Das Cottage Mary Rose ist ein wunderschönes strohgedecktes Häuschen aus dem 18. Jahrhundert. Es ist eines der wenigen verbliebenen in Irland, von denen Sie träumen, wenn Sie an Irland denken. Eingebettet in das pastorale Tal des Mount Eagle mit einem Bach, der durch den ruhigen Bauerngarten fließt. Wir verfügen über einen natürlichen Garten. Es ist von seinen ursprünglichen Trockenmauern und Fuchsia umgeben.

Sie werden von der knallroten Doppeltür begrüßt. Wenn Sie eintreten, haben Sie das Gefühl, in der Zeit zurückgetreten zu sein. Mit seinem Steinkamin und den hohen Decken im Wohnzimmer ist es ein großartiger Raum für Gespräche und Spiele. Antiquitäten füllen das Haus mit traditionellen und komfortablen Möbeln. Es ist erstaunlich zu denken, was dieses Häuschen überlebt hat. Es ist wirklich ein langer Weg vom traditionellen irischen Leben zum Luxus, von dem wir träumen. Es gibt eine Whirlpool-Badewanne und einen Geschirrspüler sowie einen leuchtend roten Aga-Herd, sodass Sie das Kochen genießen können. Das Haus ist liebevoll eingerichtet, was aber nur auf den ersten Blick stimmt. In der Anzeige bei FeWo sah es so aus, als ob es 3 Schlafzimmer geben würde (viele Bilder von Schlafzimmern, die nicht man nicht eindeutig zuordnen konnte). Die Schlafcouch war eigentlich nicht benutzbar, da die Auflage sehr dünn war und nicht für 2 Personen geeignet. Die vorhandenen Kleiderschränke konnten nicht benutzt werden, da sie bereits belegt waren. 2 Wochen aus dem Koffer leben mit muffiger Kleidung, da Schimmel in einem Schlafzimmer. Die Waschbecken im großen Badezimmer und in der Küche luden nicht zum Waschen ein (Bilder von den Waschbecken und Schimmel sind vorhanden). Das Hausmeisterehepaar war sehr hilfsbereit und hatte immer ein offenes Ohr

The loveliest character cottage

Cannot say enough good things about this little cottage. It’s excellently located to all the best attractions in Kerry, and it’s perfectly situated in the country but close enough to Castleisland to make getting groceries and going to the local pub easy. The caretaker, Timmy, built a fire for us twice and a local man gave my Dad an autographed book of his own poetry. Absolutely perfect accommodation for a family trip.

The cottage was very rustic. Other than where it’s situated it’s a very charming little cottage. The problem is what the listing doesn’t not convey. There is no parking on site. Parking is across a relatively busy street. Inside the amenities had their charm but were old. Inside things felt cramped. Nice deck by a stream.

Excellent stay

This cottage was the perfect introduction to Ireland and such a unique stay. There aren’t many thatch roof cottages anymore and especially rare to be along side a river with a hot tub and beautiful garden. It was a dream to stay at and the contacts were really easy to work with given our flight changes. Would absolutely recommend.

The most wonderful vacation experience ever!

We spent our entire 2 week vacation at Cottage Mary Rose as our home base from which to explore the southwest part of Ireland. It was perfect! Genuine Ireland at its best. The cottage itself is beautiful, cozy, a sanctuary to retreat to after a full day of touring. The manager and caretaker are amazing and so welcoming. The gardens surrounding the cottage and the creek beside it add even more beauty and serenity to this very special haven. We’ve left a part of our hearts here in this lovely place and hope to return soon!

Our stay here was wonderful. This cottage has been around for a long time and we appreciated staying in a little piece of history. The cottage felt like our home away from home. We loved the huge deck in the back as well as the hot tub! Great communication with property managers & hosts.

Beautiful thatched roof cottage

We loved this vrbo, it was an authentic Irish cottage. Communication with the host and the local people who help take care of the cottage was great. Timmy the groundskeeper was extremely helpful upon our arrival at the location. Very spaceous, with a large fireplace, full kitchen, washer, dryer. Lots of history and photos of the cottage over the years. Central to Killarney and Dingle. Our favourite!!!

Not recommended

We [family of 6, 3 adults, 3 kids (12, 10, 8)] recently traveled across all of Ireland. We had 3 nights booked at this home. Once arriving, we were instructed to park across the street, and to be careful crossing as its a busy street. That should have been our first red flag. We parked at the CEMETARY (2nd red flag), and entered the property. The grounds are quite lovely, not at all a place for a kids to play however. There is a running stream behind the property, and no safe guard to keep the kids from falling down the ravene. Watch your head when entering through the front door, its a low clearance. There are 2 bathrooms, one where there was no functioning light, and the other with a shower the perfect size for our young kids, maybe. There was very little to no space to put any of our luggage. The house is maxed out on decor, leaving no room to wiggle. We knew immediately that we would not be staying, as none of the kids were happy, and 2 of the adults were quite displeased. So we contacted the owner, William, and asked if we could receive a refund for 2 of the nights and our cleaning fee. He offered to return the cleaning fee and nothing else and requested we not leave a review. He has since opted to not reply to me. This home would offer a rural Ireland experience, and I would not recommend it for small kids. We left within an hour of arriving, and didnt let this one hiccup in our trip affect our plans.

