3-Zimmer-Hütte am Seeufer am Lake Santeetlah, NC. Private Dock, schöne Aussicht, auf ruhige Insel mit nur 6 Häuser. See Santeetlah verfügt über 76 Meilen Küstenlinie, aber nur etwa 2 Meilen entwickelt wird - der Rest ist National Forest. Sehr ruhig und friedlich. Ideal für Familien, Wassersportarten, Angeln, Bootfahren. Große Wandern, Kajakfahren, Camping und Outdoor-Sportarten in der Nähe. Angeln umfasst Schwarzbarsch, Forellenbarsch, Zander, crappie, Brassen und Seeforelle.

Es gibt über 200 Meilen von Wanderwegen in der Gegend, und man kann sich etwa acht Meilen von Lake Santeetlah auf dem Appalachian Trail wandern.

Die nahe gelegene Cheoah Fluss ist für seine Klasse IV und V Stromschnellen festgestellt.

See Santeetlah grenzt an ein Teil des US-129 genannt Schwanz des Drachen, einer Straße, die häufig für Erholungszwecke mit dem Motorrad und Sportwagen-Enthusiasten verwendet wegen seiner angeblichen 318 Kurven in 11 Meilen.

Spectacular

Wonderful place, perfect house. As soon as you walk in you’re blown away with the amazing views of Lake Santeetlah. Wonderful location for beautiful drives through the mountains and more hiking nearby than you could possibly fit into one week. I recommend a trip to see the three nearby dams (Santeetlah, Cheoha, and Fontana). The house was very clean, very comfortable beds, everything you need and much more. Kitchen was very well appointed. No issues, no complaints, responsive hosts.We look forward to coming back to stay again.

Beautiful Lake Home

The Han House home was beautifully decorated, very well stocked and very clean. The views of the Lake from every room were beautiful. Our family of 9 had a great week at this Lake house. We have rented on Lake Santeetlah every summer for over 15 years. This house is by far the best rental we have stayed in on Lake Santeetlah. We appreciate the cleanliness and fully stocked kitchen as no other house on the Lake we have rented comes close to house. We will be repeat renters. The Gerrell’s Crawfordville, FL

Best location on the lake

The check in process was seamless. The lockbox worked as described. The home was spotlessly clean. The beds were comfortable and the linens were very nice. The kitchen was very well stocked with not only dishes, serving wear, pots and pan, but also spices and oils and vinegar. But the view is the reason we came and we were not disappointed. It is fabulous. We thoroughly enjoyed the dock and the lake. We even rented a pontoon boat for a couple days. We want to come back again!!!!

Primo Lakefront Cottage!

Our group of six adults had a relaxing week at the Han Cottage. It lives up to the claim of “Best Location On Lake”! The cottage is comfortable for lounging during T-storms with a kitchen set up for group cooking. The deck is the place to hang for morning coffee and meals. The swim dock almost reigns supreme, second only to being in the lake. We recommend bringing camp chairs for the dock. Swim noodles and stand-up paddle boards for the water. Other activities were morning walks or runs. Road cycling including Cherohala Skyway and Maple Springs. Found some nice swimming holes in river, too. Russell, the owner, was accommodating and rental navigation was with ease.

A great stay

We had a great stay. The setting of the house is gorgeous - felt very private when in the house and on the deck. Sitting on the deck, you can really only see a bit of the house next door. Otherwise you are staring out at the quiet lake and the undeveloped shore on the other side. There were a couple of times we could hear music coming from neighbors, but it wasn't late at night so not a big deal. The house itself is as described - "old-school-cottage" in terms of furnishings but comfortable and spacious. I had a bit of trouble reaching Russell but it was never urgent so not that big of a deal. One tip - write down or print out the directions because your GPS probably won't take you to the address provided and you might not have cell service as you approach the lake.

Great view but dated

The neighborhood and lake access is wonderful. Kitchen well supplied with plenty of cookware. Furnishings are old and mixed mash, handles come off dressers, and carpet needs thorough cleaning. Plenty of towels but shower curtain liners need replacing. Microwave started sparking and contacted owner but received no reply. Access to a dock was what made the trip. Great neighborhood for walking and felt very safe.

