Our seven-night stay at Captain's Quarters Cottage on Nob Hill in Waimea was absolutely idyllic. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the breathtaking views. Stepping out onto the little deck, Mauna Kea stood majestically in front of us, and from the rear pa, we could see the Kohala coastline stretching out towards the ocean. It was truly a sight to behold, especially during the sunrise. The cottage itself was immaculate. I mean, truly spotless. It felt like we were the first guests to ever stay there. Everything was so clean and well-maintained. The kitchen was surprisingly well-equipped; we cooked several meals, and found everything we needed right at our fingertips. The king-size bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring we had restful nights, which were wonderfully cool thanks to the Waimea climate. We barely needed to use the provided extra blankets.Speaking of the climate, it was perfect. The cool, crisp air was a welcome change from the heat we'd experienced elsewhere on the island. We loved opening the windows and letting the fresh breezes flow through the cottage. The quiet and peaceful atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for. We read, relaxed, and simply enjoyed the tranquility. We did take note of the steep driveway, as mentioned in other reviews. Our SUV handled it fine, just take it slow and steady, and you'll be fine. The location was incredibly convenient, just a short drive into to many beaches and sights.