Family trip to Ireland

Cute, traditional Irish cottage! We loved all of the photos and neat antiques in the home. Cottage was well cleaned and exterior gardens and patio areas were amazing. Wish we had more time and dry weather to sit and enjoy coffee on the back deck. Kids loved the hot tub! We appreciated having a clothes dryer. There were plenty of extra blankets and towels. Communication was always quick and very helpful. Location was great for all of our day trips. We would return again!

Cutest little Irish Cottage WITH HOT TUB

This was exactly what we were looking for and more! The cutest little cottage, which was actually very spacious and comfortable, had so much character, but also had modern amenities including the most delightful hot tub. Great shower also. Loved our stay. Would add that the wifi only reached to the kitchen, so wouldn't be ideal for someone who needed to really work, but for holiday it was great!

Beautiful Warm Irish Cottage

From the start communication and the plans went smoothly- This cottage was more than what we could have hoped for. The amazing fireplace prepared and ready to go with Irish Turf. The home itself decorated with much love & attention- Clean and cozy! Picture perfect Irish stay!

We couldn't have asked for more!! Mary Rose cottage is the exact thatched roof cottage I picture when I think of Ireland! The half doors and beautiful gardens just add to it!! We enjoyed the hot tub and even through some true Irish rain drops! Delightful! It was so inviting to be greeted at check in with a fire going and everything. Perfect Place for a Perfect Vacation

This vacation has been in the planning for over a year. I booked the Cottage Mary Rose over a year ago for a three week getaway to a genuine old time Irish Cottage in a small country town in county Kerry. We’ve been to Ireland before but both times on the quick traveler see everything vacation. Our desire this time was to settle down and experience the Irish lifestyle in the country. All the pictures on the site still don’t do the cottage justice as to how quickly you feel at home and settled in. We spent three glorious weeks exploring at a leisurely pace and getting to meet many local citizens and business people. Walked to church, shopped at local grocery store and had a few pints at Hughes Bar. The neighboring town of Castleisland has many restaurants and pubs. We became regulars at Pat’s Cafe for breakfast and a late lunch. The food is simply as good as any you can find in all of Ireland. We thank William for creating a special place in the Cottage Mary Rose and Mary and Mike for making sure everything is perfect for the guests. I can say with certainty we will be back.

Old world charm with modern conveniences.

My family and I were delighted with Cottage Mary Rose. Very comfortable, charming and well kept. The deck and grounds were beautiful. Easy parking and Mary and Michael were very responsive. Nearby Castleisland had everything you could need.Easy day trips to Dingle, Galway and Cliffs of Moher.

My family is of Irish descent. Our first time to the Emerald Isle was in 1996. I fell in love with it as every one does and knew then that some day I would have a home there.........a Thatched Cottage. Being involved in architechture,I had always been fascinated in thatched roof cottages. When I purchased Cottage Mary Rose in 2000 I never realised how much I would fall in love with it. It is my true passion, named after my mother, Mary Rose Bowler, I wanted to share this amazing bit of Irish History with others....

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

I wanted a historic thatched cottage off of the beaten track but close enough to tourist attractions. I am an avid gardener and knew that this location was perfect for a great garden. There are fuschia & camelias every where! The stream was the frosting on the cake. So dramatic because of the ravine and rushing water below. The sound is so calming and tranquil. I preferred the small village of Cordal because you get a TRUE feel of the real Ireland instead of the touristy areas. I was happy enough with the Church and Kearney's Grocer.....I thought all it needed was a pub......my dream was answered and Hughes Pub was built by Sean Hughes a local Cordal lad in 2006. It is a beautiful pub and great for local gab, a great Pint and a game of pool. All with in a 5 minute walk. Our great cottage has stood the test of time. I love sharing this peice of Heaven with others.........

Cottage Mary Rose is a wonderful blend of a living bit of history. Add to this a Jacuzzi tub, rain shower and hot tub over looking a stream and you have it all. We even provide WiFi internet connection. Large kitchen which is wonderful for entertaining. The Heritage cooker is probably the best method of cooking food. Besides the Irish farm table there is also a front patio for dining and the deck where you can dine with the sounds of the peaceful stream and song of the birds. Nothing beats relaxing in the hot tub at the end of a long day while enoying the stars above...........absolute Heaven.............
