In einer Zeit, in der viele Urlaubsorte überbaut und überfüllt sind, bietet The King's Cottage den perfekten Rückzugsort inmitten der Ruhe des wunderschönen North Woods. Das King's Cottage wurde auf einem 80 Hektar großen Waldgrundstück erbaut, das von Naturpfaden durchzogen ist und zwei von Quellen gespeiste Seen umfasst. Die moderne, holzgetäfelte Hütte bietet Platz für vier Personen in ihren zwei Schlafzimmern. Die Gruppe kann jedoch auch größer sein, wenn ein paar von Ihnen auf dem Campingplatz neben dem kleineren See campen möchten.

Es gibt genug direkt auf dem Grundstück, um Ihren Tag zu füllen. Wenn Sie etwas Lesematerial mitgebracht haben, können Sie sich einfach in den Schaukelstühlen auf der abgeschirmten Veranda entspannen. Vielleicht möchten Sie von einem Ruderboot auf dem kleineren See oder von einem Kanu auf dem größeren See auf Bluegill und Bass angeln. Sie können durch den Wald gehen oder ruhig auf der Aussichtsbank sitzen. Halten Sie die Augen offen für wild lebende Tiere - Hirsche, Kojoten, Rotfuchs, Biber und Bären sowie Auerhahn und viele andere Vogelarten - nennen Sie dieses Haus! Im Winter gibt es Langlauf.

Nach 800 m erreichen Sie den Bearskin Creek zum Forellenfischen oder den Bearskin Bike Trail. Der Pinewood Country Club mit seinem 18-Loch-Golfplatz und dem Dinner Theatre ist 3,2 km entfernt. Die Geschäfte und Restaurants von Minocqua, Tomahawk und Rhinelander erreichen Sie nach etwa 24 km in verschiedene Richtungen. Einer unserer zufriedenen Gäste sagte: "Dies ist ein großartiger Ort, um dem Alltag zu entfliehen und trotzdem in der Lage zu sein, zurückzukehren."

Die Liegenschaft befindet sich in gleichem Abstand von Minocqua, Rhinelander und Tomahawk. Es grenzt an den Bearskin State Bike Trail an. Es befindet sich in der Nähe des American Legend State Forest und des Willow Flowage (über 600 ha großer kanadischer Wildnissee mit fast 160 km Sandstrand und bewaldeter Küste).

Ideal Scenic Northwoods Setting

I'm very satisfied with the accommodations of King's Cottage. During my recent stay, I visited multiple nearby parks for cross-country-skiing. The wood stove sauna was a great luxury during my stay after my long cross country ski sessions.

Kings Cottage

Again we had a wonderful time at the cottage. This was our second year. The stay was peaceful and quiet just what the doctor ordered. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a beautiful fairytale like environment that replenishes the soul.

Kings Cottage

The Secluded cottage was well maintained. The property had abundant wildlife to keep us entertained. I would recommend King's Cottage to any one looking for a quiet place to stay. Also, the tourist destinations are only a short drive away.

A little piece of heaven

Absolutely beautiful Northwoods properrty! The forest and lakes here are the perfect getaway to unplug and recharge. The cabin was clean, maintained well, and has all the charm of a cabin up north. Bed was extremely comfortable. Loved hiking the property and surrounding trails. Nighttime bonfires listening to the sounds of nature was the best way to end each day!

Peaceful retreat

Impeccably clean and well stocked cabin. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay despite a 24 hour rain. Great access to trails on and off the property. Would stay again!

Harshaw Cottage

Our stay at this cottage was great. Our entire family enjoyed the stay including our 2 dogs. It was calming and private and beautiful country. I even made a 10 minute video of the lake at 5:30 am with the beautiful scenery and wilderness sounds to play back later at home. I would recommend this location to anyone.

Cosy and serene cottage

Our stay was quiet and we saw no one near the property our entire stay until an hour before we left when a woman on a horse went by. It was great having lakes front and back, also no one else around

Family vacation

The cabin is very clean and cozy and has everything needed for a family of 4 to have a comfortable stay. Our boys are fishing enthusiasts and the front lake provided a lot of entertainment- they caught bass, bluegill, and crappie (once they studied up on how to fish a bog). They also swam. Both lakes on the property are beautiful and very peaceful. We were able to access the back lake ok, but other trails on the property were overgrown and probably better in other seasons of the year. Nearby access to beautiful Bearskin trail was a plus. We also fished with a guide in Minoqua, and had a great time. Fishing from the banks at nearby Rainbow Reservoir was also good. Overall this was a great vacation and we would come again! Only negative: the mosquitos are bad but we were prepared with bug spray.

