (in other units) but of course had no control over that. It was a bit noisy but only for a couple of hours a day and it didn't impact our stay at all. Michel has everything you need if you want to cook your own meals - which we did. So many utensils and pots/pans to use it was a pleasure. When we arrived there was milk, cheese, bread and other staples available for us to use. Very nice after a long flight from home! The floors are beautiful (I think mahogany) and as the unit is on the corner of the building so is filled with light. Trams are close by, the Vondelpark is right across the street and there are four excellent supermarkets close by. We will definitely recommend the location to family and friends and hope to return for another stay some day.

Great value apartment and an enjoyable stay

All the reviews are true. We were pleasantly surprised at how well appointed Michel's apartment is. We had stayed two nights in a hotel in the canal ring and wondered what could top that experience? Well, Michel's gracious hospitality, his comfortable, homely apartment in a very convenient location in a lovely neighbourhood certainly capped our time in Amsterdam. Michel was very prompt and responsive to my enquiries when I booked. When we arrived, he patiently answered our questions on how to get around by public transport around Amsterdam and also short trips out of the city. My husband attended a conference at the RAI and it was so convenient getting there using the tram and metro. I also made day trips to Utrecht, Haarlem and Leiden without having to go to Centraal Station which saved time. The neighbourhood is very pleasant with many fine restaurants and food shops. What we saved in accommodation costs, we spent on dining at Adam Restaurant, Parallel and Zus & Zus to name a few nearby restaurants. We also discovered Craft & Draft on Overtoom and a Belgian bar and bistro across the canal. There are so many places to eat on Amstelveenseweg and Overtoom. We counted no less than three supermarkets within a 10 minute walk from the apartment. There is also the wonderful Patisserie Linnick with its beautifully decorated cakes, pastries and chocolates. The Klopper & Stolk bakery is excellent with its range of breads and baked goods. If only we could have such a wide selection of shops in our neighbourhood at home. Michel's kitchen is well stocked if one wants to cook in. The washing machine, dryer and clothes rack (plus clothes pegs and laundry detergent) were very handy. The wifi was adequate for our needs and there was even a landline which came in handy for booking restaurants. We loved the long summer evenings spent looking out of the windows and watching the boats cruising along the canal. To echo other reviewers, we will gladly stay here again if we ever come back to Amsterdam.

A great place to stay

We really enjoyed the apartment for the 8 nights we stayed because of the combination of a number of things. It was very well represented by Michel, it fulfilled the things he said about it. It is very comfortable, a real home. The location is terrific if you want to avoid the crowds of central Amsterdam, the walk through the Vondelpark across the road to the museums is lovely, and the public transport options are extensive. There are good shopping options in the area and the apartment is well equipped for making meals. Michel is a responsive, helpful and engaging host. A great experience to go with the city of Amsterdam of which he is so proud!

Wonderful apartment!

Very nice host who met us at the apartment and explained how everything worked. Everything you need is here, very well equipped kitchen washer dryer that are easy to use. Lovely views out of the window in the dining area of a canal that runs behind the apartment. Very comfortable bed. The apartment is located about 3 miles from Amsterdam Central station and is near two different tram lines and two markets. If we return to Amsterdam would want to book again.

Beautiful stay in every way

Staying at Michel's was truly a five star experience. He was so gracious, thorough and helpful and always timely in responding to emails. The apartment was so lovely, I hardly wanted to leave! We enjoyed the sunsets from the dining room table and the kitchen was as well equipped as my home, which I Ioved, as we cooked "in" quite a bit. And the knives were sharp! The original art on the walls added to the beauty of the apartment. We also loved being across from the park and walked it every day. It was an easy walk to the Rijks Museum and the van Gogh Museum. The tram is not far and once we figured that out, was easy. We used the little "bistro" on the canal for a meal and the grocery store is not far. We also had a scary mishap. We left a backpack in the taxi, which had essential items in it. Michel stayed with us at the apartment, called many taxi companies and tracked it down, much to our relief! It was a memorable stay in beautiful Amsterdam.

Great location, canal view, gracious host

The 4th floor apartment is a spacious one-bedroom with full amenities (including an elevator) just across the street from the eastern end of the Vondelpark. My desire was ease of access to the Museums on the Museumplein without residing in an area dominated by tourists, which is provided by this apartment. Also, access to Schiphol is convenient by bus or train (from the Lelylann station). The big windows on the north and west sides of the apartment are also a plus. I will definitely be staying here again when I return to Amsterdam.
