Das Azalea Cottage ist ein kürzlich renoviertes Haus mit 3 Schlafzimmer, 1 Badezimmer mit WC und 1 WC. Das Haus ist für bis zu 8 Personen (mit 3 Betten und einem Schlafsofa). Eine Waschmaschine und Trockner für Ihre Bequemlichkeit enthalten. Entspannen Sie auf der Veranda Schaukel. Zug-Beobachter sind bequem zu Fuß erreichbar (2 Blocks) des Zuges beobachten Plattform, sowie die Eisenbahnmuseum in der Innenstadt von Folkston. Der Okefenokee Swamp, ist ein nur 8 Meile fahren, wo man eine wunderschöne Aussicht genießen können und sehen, eine Vielzahl von Wildtieren (einschließlich Alligatoren). Machen Sie eine geführte Bootstour auf den Sumpf oder ein Boot mieten und Tour den Sumpf in Ihrem eigenen Tempo. Genießen Sie auch den erhöhten Holzsteg durch den Sumpf und den Turm besteigen am Ende für einen weiten Blick auf den Sumpf. Ein informatives Besucherzentrum werden Sie und Ihre Familie über den Sumpf und seine Tierwelt zu erziehen.

Weekend wedding trip

Quick trip to attend a family wedding and it was like staying at my grandmothers house. Had everything we needed and very comfortable. Downtown is two blocks and has very nice places to eat. Thank you for the hospitality!

Great Location

This is such a great place to stay. It is within walking distance of local restaurants and shops. Grocery store just down the road. About an hour to Florida beaches or go north to Georgia beaches. There are mature trees in the yard and they are beautiful.

Lovely cottage, well supplied with the necessities. Would definitely recommend it to friends.

Quaint southern cottage. Centrally located to St Mary's Ga and Jacksonville, Fl.. Folkston is a small town in southern Georgia with a great history of trains. The Whistling Dixie restaurant is great, staff are great! Nice little town to explore! Great bike trails all around and the Okeechobee Swamp is right down the road, a great place to spend the day! Enjoyed our time at Azalea Cottage!

Clean home. Older, but very quaint and comfortable. Well stocked with coffee pot, toaster, pots and pans, dishes. Quite noisy because the train tracks are approximately 200 yards away. Took some getting used to but after the first night, it wasn’t an issue.

Great country home!!

My family and I enjoyed our stay while being in town for the passing of loved ones. Great country home that even had a beautiful pear tree in the yard. We would definitely book again if needed. Folkston is my childhood town. We were surprised to find a place!

More than we imagined

Reluctant to tell how good this cottage is in case it's not free the next time we want to book it! Much nicer than we imagined it would be, Azalea Cottage is in a great location, has all you need for a few days or a longer stay. And if you are into railways it's just a couple of minutes walk to the Funnel viewing area.

Cute and spacious house

We used the house as a base camp for our sightseeing. Spent time in various towns in the area, including Savannah. We enjoyed exploring southern Georgia. We even got used to all the train noise and police sirens which were plentiful in Folkston. The only thing about the house was it could have been cleaner. We left it in better shape than when we arrived.

Great Stay, Clean House, Great Location

Myself, two of my sons and 3 of my grandsons stayed at Azalea Cottage for a hunting weekend at our hunting lease (only 12 minutes from our lease). This is a great place, comfortable, clean and perfect for our needs. There is ample parking in the yard which was great for our trailer with the side by side. Although we didn't cook, the kitchen is stocked with pots, pans and dishes. The house is an old house, which we knew and expected, but it is kept up very well. As stated in other reviews, a mainline train track is a couple hundred yards away and the trains come by the house frequently. Not sure how some may take it but it never bothered any of us during our stay. The host Tracey responds back quickly on both emails and phone calls. The house is part of her family history and she is very attentive to her guest's needs. Not only would I stay here again, I am 100% sure that we will be staying here again. Thank you again Tracey.

Good location for exploring Okefenokee and Folkston

We enjoyed our stay at this property and highly recommend it. It was the perfect set up for us to use as a home base to explore the Okefenokee Swamp (east park access). The kids also enjoyed walking over to the Folkston Railfan park and exploring the town. It was super easy to walk to restaurants and train viewing platform. It is a lovely, sleepy little town. The house was very clean and comfortable. It is old but you can tell it has been well maintained and loved over the years and has updates where needed. We loved hearing the trains go by at night but expect to get woken up by them or the noise from the road the house sits on occasionally if you are a light sleeper.

Overall not too bad.

Overall our stay was nice. The host is totally upfront about all the train watching opportunities/closeness to the tracks ect... I guess we were naive about the level of noise that happens at all hours. On some multi engine long trains....the house will vibrate and windows rattle. You will hear long air horn blasts from trains. 2 to three go by from 10pm-5am. There are also lots of sirens for a small town and you are on a main road in town with semi trucks. It was not easy sitting/talking outside during weekdays. Again....the host was fine, but this was not the best stay for us but I can see where train lovers would be thrilled here.

Quaint, cozy, and just right

Me, my husband, my sister and her husband stayed at the Azalea Cottage in Folkston, GA for two nights. The cottage is adorable and takes a step back in time. Check-in and check-out were super easy. Loved the updated appliances like the toaster. Quiet location and within great proximity of the Okefenokee Swamp entrance!
