La Moutte offers the ultimate location and accommodation for families and groups of friends who want space, privacy and comfort in the heart of the beautiful Provence countryside. It is ideal for those who want to celebrate special occasions in style.

This beautiful 19th Century country house has breathtaking mountain views, its own swimming pool and tennis court and is set in two hectares of gardens and 100 hectares of private woodland ensuring peace and privacy.

The interior is furnished to a high standard and can easily accommodate 12 to 14 people in its five bedrooms. The kitchen and kitchen terrace, dining room, lounge, games room and TV room are all located on the main floor along with a bedroom with en-suite shower room and a separate bathroom, a perfect option for disabled access if required.

The largest bedroom on the first floor has a walk-out terrace overlooking the mountains, ideal for a morning coffee or evening aperitif. Another bedroom and family sized bathroom are also located on the first floor. There are two other en-suite bedrooms with doors opening out onto the large terrace at the front and side of the property.

Outside are three lawn terraces, ideal for games. The 13m x 6m swimming pool has an approved safety fence, a pool room with shower and bar, and a patio area, the perfect place for an evening barbecue (BBQ provided). The pool is visible from the kitchen and the covered terrace. There is a volleyball area and a hard tennis court

It is a 3 minute drive to the small charming village of Fox Amphoux. It contains a bakery, which is also a pleasant 20 minute walk across the fields, as well as a local cafe/restaurant. There are a host of pretty towns (Cotignac, Aups, Barjols, Salernes) each 15 minutes drive away. The house is located in the Gorge de Verdon national park area and is famous for its clear air, walking, cycling and sightseeing. Four good golf courses are within an hours drive away. For longer day excursions, Aix-en-Provence (75 mins) & St Tropez (90 mins) are nearby.

Holiday for family and friends

We stayed at La Moutte for two weeks in late July/early August. Our group was 7 adults and 6 children ranging from 5 to 15 years of age. We had a lovely holiday and thoroughly enjoyed the space offered by La Moutte, and also the beautiful setting and surrounding countryside. The views from the house are sensational and nearby Fox-Amphoux and Cotignac are both charming. The house is very spacious for a large group and has excellent amenities for all ages (swimming pool, table tennis, pool table and plenty of outdoor space). There is also a tennis court but in its present condition, the court surface is unplayable so we were sadly not able to make use of it. The property was very clean when we arrived but we would have expected the bed linen and towels to be changed part-way through our 2-week stay. We had some issues with kitchen appliances not functioning properly but these can be easily fixed. Dominique who lives on site is a great asset to the property and its grounds, and we very much enjoyed his occasional company when we needed to speak to him. He went out of his way to be as helpful to us as possible during our stay. I would definitely recommend La Moutte for a group holiday with family or friends.

Bonjour Anne, La Moutte nous a permis de passer une semaine agréable en famille, dans un endroit comme je les aime, au milieu de la nature, au calme, avec pour chacun, un endroit tranquille pour se reposer. Le court de tennis, la table de ping pong, la piscine, la salle TV ainsi que le terrain de pétanque, ont ravi petits et grands. Madame Wilmet, bien qu'handicapée, nous a apporté son aide et nous la remercions. Une suggestion : Un petit carnet mis à la disposition des locataires, dans lequel nous pourrions noter les petites choses à réparer ou rectifier, vous permettrait de maintenir votre jolie maison en parfait état. (lampes défectueuses, petites fuites, etc) Très cordialement Monique B.,

Bon séjour

Très belle maison, grande, et Fonctionnelle. Nous étions 3 familles avec 3 enfants. La Maison dispose de une grande piscine Sécurisée et un tennis. Le terrain est immense, beaucoup de villages charmants à visiter aux alentours, tout s’est bien passé pour cette semaine de vacances. Merci!

Une magnifique maison pour vacances entre amis

Le domaine est très vaste et très beau. La vue est magnifique ! On est bien au calme avec comme seul bruit le chant des cigales. La maison est bien équipée, en particulier la très grande cuisine. Le billard et la salle de ping pong sont très appréciables. La piscine est très grande et agréable. Elle a un peu tourné en raison de la canicule. Le gardien est venu tous les jours pour tenter de la rétablir. Le tennis est dans un lieu enchanteur mais il commence à être un peu fatigué : il a quelques faux rebonds. Il gagnerait à être rénové. Je recommande cette maison pour des réunions familiales ou entre amis. Le domaine est si grand et bien équipé que chacun peut avoir une activité différente !

