An Wonderful Home Away From Home in Mauritius

We had an amazing stay at Sandra and Mark’s apartment! Originally, we planned to stay for just the first half of our 3-week holiday on the island, but we loved it so much that we decided to extend our stay for the entire 3 weeks—and it was absolutely the right choice.The location was perfect—close to the beach, shops, and restaurants—making everything easily accessible. The apartment was well-equipped with everything we needed to feel right at home. It truly felt like a home away from home, which made our holiday even more enjoyable.We were also incredibly fortunate with the weather, with sunny days almost every day. The thoughtful inclusion of small deck chairs, an umbrella, and beach mats was such a nice touch and made our beach days even more relaxing.Thank you, Sandra and Mark, for sharing your beautiful home with us and for providing so much helpful information to make our stay seamless and comfortable. Inoubliable vacances

D apres mes petits enfants et moi même nous avons passé un agréable séjour dans cette appartement les hotes la femme de ménage Aarti et le taxiteur Nanda ils sont au au top....tres aimable et gentille.. Le winners a côté , les bons restaurants ,et la location pour de divers activités nous a bien faciliter la vie.. La plage public tres belle on s y sens en sécurité... Les snack restaurants sont tres corrects et tres bons les enfants ont bien aimés... Je remercie Les hotes qui sont de bien charmante personnes, tres à l ecoute...

Informations détaillées et précises de la part des propriétaires concernant les alentours . Petit appartement de vacances avec tout le nécessaire et à proximité ( à pied ) de la plage ,des commerces et des restaurants. (petit coup de cœur pour le GrillΧll) Notre seul regret la terrasse en couloir d'une largeur d'un mètre quarante ,pas trop exploitable. Les propriétaires ne peuvent pas pousser les murs ,mais c'est mieux de le savoir avant pour ne pas être déçu. En résume nous sommes globalement satisfait .

Résidence très bien placée pour découvrir cette partie de l’île . L’appartement est très correct et la communication avec Sandra est excellente . Elle met tout en œuvre pour que tout se passe bien . Dommage que l’appartement manque de lumière et de vue … balcon donne sur des murs et offre peu de visibilité . Confort et climatisation au rendez vous . La piscine n’était pas opérationnelle durant notre séjour , dommage mais l’océan est tellement mieux !!! Nanda et Marcelline sont adorables . Merci pour tout

Trevlig lägenhet i Péreybere på norra Mauritius!

Fin liten lägenhet! Bra utrustad. Lika fin som på bilderna hos Homeaway. Bra pool. Nära till allt, Bara ett par hundra meter till en stor mataffär, nära till två fina stränder. Flera restauranger i närheten. Fantastiska Marceline tog hand om oss och städade alla vardagar, Nando hämtade och lämnade oss vid flyget. Överallt trevliga , vänliga människor. Lätt att ta sig runt med buss! Vi trivdes otroligt hra, Vi kommer gärna tillbaka!

Perfect Location for beach and local life

A wonderful apartment situated with bus stops less that 2 mins walk; the beautiful beaches can be accessed via a small back road, approximately 5 mins walk; there is a supermarket 5 mins walk away that has everything you need. The apartment has a well equipped kitchen, wifi, TV, safe and a small balcony. We could not have wanted more. The housekeeper and resident caretakers were friendly, happy, helpful and a delight.

We have really enjoyed whole stay in this apartment. It was clean and very good located. There are everything nearby. Really nice beaches. Many restaurants and supermarket couple of steps from apartment. I can't forget to mention nice swimming pool which our baby enjoyed totally. Marcelina, lady who take care of daily cleaning was really nice person. She has been cooking for us very good meal for very good price. I would really recommend this to everybody.

Great place to stay

If you prefer to rent an apartment instead of a hotel, ( which has a lot of advantages ), - this one is an excellent choise. It is not beachside, but only a 5 minutes walk to the beach. It contain all amenities you need, such as an equipped kitchen, washing machine and aircondition. A housekeeper comes every day ( except weekends and public holidays ), and keeps the place very clean.There is also a swimmingpool, but we prefer the big one ( Indian Ocean ). Another plus, is that a very well stocked supermarket and bakery ( Winners ) is only about 200 meters away. There are frequent bus connections. (100 meters to the bus stop.) The owners ( who lives in London ) does everything to make your stay pleasant , giving you all the info you need to make your stay troublefree. We have stayed in this place for several months over the years, and are very pleased with everything. Halvar and Jorunn from Norway.

