Big Bear Lodge Stay November 2024

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Cabin was very roomy and clean. The office and maintenance very helpful. The cabin is listed to house 30 plus people but there is very little comfortable seating on any of the levels for more than 3 or 4 people at one time. We took a family of 14 and we not able to be together except at the table while eating. The cabin beside played VERY LOUD music starting early morning until very late at night. This made our stay not very peaceful, but also was not the responsibility of our cabin company or owners. Overall, I would recommend this cabin and use it again.

The drive to get up to the cabin isn’t horrible, but probably isn’t for the faint of heart. It was off the beaten path, but pretty central to Gatlinburg and pigeon forge. It takes about a half hour to get anywhere, just because of how slow you have to drive on some of the roads. The only thing I could really complain about is that the mattresses are rock hard. That’s a big deterrent for my family and I, and we likely won’t stay at big bear lodge again, because of this.

This cabin is clean and has comfortable beds with many entertainment options. The hot tub didn't work when we arrived, but was fixed extremely quickly when we called in the problem and it was enjoyed for the rest of our stay. The kitchen could use a few more cooking pans/pots for larger quantities, but we were able to make do. It's not luxurious, but is comfortable, clean and cosy with lots of wood and nature accents. Enjoyable stay!

Stay at Big Bear Lodge

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: During our stay, we experienced some difficulties with the heating and water. After two technicians came out, we were told that one of the units were frozen and this is why we did not have hot water or heat. We were in the cabin for about 16hrs with little to no heat or hot water. On Friday, around 10am it was fixed. However, Friday night around 12am, the cabin dropped back down to below 60 when it was below 40 outside. Due to the inconsistency of the temperature, my youngest child is now sick. Otherwise from the heating and hot water issue, we enjoyed our stay. Cabin was clean, in a central location, and the staff was eager and willing to help us during our stay.

This cabin is beautiful and really utilizes all the space by keeping the bedrooms tucked back and easy access to bathrooms with plenty of living space!! It’s a super close and easy drive to both downtown Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. I will definitely be using this company again with the great customer service I received! The original dates got cancelled due to COVID-19 and they were super easy and fast and giving me a voucher and helping me rebook the place for a different time!!! The customer service even sent me numerous other cabins to accommodate our large group of this one wasn’t available that weekend. :)

The house is 3 stories, and really is a great setup to accommodate big groups!There's a pool table & foosball table on the top floor (that was where the younger folks slept so they could play pool all night)A big projector screen on the middle floor (some of the older crowd enjoyed watching movies and TV on the projector and they were away from the noisy pool table, but also had a foosball table on the middle floor to use).And then the lower level had the kitchen and that was where the remainder of the older crowd slept as it was the furthest from the pool table. The kitchen was spacious and well equipped, the hot tub was BIG, and the house was really great overall. The dining table on the lower level is HUGE and accommodated everyone in our group. Washer & Dryer was a nice touch as well!All 3 levels had huge decks, and the view from the top level is AMAZING... seriously, AMAZING.Our only complaint would be the house needs a bit more furniture... just armchairs, or additional couches, as well as nightstands or end tables. The second floor has just one couch, which makes watching TV a bit of a bummer if more than 2-3 people want to watch something.The property was only about 17 minutes to Gatlinburg, 17 minutes to Pigeon Forge, and about 20 minutes to Sevierville. Great central location! The road up to the house is a little daunting for people who have never been on Tennessee mountain roads, but nobody made any errors in our group. It is a bit steep and has a couple turns that would definitely be a challenge in wet or icy conditions, but fortunately the weather was decent enough during our stay.If we ever had another big group gathering again, I would definitely lean toward booking this cabin. It really was an awesome experience.

Big Bear, its beautifully luscious chestnut wood covered only partly by the tree of epic collaborated proportion. Overall a good stay, but some issues.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This cabin is in a wonderful location, has a great view and is very pretty itself.The management company makes things easy and are very responsive to the customer before and during the stay.However, the cabin has some short comings.While it is listed as sleeping 32, while it is true you could sleep 32, the amenities of the cabin would not support it. The hot water heater was too small for my group of 12, so much that we thought the heater might had broken. Maintenance came out promptly to have a look, and let us know it was working but was nowhere near large enough and would get a note in to the owners to upgrade it (good luck future groups!).The other issue we had was a lack of seating on floors 2 and 3. It would be good to add in a few extra chairs.

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We arrived at check-in time to be told we had to wait an hour to get in; after we got inside found the hot tub was not working and wouldn't be fixed. The power went out and we had no light, water, AC etc. Went to find a store to get flashlights and water bottles, and the road was blocked. Tried to call a number of times to the "24/7 monitored" maintenance line as well chatted with the website and got no response til hours after the power came back the following day. Quite the nightmare, with 21 people! Otherwise the place was comfortable enough.
