Great for families

Our criteria for a family of 4 includes:Space: it had two bedrooms, one of the bedrooms has two separate beds for the 2 kids. The living room also has a pullout - not sure they mention that in the description. Proximity to beach: very close to magic sands , although the beach had no sand due to high surf in winter. In summer or other months it likely does. We couldn’t go into the water at all due to how tight it was in Dec- early jan. Laundry: unit had one, not sure why they don’t provide laundry detergent/ it is a small thing - and a huge miss in my opinion. Place is really close to Keahou shopping center - which has nice restaurants and shopping. We enjoyed golfing at Kona club and visiting coffee plantations, especially Heavenly. Small standalone ac units in each room in addition to central one. Generally, the bathrooms are dated and hit water was an issue/ it was generally warm and the bathroom shower operation isn’t good. There are some beach items available / we found the beach umbrella and beach mats useful. Would be great to add a couple beach chairs. We did not use pool or common areas, but saw people using them/ including gas grills by the pool.

Great location, great beach vacation

Everything about the location and beach was great. Close to the airport, close to nice beaches and close to shopping areas and grocery stores. A few complaints we had were minor, however they were somewhat of a bother. The refrigerator was not keeping our items cold, and we had to throw out raw and cooked meat a day after we put it inside. But other than that, everything was great! Would stay again! Air conditioning was super nice to have .

Great Kona condo

Our stay at this location was very pleasant. Our interactions with the property management company for the unit was outstanding in all cases. They provided access to David, the concierge as an optional complimentary service. He was wonderful - very responsive and was able to suggest some really good things to see and do on the big island. The Manta Ray swim that he arranged for us was the highlight of our trip. The unit was spotlessly clean and right across the street from a nice beach with beautiful water. The artwork was visually pleasing in a mostly Hawaiian style. The Lanai was large with newer outdoor furniture and plenty of room to enjoy. There was also several masks, snorkels and noodles. Nothing is perfect however - so I will say that the bathrooms, although nicely updated in flooring, painted walls and lighting - would benefit from some updates in the bath and shower tiles and fixtures. The kitchen only had a few spices and some canola oil spray - so you may need to plan for that when doing a grocery run. Other than that, I could find no fault with this well-kept and well-managed unit.

We loved how large it was & the designated spaces for our family of 4. The kids had no issues in their own room and in the evenings they would go to sleep and we'd enjoy time on the deck. Nice and clean. Well stocked with linens but missing basic amenities like coffee, tea, tinfoil, starter bottles of water, conditioner, an outdoor drying rack and basic spices/condiments. We also had to check out at 11am and tried to extend our rental a day since we didn't fly out until 11pm that night, but they were unable to accommodate the extension. If you have kids, I recommend paying for an extra day if you have a red-eye flight. Highly recommend the Magic Sands restaurant across the road, but BBQing while the kids swam was our fav. The pool is great and well maintained. The grounds and parking are awesome. We do not recommend the Kona Trolley - it is always late and gross. Rent a car the whole time or take an Uber. Kona itself is really cool and the local beaches enjoyable but not really swimmable. For kids stick to the pool or drive to Hapuna Beach or Anaeho'omalu Beach. The Black Sands down south are a must see, but go on a cloudy day as it's hot and gritty. DO NOT waste your time at Botanical World or Hilo. The Volcano National Park was amazing. Pack a ton of food and water when you adventure anywhere. The island is really lacking in consistent places to eat. We had a really nice time and the kids had a blast. This unit was a great home base for it and highly recommend!

Excellent Stay

My family and I had an excellent stay! When we arrived it was easy to locate the place, our parking space, and start our vacation. It was a huge blessing to have a washer and dryer on site especially when we first arrived and all of the items in our luggage had been soaked from the downpour at the airport. It was really nice to have two full bathrooms for our family of four. And you can't beat the location; right across from the Magic Sands Beach which we ended our day at almost every night. The place was quiet, cozy, and had all of the amenities for us to make breakfast and dinner. The air conditioner worked well and kept us nice and cool. We would definitely stay here again if we ever get the amazing opportunity to return to the Big Island.

Big condo, comfy beds. We had a great trip!