Notre séjour à Pereybere

Pour la deuxième année consécutive , nous avons choisi de passer notre semaine a Maurice , a Pereybere , dans cet agréable appartement de Sandra et Mark Alix Brown tout simplement parce que des la première fois , on s'y est senti comme chez nous. L'appartement est confortable , fonctionnel et super bien entretenu par Marceline. Accueillis à l.aeroport par Nanda , toujours ponctuel , gentil et non avare pendant nos trajets de conversation très diverses sur l'île , et tout autre sujet...et.de surcroît ...tellement patient !! Vraiment chapeau Nanda. Comment ne pas parler de Marceline qui déborde de générosité !! Sa gentillesse naturelle et son goût du relationnel . Nous gardons d'eux un formidable souvenir. Nous apprécions énormément leur discrétion . Lors de nos deux séjours consécutifs nous avons fait la connaissance de vos parents. Charmantes personnes qui n'hésitent pas de nous proposer leur disponibilité pour un éventuel problème ou un conseil. Nous apprécions beaucoup la situation de l'appartement pour sa proximité de la plage , des restos , etc... Nous gardons précieusement toutes vos coordonnées et celles de nos rencontres sur place et n'hésiterons pas a les communiquer !! Safe,quiet & comfortable

We spent the month of november in this lovely spacious, comfortable and well equipped apartment. Staying for that length of time, we catered for ourselves quite a lot. The kitchen facilities were excellent, we even cooked a sunday lunch! Having Winners supermarket just 5 minutes away was a bonus too,enjoying the freshly baked baguettes most days. We used the local buses many times and the nearest stop are just at the end of the road. To add to that the beach is just 2 minutes further walking from the supermarket. The apartment is kitted out with a sun parasol and beach chair along with plenty of towels, so no need to incur the hire of expensive beach beds. We were also very happy to have the safety of an alarm system and a wall safe.The complex is kept very clean and despite being near the road, is very peaceful. Plenty of colourful birds buzzing about make for an enjoyable cup of coffee on the terrace. We availed ourselves of the many books to be found in the cupboard under the TV. But please bring your own taste in dvds. The pool is good for cooling down,but big enough for a bit of exercise if wanted! Marceline, your local host/contact is a gem and nothing is too much bother for her. The local restaurants are very near and a trip to Grand Bay is just 10 minutes on the bus. We would definitely recommend a visit to the Botanical Gardens(just take the Pamplemouse bus at the end of the road). The catamaran boat trips are a must, as is a day out at Ile aux Cerf. Also enjoy a day at the races(when the season allows) every saturday in Port Louis. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend it to all.

Return to paradise

After spending our hollidays elsewhere since 2011, we finally returned to our little private piece of paradise - Pereybere in Mauritius. It is the third time we are renting the appartmenet, so we instantly feel at home. We were greeted by both Marceline, who kept the place nice and clean for us and by Gerard and Sylvia, who - once again - made our holliday extra special with their never ending help and kindness. When we are at Pereybere, we love to go to the beach and relax, and that's how we spent most of the days. And for that purpose the appartement is perfect - enough room and facilitys and of course it's great with a private pool (some new sun-chairs would be great, though). This time we dined "at home" a lot more than ususal, thanx to the absolutely fantastic supermarket, that is placed just a few hundred meters from the appartement. This is really a great improvement. Our renuion with paradise was just as warm, sunny and relaxing, as we could hope for, and we hope to bed back allready next year - and of course we will be staying in "our" appartement in Pereybere.