Very nice location. Cabin is basic, with an old-time feel that we liked. More like 2 standard beds, than a queen and standard bed. There's a futon in the kitchen/living room too.

Cabin is nice. However property is split by a public road, it’s a dirt road, but it’s not a driveway. It’s pretty dead, but some people run utvs or horses down it. Due to this, we couldn’t let our dogs run as we expected to be able to. When the listing said 80 acres, our assumption was that it was a little bit more isolated. Though it was an assumption…. The lakes are very pretty, and can be used for swimming. However not super great for dogs. They’re essentially on Bogs, so where you get in on the big lake it’s instantly super deep, no 0 foot entry. The smaller lake has a very small area that you can get in, but there’s lots of logs to climb over. I would say the lakes are best suited for simply rowing or paddle boating, we were not able to find any fish in any of them. The listing says bluegill and bass, but we didn’t see any bait fish or anything. Just frogs. The best part of the property is the location. Right between Tomahawk Rhinelander and Minocqua, we were able to make our way to each of those places. Tomahawk for the races, Minocqua for the zoo and horseback riding, and Rhinelander for dinner. Communication was interesting, it was extremely good when I booked the trip, the host even sends you a packet in the mail with information. But when I asked a few questions after our arrival, I didn’t get any communication. I’m assuming there was probably a reason, maybe the host is on vacation himself or maybe there were some other reason.

Perfect Getaway

We spent four nights at this lovely cabin. Situated in a secluded area, it was perfect for getting away from all the noise in the world right now. The cabin was VERY clean and had everything we needed. This was our first time vacationing with our 1-year-old pup, and he had an absolute blast. The only bummer was those pesky mosquitos and ticks, but we came prepared with plenty of bug spray and mixed up a 50:50 concoction of apple cider vinegar and water with a few drops of lavender essential oil for the dog, which actually seemed to help. Took out the paddle boat one day and walked the property daily, even took a quick dip in the lake when the temps hit the low 80s one day. Very "refreshing." LOL! Day trip to Minocqua to hike the Bearskin Trail gave us a mosquito/tick reprieve. There was plenty of wood for a campfire. The screened porch with rocking chairs was perfect for reading and just chilling. The only thing I would change is the futon in the living room, as it was quite uncomfortable. We would love to return and experience all the seasons there! (P.S. Heard and the saw the resident porcupine everyone was writing about in the guest book. Amazing!)

A True Gem in the Northwoods

We came up to the Northwoods with my parents (and our pups) to scout out potential property for a future family vacation spot. We instantly fell in love with Richard’s cabin. It was everything you’d hope for in a cozy little cabin for our quick weekend trip. It was incredibly well stocked (probably one of the best I’ve ever stayed in) and incredibly clean. The location was a perfect spot for us to explore the nearby areas. And so incredibly peaceful and quiet. There was too much snow to explore the beautiful property, but we hope to come back in the summer or fall to stay again and do some exploring. We loved every minute here and were incredibly sad to leave. This property really sets a bar for what we are looking for in our future Northwoods retreat!

Winter Wonderland

We had SUCH a wonderful time! My husband and I came up for a long weekend with our 3 dogs, spent the whole time hiking in the northwoods, snowboarding, watching dog sled races, and smashing fish frys. Richards place was MUCH nicer than I expected. The cabin was super clean and cozy. We kept a fire in the wood burning stove and snuggled the pups and read from books in their bathroom library…highly recommend reading “how to talk like a Minnesotan.” Richard was really responsive and answers any question you have before you ever need to ask it. We went in the middle of a snow storm and the roads were actually plowed to get back there too, and it was apparent someone had recently plowed his driveway which we totally weren’t expecting. OH! Also, the sauna was amazing. I’m so tired of all these dumb infrared saunas….Richards sauna ideas the real deal. Fire, hot rocks, and water, and it smells like cedar once it’s heated up. We would sit in the sauna til we were sweating and then run outside and roll around in the snow per the directions. True Wisconsinites. Thank you for the stay Richard!
