Initial Excitement Quickly Turned to Disappointment
Upon arrival for our 15-day stay, we were impressed by the House, Pool, Location and View. All were spectacular. Unfortunately, all began to quickly diminish as the Owners and/or Property Managers will micro-manage every action, it seems.
On day 3 we were falsely accused, via text in real-time, of having 5 guests, based on what they viewed with the camera. We only had 4 total guests, at that time, so they must have mistakenly counted the food delivery driver. There was also a major misunderstanding related to the acceptance our 4 lb registered and protected Service Animal resulting in 3 lost days of enjoying the house until they accepted an additional cash payment for extra cleaning.
Items needing addressed: Mstr Bdrm ceiling fan would not operate. Mstr Bdrm main showerhead has low water pressure and had to use secondary wand to shower. Mstr Bthrm shower must be on full hot to have lukewarm water. Workout Bench located in Mstr Bthrm blocked access to the Tub. Ext. Bthrm door from pool does not latch and had to use deadbolt to keep closed which negates the use of the Bathroom from the Pool. Ants on Kitchen counter by dishwasher and had to use provided Ant spray which was located under the sink. Silverfish bugs found in upstairs dresser drawers and along baseboards. Long, black hairs found in upstairs shower and along baseboards in bedroom. Toaster needs replaced. Upstairs Keurig needs replaced – was not functional without holding down the pod receptacle. TVs were all set to German making navigation difficult. Only half of the outdoor grill was functional. Garage door, for the one available parking space, would frequently not close. Bring ice – The ice maker is very small and will only have enough ice for 3-4 drinks. Some Patio Loungers need replaced. Barking German Shepard located next door. New home construction began next door.
Two weeks after checkout, we finally received the bill for the electricity used during our stay and the 5th guest that arrived on the last Week of our stay. All acceptable charges. What wasn’t acceptable was the unproven and unexpected additional fees for a stain on an area rug and to replace 10 stained “beyond cleaning” towels.
We would not be a return Renter nor recommend this Property due to the real-time monitoring, via the installed cameras, the false accusations and implied damage to items that we strongly contest. Save yourself time, money and disappointment and find another property to rent.