Superb Indian Ocean Holiday

We booked for 5 weeks. We were met by Nanda at the airport which was a welcome sight after a long flight. As stated in previous reviews he is a mine of information and very helpful. At the flat we were welcomed by a smiling Marceline who showed us around and made sure we were settled in. The flat was everything as described in the listings, close to the beaches, supermarket and shops. It was pleasantly bigger than we had expected, clean and very comfortable. Sandra & Mark were very helpful prior to our arrival and gave us very useful advice on what to do and where to go. The only drawback was the tennis. The place were the courts were would not let us play on them which was a bit irritating as we had booked this apartment based on being able to play tennis. We however did find a court in grande baie which was a bus ride away. The beach cafe was not a very enjoyable experience as the staff were offhand the prices high, we didn't go there very often.The Thai restaurant was totally the opposite and was excellent. We had a meal cooked for us by Marceline which was very mauritian and tasty. We also booked a trip with Herve to flat island and he took us snorkeling and then cooked us a fabulous BBQ. A trip well worth doing. We would reccommend this flat and have already booked the larger flat for our holiday this year.

Amazing holidays in Mauritius

We stayed two weeks in this very nice and comfortable appartement in Pereybere. It is very well furnished, and was close to a big store, where we could buy anything we needed. There are also various nice restaurants, with mauritian, indian, chinese, thai and european kitchen. The beaches and sea are amazing and are very close to the appartment (about 2 mins walk away), without any road to cross. Moreover Nanda and Marceline have been so nice and helpful with us during our whole stay. We made several excursions with Nanda. His taxi is comfortable and Nanda knows really a lot about the history of the island ! We also did a boat trip in a typical mauritian boat with Hervé. He took us on a beautiful quiet island with beautiful sand where we had a delightful barbecue. We really enjoyed our stay in Pereybere, and we already think come go back in the future.

Returning to Paradise

For the third year in a row we returned to Mauritius and for the second year in a row we stayed in the great apartment in Pereybere. This time we arrived four people - two adults and two "kids" at the age of 19 and 13. Even though the apartment is small it was a perfect two weeks, where the four of us enjoyed the nearby beach, the local restaurants, the chineese shop just around the corner where you get the morning-bread, and the swimming-pool just 10 paces from our door. The oldest "child" had some great diving-experiences and the four of us went on a few great trips to sea, where we tasted the best fried fish ever - in the middle of nowhere. It just doesn't get any better. And on top of that we were helped and nursed by Sandras parents, who lives in one of the apartments - they are so nice and helpfull that you just can't wish for anything more. For us Mauritius is the perfect place to relaod and find new energy to face the everyday-life at home - the atmosphere is so relaxing and nice and the people are so friendly all over the whole island. If you don't need the service of an all-inclusive hotel the apartment in Pereybere is the perfect solution - you will have a perfect holliday in what has to be one of the closest places near to Paradise on earth. (We stayed in a hotel our first first time on Mauritius - but we won't trade it for the apartment in Pereybere.) Betina and Lars from Denmark