This condo was a little older than some of the other ones we have stayed in but the beds were nice and comfy, plenty of clean sheets and towels, lots of pillows. The air conditioner was very loud, but it did keep the unit cool and the condo was spacious. Not lots of comfortable seating but if someone was planning on sleeping on the couch it wouldn't be bad. The shower heads need to be replaced. I'm not sure what is going on there, they work but the extension hose leaks. The washer/dryer worked well. We swam a lot in the pool, which was nice and warm, but it is almost entirely deep end, which is inconvenient for just standing around in the pool. Hot tub was very hot and awesome. The lanai was big and beautiful. Sound of birds in the morning was lovely. The beach across the street is a nice one but we never went to it because it was absolutely packed with people the entire time we stayed. The condo cleans out everything after every stay, so don't expect cooking oil, left over coffee, etc. Parking was convenient. Condo is up 2 flights of stairs, but you can take the elevator to the 2nd floor and walk up just a half flight if you like. The location was not bad, just a short drive on Ali'i to the main shops/restaurants, easy access to the "highway." There is a restaurant across the street you can walk to with beautiful views and a yummy shaved ice place in the next parking lot over, both are expensive but very convenient. We had a great trip! Great location, fit our needs

We’re a family of 6 and this 2BR/2BA + futon fit us perfectly. The pool & hot tub were great after Magic Sands beach which is just across the street. The condo was stocked with everything we needed including beach towels and beach gear (chairs, snorkeling fins, boogie board). The washer & dryer in the unit were helpful for packing light. Kona Concierge services helped us book a luau and nighttime manta ray excursion.

Great location, as advertised. Would recommend a few more amenities & comforts (bath mats, coffee/tea). Would make a big difference. Kitchen & refrigerator were thoroughly cleaned prior to check-in though bathrooms and floors weren’t as clean as I would have liked. The property management called to check in and assured me that they would take the issue up with the cleaning service. Overall would stay again and recommend this condo for a family vacation :) Mahalo!

Great Place - Right where you want to ne

I really enjoyed my stay here. We island jumped from Maui to the big island and although we weren't disappointed with Maui we wish we just stayed here. It is right in the middle of everything - good restaurants just down the street - a grocery store the opposite direction - and you are right across from a good beach. The beach is a little small and be appear crowded but just a drive down the road is another great beach (Hapuna I think). The "concierge" Dave or Mike or something like that - He was a good dude, real helpful and knowledgable. I would stay here on my next trip

Clean comfortable stay

Easy check in and check out. The place looked remodeled just recently with new flooring and it was very clean. While we were there, the pool and spa area was having a construction so we couldn’t use it but the vacation rental gave me a notice ahead of time and very helpful with near by activities and the recommendations on the island. They had snorkel gears for all 5 of us so we were able to go to snorkel locations without stopping at a rental shop. Cabinets at the house are filled with plenty of kitchen supplies; coffee maker, pots and pans, several types of dishes, blenders, etc. Enjoyed being at Lanai and listening to the ocean crashing into the rocks. I loved that I could just go across the street to see the sunset and chill on the rocks!! Perfect place to stay for our first time Kona and first time Vrbo. Mahalo!

Wonderful Property Right Across Great Beach

We really like the location of the Condo right across from Magic Sand Beach and not far from main tourist area of Kona. The complex has an elevator (good for transporting luggages), assigned parking, BBQ area, and a good-size pool. The property itself is not very modern but clean and comfortable with Wifi, central AC, inside W&D, big lanai, and great beds. The owner provided free Netflix, lots of snorkeling gears, and 1 boogie board. There’s a loud high pitch sound in the front bathroom that went on multiple times a day randomly, including in the middle of the night. We had to remember to close the bathroom and all bedroom doors to avoid being awaken by that sound at night. We found out towards the last days that garbage disposal and DVD player were not working. The unit needed a front mat. Our family really enjoyed the time that we spent in this property and we hope that we can come back again in the future.

Perfect spot for our family vacation!

Our family of 5 (2 adults, 3 teenagers) spent 6 nights here. It was our first trip to Hawaii and our first experience booking with VRBO. The location was great and wasn't nearly as busy as the rest of Alii Drive. The condo seemed bigger than it looked in the photos and there was lots of room for all of us. The kitchen was very well stocked and everything was clean. We saved a lot of money by getting groceries at KTA Super Store and Costco and making our own meals. We appreciated being able to use the snorkel equipment, boogie board and lawn chairs and spent a lot of time at Magic Sands Beach right across the road. The grounds and pool/hot tub are beautiful and well kept. Our kids enjoyed the pool table each day and we loved having morning coffee and watching the sun rise on the lanai. Unfortunately our vacation was cut short due to the coronavirus and needing to get back to Canada, but we would definitely stay here again.

With over 250 vacation rentals from oceanfront homes, ocean view condos and private estates, we are here for your every need, open seven days a week to take care of our guests and owners. With two locations in Kailua Kona and in Waikoloa, we have dedicated specialists in guest services managing reservations, maintenance, and property checks alongside our accounting, support, and marketing specialists.
