Comfortable apartment in ancient house

The apartment holds what the pictures promise and more... It is a lovely spacious place to stay, comfortable, clean and with lots of details (cookies on the table, toothbrush in case you forget your own,...). Situated in the centre of the old part of Bergamo you can reach everything by foot. Mariella also has a lot of tips where to go, what to see, where to eat,... and is helpful for any further questions. Thanks for a wonderful time and hope to see you soon!

Perfetto per noi

wir haben sehr gerne in einer sehr komfortablen Wohnung in einem alten Palazzo gewohnt, unweit des Zentrums von Bergamo Alta mit kurzen Wegen zu Cafés, Restaurants, Kultur und Sehenswürdigkeiten. Mariella war uns in jeder Hinsicht außerordentlich hilfreich, besonders als kurzfristig noch 2 Personen dazu gekommen sind. Wir kommen gerne wieder nach Bergamo und auch zu "Il Pozzo"

"Die Wohnung ist wundersc...

"Die Wohnung ist wunderschön, wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Alles war sehr sauber, besser kann man es sich nicht wünschen. Die Lage ist optimal, Besorgungen für das Frühstück sind schnell erledigt, abends ist man schnell bei den Lokalen, alles ohne Auto. Parken ist durch den Ausweis, den wir kostenlos erhalten haben, gut möglich. Wir bedanken und ganz herzlich bei Mariella und Ihrem Sohn, bessere Vermieter kann man sich nicht wünschen!"

"Mariella ist eine sehr nette, unkomplizierte und hilfsbereite Vermieterin. Wir würden jederzeit wieder dort wohnen, sollten wir noch einmal nach Bergamo fahren, für ein verlängertes Wochenende oder ähnlich. Die Stadt hat uns so gut gefallen - naturalmente sopratutto la città alta - dass wir 3 Tage dort geblieben sind und gar keinen Abstecher nach Mailand gemacht haben."

Best place in Bergamo!

My family and I enjoyed our stay in Bergamo at this lovely home. It wasn't as modern as the other places we stayed but it was so great to be in the Citta Alta and be in walking distance to everywhere. Parking was a little tricky but luckily the property manager helped us out. Overall, it was a nice stay!

Accueil sommaire et expéditif. Appartement très bruyant, rue pavée avec beaucoup de passage de véhicules. Appartement glacial, non chauffé, les jours d'automne à 20°C n'ont pas réussi à mettre un peu de chaleur pour compenser les nuits à 12, 15°C ! Propreté douteuse (poils, ongles...) !!!

lovely stay

While this is a traditional-style older apartment in a very historic building, it was comfortable, sunny, clean and homey. We had everything we needed for an extended stay and Maria was very helpful. Location was great with easy access to Citta Alta or the lower city. A bus stop was nearby and the bus system in Bergamo is robust and easy to use. Note that the street is noisy with cars and motor bikes, but that is normal for the area.

You won't be disappointed

In addition to the rated categories, we would add that both Mariella and her collaborator Giovanna were immediately responsive and very helpful. Parking can be a problem so the best bet is their reserved spot in protected garage. Apartment is located part way up a narrow cobblestone road that is fairly steep but the location is great for access to both the upper and lower town. The apartment is spacious, very clean, light (even at night). The pictures don't do it justice.

Perfect place to stay in Bergamo

The pictures in this listing don’t do justice to this beautiful, light and personally decorated Bergamo apartment, and the location couldn’t be better! The apartment was a lovely mix of the architecture one would expect in Citti Alta, and the right contemporary features to make it feel comfortable and spacious. My family of five (three kids) loved staying here, and we appreciated the extra bathroom to spread out, as well as the large drying rack to catch up on a bit of laundry. The apartment is in a neighborhood location, just down the hill from Piazza Vecchia, so the perfect starting point for all kinds of exploration! There is some road noise, but those who prefer quiet to sleep need only close the windows, which open all along the front of the apartment from each bedroom and the living area. It was hot while we were there, so the window breeze was a must! One of my three kids slept on the pull-out couch, which was an amazing design, and exceptionally comfortable – comparable to a regular bed, rather than what one would expect of a pull-out! The apartment is clean and spacious with plenty of towels, etc. We ate out, rather than cook while on vacation, and had a fabulous meal at Il Sole, which Mariella recommended. We walked 6.5-8 miles/day during our 2-night/3-day visit, and found this apartment to be amazing to “come home” to. Mariella graciously checked us in, showed us the apartment and gave us tips and mapped directions. After meeting at the apartment to drop our luggage, she led my husband to the car park, where the car sat til we left. Everything we wanted to see was just steps (literally and figuratively) from this spot. There is so much so see all around Piazza Vecchia and the upper city; in our three days we only ventured far enough down for the fun of riding the funiculare back up. We loved our stay in this gem of an apartment and would happily both recommend and stay here again. Thank you to Mariella for your hospitality!

Excellent séjour à Bergame

L'appartement est magnifique et très propre. Il y a 2 chambres avec chacune sa salle de bain. L'appartement est très bien équipé. Situé en plein centre de la ville haute c'était l'idéal. Mariella est d'une très grande gentillesse et disponible, elle nous a bien accueilli et nous a aidé à garer notre voiture. Tout était parfait.

Wonderful space, fantastic location.

Beautiful spacious rooms, every detail thought of. The upper city of Bergamo is a great vacation spot with as much density of history and great food as you can find anywhere, right outside the door. Make dinner reservations - some of the best restaurants are tiny and people come from all over to eat there. Quick trip by train to Milan and to the beautiful Lake Como region too. Can't name a place I've enjoyed more.

Right under high city. Makes easy to walk everywhere.

Owner was on vacation but Georgia met us and gave us great suggestions including dining in the park and a great restaurant with lunch deal. If you drive park farther away in piazza tirabashi as parking on San Tomas is confusing and not well marked. Apartment is in old building but apartment very modern. In summer you need to leave windows open at night and is noisy. If your used to cities it is not an issue. Bergamo is very cool town.

Great property. Has all the charm of a historic building, but with modern updates and comforts.

The photos do not do justice to the beauty of this home. It is a beautiful place, in a perfect location of the upper city. Very easy to access by car, then park your automobile and walk to all areas of upper city. The property is nicely remodeled to maintain its period details, but provide modern bathroom/kitchen amenities.

Beautiful in every way

Mariella's apartment was clean, large, and light-filled! It met our needs completely. We had plenty of room to spread out in the beautifully and tastefully decorated space. The well-stocked kitchen allowed our group of 5 adults to prepare breakfast each day and a few dinners, as well. Mariella met us on arrival to give us a tour of the apartment and a special parking permit for our rental car. Mariella is a lovely and thoughtful host--gracious and informative.

Charming Apartment in Citta Alta Bergamo

Mariella was a wonderful host - picked me up at the bus stop when I arrived. The apartment was spotless, and is very central in the old city. Bergamo itself is lovely. I would certainly rent it again.