Residence Les Filaos, Perybere

We have just returned from a fabulous holiday in Sandra & Marks apartment in Perybere. Apartment spotless and well equiped. I would recomend it to anyone, looking for peace and tranquility. Tips for Travellers. Don't take cardigans,trousers,shoes,coats etc you won't need them. Very relaxed resort with friendly people. Nanda provided an excellent,punctual and obliging service. The trip with Herve MUST not be missed, excellent day out with excellent food and good location. Don't book with local tour companies Herve's food is much better and trip very relaxed and informal. We did Isla Ceufs with local travel agent, it was a good day and worth the 1 hr trip,speedboat trip and location,food however not in same league as Herve's. Botanical Gardens excellent half day trip, go by taxi as bus ride not the best. Public beach excellent although sun bed hire at 600 rupees was expensive per day. Eating out Both cheap and more expensive venues were all very good. Recommend French Restaurant opposite Beach lovers excellent for evenig meal and varied cuisine, around 2000rps (£40) including all drinks,coffees etc. Wag Thai our favourite, excellent food price about same. Amigo's fish restaurant excellent fish meals and prawns to die for, phone them and they will collect and take you home free of charge.a bit dearer but worth the visit. Hotel Habiscus excellent food and service but a bit pricey, go during day and vist their beach for peace & tranquility. Palm Beach Cafe very good for snacks etc Beach bar not as good but but very friendly staff. Beaches, nothing to say other than superb. Public beach gets busy, but not crowded, great for swimming & kids.Try beach 5 mins in opposite direction, fabulous stretch of white sand, almost deserted but not much shade. Flat Island worth the trip if only to have Herve's bbq again. Thanks to Gerard & Sylvia for their much appreciated assistance, such a lovely couple with nothing too much trouble. Cela fait maintenant un mois que nous sommes revenus de l'île Maurice,plus exactement de Pérèbeyre,où nous avons passé un agréable séjour sous le soleil alors qu'en France il y avait des conditions climatiques assez catastrophiques. Nous ne connaissions pas l'île Maurice et nous y avons découvert beaucoup de choses agréables à faire, notamment avec des enfants(8 et 12).Nous n'avons pas eu le temps de faire des ballades en bâteau avec les services d'Hervé que vous nous aviez recommandés,faute de temps.Par contre en ce qui concerne les services de Nanda,rien à dire si ce n'est excellent guide et conducteur,très bonne prise en charge au niveau de notre arrivée et départ à l'aéroport et surtout très ponctuel.Quant aux services de Sheila,parfait, c'est une personne discrète , dévouée,gentille, serviable et qui prépare d'excellents plats dès qu'on lui demande.Il en est de même pour son époux. En ce qui concerne l'accueil à la résidence , nous avons été merveilleusement bien reçu,présentation de l'appartement, du jardin et de la piscine.Appartement confortable,agréable et fonctionnel. Nous avons eu également l'honneur de faire la connaissance de vos parents,personnes charmantes, qui n'hésitent pas à se mettre à notre disposition pour les moindres problèmes , conseils à donner. Nous avons vu beaucoup de choses,jardin des pamplemousses, l'aventure du sucre,le temple Tamoul à Grand bassin,Port Louis ,l'île aux cerfs,Chamarel,Cap Malheureux et bien sur les plages locales à coté de la résidence.Les marchands ambulants qui sont très commerçants.Nous avons eu le plaisir de manger beaucoup de litchis , ananas, mangues,les carris,de voir les arbres les flamboyants très colorés.En ce qui concerne les restaurants, celui qui se trouve à coté de la résidence le "comme chez nous", est très bon et pas cher,un très bon accueil. Bref un séjour agréable qui passe trop vite. Seul petit" regret",le temps passe tellement vite et très reposant que j'ai oublié de filmer Cap Malheureux et la résidence.Alors c'est peut être pour une prochaine . En tous les cas je garde précieusement les coordonnées et je n'hésiterai pas à les communiquer . Bonne continuation et bon séjour pour le mois d'avril,passer le bonjour à vos parents. Premier séjour à Maurice

L'appartement est tout à fait conforme à la description : confortable, calme, et surtout idéalement situé à proximité de la mer, des bus et des commerces. Pereybere est un bon choix pour un premier séjour réussi dans l'ile, à la fois pour se reposer et visiter ! L'ensemble des contacts et des services proposés facilitent beaucoup le bon déroulement du séjour. Une bonne adresse à retenir.

Pereybere

I have just returned from a 2 week stay at Pereybere with my wife and 2 young children. The apartment was as advertised and everything was very clean and well maintained. The fact that it had a/c throughout was great as many other apartments on the island don’t have. We were really happy that we had chosen Pereybere for a number of reason. We loved the local beaches which were very close by and especially great for the kids. The main beach is like a big swimming pool with calm clear water which gets deeper very gradually. Also Pereybere has a nice family atmosphere with the main beach being very lively during peak times, if you don't like this you can always walk around a bit a find lots of nice small quieter spots. Pereybere also has lots of choice for restaurants and we really loved the chicken kebabs on the beach! We would also recommend Sheila's cooking one night as this was very good. We didn't rent a car and found taxi's very affordable and easy to find. Grand Bay is close by for stocking up at the supermarket and the bus stop is right by the apartments. I would thoroughly recommend the place to anyone who wants a comfortable base for exploring the island and also relaxing at the nearby beaches.

