Das Country Acres Retreat verfügt über 3 Schlafzimmer und 3 Bäder sowie einen zusätzlichen Schlafbereich und bietet Platz für 10 bis 11 Personen. Ein Pavillon mit Picknicktischen, Stühlen, Gasgrills und einem Lagerfeuerkreis aus großen Steinen zum Entspannen, Geschichtenerzählen oder Erinnern ist im Umkreis von einigen hundert Fuß verfügbar.

Diese Kabine verfügt über eine voll ausgestattete Hickory-Küche mit einem Essbereich und einem Elektroherd, einer Mikrowelle, einem Mixer, einem Geschirrspüler, viel Besteck, Tellern, Gläsern, Kochutensilien und vielem mehr.

Das Great Room verfügt über einen rustikalen, einheimischen Zuckerahorn-Hartholzboden, der noch immer die Hahnlöcher zeigt, die vor Jahren nach dem Zuckerverfahren hergestellt wurden. Das Great Room ist mit einem Sofa, einem Lieben-Sitz, einer Liege und einem großen antiken Tisch mit einer Bank und Stühlen für zehn bis zwölf Personen ausgestattet.

Ein geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Vollbad und ein Schlafzimmer mit einem Queensize-Bett befinden sich im Erdgeschoss. Auffällig sind die rustikal schönen Holzböden, -decken und -verkleidungen.

Das Loft bietet einen schönen Blick auf den zwei Hektar großen See und verfügt über ein Kingsize-Bett und zusätzlichen Schlafplatz für zwei Einzelbetten auf Rollen für die "zusätzlichen" kleinen Gäste.

Im Erdgeschoss befinden sich ein Schlafzimmer mit einem großen Bett mit einem ausziehbaren Einzelbett darunter, eine Toilette und eine Dusche für Herren und Damen sowie ein Hauswirtschaftsraum mit einer Waschmaschine und einem Trockner. Abgerundet wird das Erdgeschoss durch ein Familienzimmer mit einem Queensize-Schlafsofa, einem Kinderbett, einem Fernseher mit 60 Kanälen von Dish Network sowie den lokalen Sendern von Pittsburgh, einem DVD-Player und einem Videorecorder. Ein kleines Babybett und ein größeres Kinderbett sind bei Bedarf ebenfalls erhältlich. Auch hier gibt es einen schönen Blick auf das Wasser.

** Neu im Jahr 2017 im Erdgeschoss ist eine gepflasterte Terrasse und eine Steintreppe, die sich perfekt zum Sitzen und Entspannen bei Seeblick eignet.

Beautiful and cozy

The owners are very friendly and excellent communicators! We came between snow storms and he offered travel advice, plowed the driveway, and checked in to see if we needed local for food suggestions. The cabin is fantastic and perfect for a small group setting. We came to the area for a team competition and it fit our crew perfectly. It provided a cozy atmosphere and was comfortable enough for us to all get a good night’s sleep. Highly recommend!

The most peaceful home ever

This home was absolutely stunning! Has so much to do, swim , fish , play board games, enjoy time in nature! It was overall the best place i have stayed yet! packed with enjoyable experiences

We were thee for only about 14 hours. They were packed with so much. With about 2 hours of daylight, we started with the boats, then the volleyball. Then the fire pit. A downpour pushed us inside, where we had a movie until bedtime. Everyone enjoyed their beds. Up in the morning for breakfast, packing and cleanup. Everyone had a great time and wans to come back.

Cozy Spring Break Getaway

My family of four met up with my parents for a three-night stay at this lovely cabin. We all had a comfortable place to sleep and plenty of space for playing games and sharing meals. Lovely winter cabin getaway!

A group of four friends from DC/Baltimore came out to have a chill weekend in the woods, and the cabin gave us the perfect setting to read, paint, do a puzzle, and play some Mario Kart and Overcooked! The kitchen is well stocked with cooking implements, and the cabin itself is just delightfully charming. Highly recommend.

Zu Gast bei Ken & Cheryl Maust

I, Ken, grew up in Accident, MD on this farm. In 1995 I moved to Nashville, TN to take a job as a Road Manager/Sound Engineer for many different artists. This took me to all 50 states and about 15 countries. In Nashville, I met my wife Cheryl who was working for the management company of George Strait, Lee Ann Womack, Dierks Bentley, and others. She also went to school for interior design.
We got married in 2002 and now have 4 children. After the children came along, I decided I no longer wanted to be on the road all the time, so I got a "real job" in the building industry designing homes. In 2014 we decided to move back to Accident, MD.
We both love having guests over and enjoy cooking. Sipping a fresh cup of hot coffee on the front porch while watching the deer and wild turkeys is an enjoyment of ours. Cheryl's parents both moved to the US from Cuba in the 1950's so Cheryl's first language was Spanish. Cheryl grinds her own flour and bakes fresh bread regularly. Her homemade pizzas will rival any pizza shop! One of her passions is to take old furniture or other objects and take her artistic touch to turn them into something new, useful and exciting! She also enjoys oil painting when she gets the opportunity.
While I now spend much of my time working from home designing houses, I also mix sound at a local state university where they bring in various national/international artists.

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

I am one of nine children who grew up on this farm. When I was in middle school my dad and I planted the white pines that now surround the cabin. A few years later we built the pond so that we would have water to irrigate our strawberry fields. Several of us kids moved out of the area when we grew up and my dad and mom decided to build this cabin so that their kids would have a place to stay when we came back home to visit.
The construction of the cabin was a labor of love by my dad, my siblings, in-laws, and some friends. Some of the hemlock boards used for the siding and trim came from trees off the farm. My parents decided to extend their hospitality and make the cabin available to people outside of the immediate family. Many have made this their vacation home year after year!
My father was a school teacher, a pastor, and a farmer. He passed away in 2002 and since then the cabin has been managed by Ida, my mom, along with help from the kids. At age 88 she decided that it was too much for her to manage and that it was time to sell it to one of her kids. She still likes meeting the guests when they stop by the farmhouse...
In Feb 2022 Cheryl and I were blessed with the opportunity to purchase it from her and continue the tradition! We feel that it is too nice of a place to just be enjoyed by one family and we want to share it with you and others! We want others to also be able to escape the craziness in the world and to be able to relax and be refreshed by the peace and beauty in nature - at least for a while...

The area is quiet and private, yet close enough to enjoy the local attractions and the mountains of Western Maryland.

The cabin is fully furnished, heated, and overlooks our private 1-1/2 acre lake. There is a firepit between the cabin and the pond that is available to use.

Also available within a few hundred feet, if needed, is a pavilion with picnic tables, chairs, gas grill, and a campfire circle of large rocks for relaxation, story-telling, or reminiscing. There is a sand volleyball court near the pavilion.