Pour un séjour très agréable en famille ou entre amis

Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour à la Moutte avec trois autres couples d'amis, pour un total de 18 personnes (10 enfants dont 2 petits). La maison est très grande et permet de loger tout le monde très confortablement sur 3 étages. Les pièces à vivre sont spacieuses et la terrasse, où nous avons passé la majorité de notre séjour, offre un espace ombragé bienvenu en pleine journée. La piscine, très grande et bien protégée (clôture complète avec sécurité enfant), a fait le bonheur des petits et grands. La maison n'est pas climatisée mais la température reste raisonnable à condition de fermer les volets en journée, à l'exception de fortes chaleurs rencontrées en debut de séjour. Le domaine est immense, on se sent totalement immergé au milieu de la nature. Il va de soi que la voiture est indispensable pour tout approvisionnement (supermarché à 15mn). La gardienne, très accueillante et discrète, habite dans la maison (à l'opposé de la terrasse et des pièces de vie). Elle a un accès indépendant à la maison et la cohabitation ne nous a en aucun cas dérangé. Enfin, dans les petits bémols, noter que le tennis est un peu fissuré par la végétation et que le WiFi n'est accessible que dans un nombre limité de pièces, de par la localisation de la box au sous sol. Comme la réception mobile est très mauvaise dans toute la région proche, on dira que c'est l'occasion de faire un break avec le monde sur-connecté. Au final, je recommande vivement la Moutte pour une semaine en famille (nombreuse) ou entre amis. Le séjour sera à coup sûr une réussite !

The property is set back from the road and is an ideal place to relax and unwind in peace and quiet

The house has more than enough room for all the guests and not to feel cramped, I think a car is a must to make the most of the local area and see all the sights and picturesque towns near by. We enjoyed the use of the pool and tennis court and the nature walks around the estate. I would definitely recommend this stay for a group who like peace and quiet and are good at making their own entertainment.

A great place for a holiday/get away

The house is very spacious and well equipped and the pool and grounds are lovely to use and walk in. The surrounding countryside is very attractive with interesting villages and towns to visit and areas of scenic beauty to explore.

Fantastic place for a family holiday

It’s soon obvious you’re in a special spot as soon as you take the long driveway through an oak forest to the house. The grounds are huge and the views expansive up to Fox-Amphoux on the hill nearby. La Moutte is an exceptionally well maintained place – pool cleaned early every morning by the guardian – and kept stocked with everything you could need to have an enjoyable holiday, including many things like pool towels that other holiday villas don’t bother with. Tons of games, equipment, DVDs etc. keep children busy when not swimming or playing tennis, but the pool is so nice they’ll be spending most of their time hurling themselves off the diving board. Fantastic place for a big family gathering. Couldn’t fault it!

Very good. I Keep going back.

Spacious. Very clean Well designed. Excellent for family gatherings. Secluded but well positioned for numerous small towns and villages with character,markets ,and restaurants. A real French Provençal feel without feeling over touristy. Staff very helpful when needed but not intrusive. Very relaxing. Recommended.

A wonderful holiday

We really enjoyed our stay at La Moutte. Getting there was easy, I came through Nice, some came through Marseilles and others drove down from the north. The welcoming feel of the house and grounds set us up for our holiday. The lovely oak forest leading to the spacious house, the big kitchen, the dining room, which although large made for intimate dining, and other public rooms gave us lots of space, as did having bedrooms on all 3 floors, which meant we could be together but also be on our own if we wished. A great place to sit was on the covered terrace, it was ideal for breakfast, lunches and barbecues and the temperature, and lack of biting insects, made it a restful place to sit. A path from there leads to the swimming pool, big enough to play and swim in. The guardians were very helpful when asked to do something and also showed us a walking route to the local Auberge. All our linen, towels etc were taken care of no matter how many times we went swimming. A car is useful as the local towns of Barjols, Contignac, Aups, Draguignan, Salernes and the beauty of the Gorges du Verdon beckoned. Well kept local vineyards (and lovely wine) and superb restaurants in the region made the visit very special. So thank you for a wonderful holiday

Un cadre superbe mais une réalité qui l'est moins

La propriété est Superbe mais l'entretien l'est moins. Que de désillusion avons nous eu. Dont la piscine "tournée" et les désordres intestinaux en résultant. Soit disant des chaleurs exceptionnelles, on est dans le "midi"!!!! Des vélos oui, mais inutilisables, des raquettes de ping pong, oui mais "plus qu'usées, des moustiquaires qu'il n'est pas question de manipuler sans ennuis. Deux fours mais petits et l'un ne marchant pas. Le tennis fissuré avec un filet inamovible les pelouses, pas tondues J'en passe. Nous avons tenté de discuter avec les propriétaires qui n'ont jamais voulu rien entendre. Des gardiens gentils mais reconnaissant le manque de moyens alloués pour que la propriété soit à la hauteur de la publicité qui en est faite. c'est sur payé.