Lake Santeetlah Cottage

Nice property with a beautiful view, perhaps a little dated. We enjoyed our stay however there were a few small issues, one being that there was not a automatic drip coffee maker available as listed, only a Keurig with a missing cover for the water tank. Had we of known we would have bought a coffee maker prior to check-in as we stopped at Ingles on the way. My husband had to go back first thing in the morning to buy a coffee maker. That being said, we enjoyed the property and even saw an otter down by the dock.

Perfect Fall Getaway

We very much enjoyed our stay. So relaxing on the deck with perfect fall color view and smooth as glass lake. House was comfortable and it is always a special extra treat that we can take our dog along with us. We made some great meals and enjoyed walking the trail. Owner communication was excellent. Fall trip

Older home but perfect for a family get away to the lake in the mountains. The view from the deck and dock are priceless. If you want a cabin on the lake feel this is it. Don't tell anyone! We will book again.

Comfortable cabin with fantastic views

This property is located right on the lake with fantastic views of the mountains all around. The cabin is cozy, clean and well stocked. We felt very comfortable here and loved swimming and boating on the lake. If you like nature, there is lots to see and do in the area. We took several scenic drives and three wonderful hikes. We were looking for a place to get away from it all due to COVID-19 and this was the perfect getaway.

Simply Perfect

This is the family lake house everyone wish they had in their family. It felt like going to Nana's house and we loved every minute of it. The lake and view are unparalleled and the accommodations comfortable. Having Wifi was a bonus and even better was having a cell phone signal! For those with small kids or old dogs, we did have one issue with the deck--our older dog fell from the deck while sleeping as there is no railing under the bench that surrounds it. It's just something to be aware of. We would love to return!

Wonderful and relaxing

The cottage was wonderful for our family. The huge living room and large kitchen made our vacation relaxed with plenty of room for everyone. The canoe and swimming in the lake was marvelous. We will be back.

Perfect location

The house was true to the description and very comfortable. Windows graced the length of the spacious great room, yielding a clear view of the lake and ample light.The spacious deck and dock were the keynotes to this rental, affording Southern views , a lovely swimming cove, and access to the main body of the lake. Communication with the rental agent was smooth and timely. The driveway was very manageable (not severely sloped as some houses are on Lake Santeetlah.) This was our second time renting a home in this community, and we would return to this house again.

Paradise Lake

We enjoyed a week of quiet beautiful tranquility on the nicest lake in the Southeast. The cabin is clean and nothing fancy. Boat dock is a plus. We rented a boat from Santeetlah Marina a half mile away. Good fishing also on the lake and nearby creeks. We’ll be back… please keep this a secret!

HIDDEN GEM IN PARADISE!

If you are searching for that perfect cabin in the mountains with spectacular lakeside views, check out the Han Lakeside Cottage located on pristine Santeetlah Lake. Our family of 3 rented this property for a week and to be honest, we could have stayed here forever. Not only is this lakeside cottage located on Thunder Island, it sits in its own cove, away from constant jet ski and boat traffic. I’m not saying there is no traffic, but we have been returning to Santeetlah Lake for over 8 years now and have found this cottage to be the most peaceful and quiet location of all the cabins and bungalows we’ve stayed at. At this cabin you will not have a need for anything in the kitchen to cook and serve with. Everything is provided for you. Everything is provided for you for your convenience, we cooked breakfast/lunch/dinner daily as in the comfort of our own home. Speaking of comfort, this cottage provided comfort and cleanliness to our satisfaction. We would like to thank Russell for going above and beyond making our trip happen. Stellar communication throughout our visit. Seriously awesome renters. A bonus to the cottage location is the super easy drive in and out into the driveway. Cross a bridge onto the island and pull right up to cottage, easy peasy. Wait till you sit on the porch and take in the views, truly a hidden gem in paradise!

We bought this property more than 40 years ago when Lake Santeetlah was really nothing much more than a very sleepy man-made lake. I found this almost accidentally because as a small town doctor, I used to run a clinic in town once a month. There were only two houses on the island when the developer connected it to the mainland. And for the last forty years we have loved spending weekends and summers here first with just our small family and then watching our children and their friends enjoy the lake and all of its activities and now with our larger family and our grandchildren.

The original house was built in 1981, and it would be difficult to build a house this close to the water nowadays. And that view - the whole lake is beautiful and there are many wonderful spots around it - but our view, from the privacy of a little mini-cove created by the road connecting the island to the shore, it's hard to beat. That long vista to the mountains. And even though we are out on the lake, it still feels a little tucked away and private.
