Northwinds Adventures - Neu renovierte Scheune im Herzen des Keweenaw

Finden Sie Ruhe und Frieden in dieser brandneuen, 2014 renovierten Scheune, die früher ein Gänsejägerlager war. Diese gemütliche und einladende Scheune befindet sich auf dem Grundstück von Northwinds Adventures (ein ganzjähriges Camp) und bietet alles von innen und außen. Sobald Sie eintreten, werden Sie mit den wunderschönen Parkettböden aus Tennessee-Eichenholz begrüßt. Das Erdgeschoss besteht aus einem freistehenden Holzkamin, neuen Geräten (Kühlschrank, Herd, Mikrowelle), Kaffeemaschine, allen zum Kochen benötigten Töpfen und Pfannen, Eichenvertäfelung, einer neuen Schlafcouch (Bettwäsche NICHT vorhanden), Satellitenfernsehen und einem halbes Bad. Im Obergeschoss finden Sie ein großes Hauptschlafzimmer mit Queensize-Bett (Bettwäsche wird gestellt), Futon im Sitzbereich (Bettwäsche wird nicht gestellt), Ahornverkleidung und eine Badewanne (ebenerdige Dusche) mit Waschmaschine / Trockner. Machen Sie auf der oberen Ebene einen Spaziergang auf dem Deck und genießen Sie den wunderschönen Ausblick, der nur einen Teil des Grundstücks zeigt.

Für begeisterte Schneemobilfahrer gibt es die wichtigsten Schneemobilwege, die 5 km entfernt sind (über eine Nebenstraße erreichbar). * Wegen der Überschwemmung im Jahr 2019 ist der Bill Nicholas Trail geschlossen und es sind 8 km bis zu Trail 3.

Cozy and Comfortable Cabin

Lovely location and views with all the comforts of home. The wood burning Franklin stove was a plus. My second stay here but my go to when I am in the UP.

Perfect Post-Holiday Unwind

Peaceful, quiet, relaxing place to recover after the holidays! Not far from town so we could pick up groceries and not have to leave again! Snowshoeing the trails on the property is always a beautiful treat! Our favorite place to stay!

Consistently Wonderful

We return to Da Barn year after year and have a consistently wonderful stay! The place is always clean and inviting! We love the wood stove, walking trails, kitchen supplies, and proximity to town. Michelle's communication is always top notch and her local suggestion booklet always leads us to finding a new favorite each time we visit! Cannot recommend staying here enough!

Another fabulous stay!

This is our fifth stay at Da Barn and it was just as wonderful as the first four. The place is always clean, comfortable (bed), and convenient (location)! Anybody looking to stay here will not be disappointed.

Peaceful stay

Cozy Barn Cabin

Easter with my MTU student

This was a great location near MTU (about 15 minute drive). The kitchen had every kind of pot/pan I needed. We enjoyed the property and the cozy feel of the place. I would stay again.

Great place close to MTU and all the beauty of the UP

We stayed the weekend to visit our MTU daughter. It was a perfect location- very quiet, easy to find. Very comfortable to come back and relax. Upstairs porch perfect for watching the moon and stars.

Peaceful Escape to the Country

Comfortable, cozy and reasonably well appointed. Darn good kitchen and tools. Only suggestion would be to add a hot pot! We loved sitting out on the deck and overlooking the countryside; it was good for the soul! And, of course, lots to do in the area. We stayed 3 nights and were able to go up the peninsula and explore Houghton-Hancock. It was just what we needed.

Winterfest at MTU

Beautiful location not too far from campus activities. While we didn’t spend too much time at the gouse it was clean and had a nice amount of space and two bathrooms! Always nice for getting ready in the mornings with ladies! We are looking forward to exploring more of the area in the coming years and Da Barn was a fun spot to stay!

Refreshing Winter Weekend

What a fantastic weekend! The barn looked great in pictures, but was even better in person. I am Tech graduate, so my wife and I have been looking for a place to stay when we visit, and this is definitely the place. We will be back again I'm sure!

Carl and I both have roots to Wisconsin as that is where we grew up and went to school. We lived in small family businesses our whole lives. Mine was the grocery business and Carl electrical manufacturing. Currently, Carl is a shareholder of 2 family businesses in Pulaski, WI. After we bought the property, the decision was made to move to Houghton and live on the property in order to fulfill our dream of building a camp. Our work continues to grow day in and day out with the many opportunities this property gives us.

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

Sitting on 220 acres, with a 10 acre lake, it was 'love' at first site. We purchased the property and 3 months later my husband brainstormed the idea of starting an outdoor bible camp for high school kids, church groups, or sport teams. Already being a big supporter to Camp Luther, in Three Lakes, WI, Carl started the plan to make this area their base camp. With an old barn that hunters used stayed in, an old homestead, a 600 square foot cabin, and double wide home residing on the property, it became clear there was much work to be done. Having the vision of creating something great, we began the construction of a pavilion, addition to cabin, and complete gut out of the barn. With these projects done, new ones continue to begin in transforming the property into a premiere camp for kids.
The barn stands alone as it is a quarter mile away from the camp. Looking out from the upper deck on the barn, you can enjoy watching the geese fly in on the pond that also lies on the property. A great spot to watch some wildlife.

Bookings are on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE basis!

With numerous apple trees on the property, you can go out and pick apples then enjoy making your very own apple pie or cider.

The 10 acre lake provides great catch and release fishing of brook trout, rainbow trout, perch and walleye. Oh, and did I mention the name of the lake is called 'Love Lake.'

The Renters Beach! During the summer months when we host campers for the Keweenaw Base Camp, this beach will serve as our renters only beach on the lake. While the campers will enjoy the beach by pavilion, our renters can enjoy a private, sand beach with park style grills, picnic tables, and their own paddle boards/kayaks for rent.