3 gorgeous weeks in Pereybere

Our last night in Pereybere we were trying to think of some downsides of our stay and we really couldn't come up with any. The weather, scenery, food and people had all been wonderful. We were so glad we had extended our stay to 3 weeks. The apartment was very spacious and had everything we needed. Sheila was in to clean Monday to Friday. If we were being ultra critical we would say that the balcony is really only of use for drying washing as it is small and has no pleasant view. However, with the heat we were happier to be inside with the excellent and much welcome air conditioning. Nanda was an absolute joy. We used him all the time for excursions as his service was so reliable and well priced. We are so looking forward to hearing how he gets on when he visits Scotland. We were very impressed with Pereybere, as a resort it was just our cup of tea. Nice and small with no pretentious tourist development and a good selection of restaurants, our favourites being the Thai, Chinese and Sea Lovers. The people were so friendly. We live in a very small community and it is natural for us all to say hello when meeting in the street and Pereybere was just the same. Sandra's parents were lovely and so kind. Sylvia cooked us a delicious Creole meal for which I have the recipe. We were both celebrating birthdays, and it was the ideal place for me to turn 60. Reading the reviews of the property I was amazed how few folk had rated the holiday for 55+. As a new OAP with a 72 year old husband we had a ball. We really enjoyed the beach and the snorkelling. It was just like swimming in an enormous tropical fish tank, but as with so many of your guests, our highlight was the trip to Flat Island with Herve. A super day and his barbecued fish was superb. We also went on a half day fishing trip with him and I was able to cook some of our catch in the apartment. What a difference in taste when fish comes straight from the sea. We enjoyed using the local bus service, although we thought some of the drivers would have been more at home on a Formula 1 circuit! All in all a superb holiday, which we would recommend to others

1 bedroom Apartment

First off, if you're looking for 5 star Ritz style accomodation then maybe this isn't for you. However, if what you're looking for is comfortable, clean, air-condtioned, and close by to one of the best beaches in Mauritius then this is it. Lots of really good (cheap) restaurants nearby and a very frequent (& cheap) bus service to take you to Grand Bay/Port Louis etc. The trips, especially with Herve are wonderful, and Shelia (concierge) and her family are warm and friendly and will help with suggestions of where to go etc. If you are lucky enough to be staying at the same time as Sandra's parents then you will not only get to meet an extremely friendly and helpful couple but quite possibly the start of a great friendship. We stayed at the height of the Mauritius summer (approx 32C) and believe me the air con was a bonus. All in all a fantastic holiday, wonderful friendly people and great accomodation and at 85 Rupees for a bottle of rum, very enjoyable). We will definitely be back.

Apartment with great location!

We spend three weeks in Mauritius. We can highly recomend this apartment also for other honeymooners and holydaymakers! Sandra's "long holiday spending" parents were extreamly kind, friendly and helpful for us. We miss them a lot with full of our hearths! The beach were only for a couple of minutes walking distance and there was some snorkling places direct from the beach (colourful fishes, iles, turtles, octopus, seaearches. corals exc). We would recormend also reliable taxi driver Nanda about picking-up from airport and trips around the island. The bus stop is less than 30m from apartment and the bus trip is worth of trying (and extreamly cheap to Grand Bay or Port Louis - slow version 1,5h and Express from G-B 30min.), cheap - less than 60rupees for two one way to P.L. At apartment there is avarage cooking fasilities in kitchen (microwave, coffee-machine, waterheater, toaster, 3gas-stowes-1electric, electric-owen, refridgerator-freezer, about 4 eating instuments for dish). Making food: good vegetable&fruit salesplaces just 150meters away (hole bag about 2-3euros and extreamly friendly big-guy as an salesman). There is also about 100meters away one store own by nice chinese man, there is everything for sale, just ask because you can't see everything! Big supermarkets with large variaty of food and household products is in Grand Bay -SuperU or Store2000 (only 5min by bus and 36rupees per two person per side). It was extreamly comfortable to have a fully cleaning service every weekdays (there were a lot of dishes because Heidi loved about cooking). The apartment was clean and cosy with homefeeling saling decorations. Cleanig lady Sheila and her whole family were so kind and helpful also. Restaurants: Pereybere: chinese restaurant ->good, chicken-kebab-car in beach ->good. Port.L. foodcorners Al Dente pasta place->good.
