BEST FAMILY VACATION HOME AUF DER INSEL ORCAS

Suchen Sie nach Orcas Island direkt am Strand, einer spektakulären Aussicht, 4+ Schlafzimmern, 3+ Bädern und einer Lage in Gehweite der Stadt? Nicht viele Ferienhäuser erfüllen diese Kriterien, aber das North Shore Reef bietet all diese Eigenschaften und mehr. Dieses geräumige und attraktive Haus ist einfach die perfekte Wahl für Familienurlaube und Paare, die zusammen reisen.

Die Unterkunft befindet sich nur 1,6 km nördlich von Eastsound Village und bietet über einen öffentlichen Weg einen einfachen Spaziergang zu Geschäften und Restaurants. Wenn Sie die Haustür öffnen, werden Sie durch die großen Panoramafenster am Wasser des Hauses von einem atemberaubenden Blick auf Himmel, Meer und Berge begrüßt. Geradeaus gibt es einen Blick auf die Insel Sucia und in der Ferne erheben sich die schneebedeckten Gipfel der Canadian Cascade Range über die Nachbarinseln. Bei Flut können Sie Wale und Delfine beobachten, die im tiefen Wasserkanal vorbeiziehen. Bei Ebbe taucht das sandige vorgelagerte Riff aus dem Meer auf, um eine Vielzahl von Meereslebewesen wie Vögeln, Adlern und Seeleuten anzulocken Otter.

Die 3200 Quadratmeter große Residenz ist für ein ungezwungenes und komfortables Leben konzipiert. Der Eingang, das Wohnzimmer und das Esszimmer sowie die Terrasse, auf der Sie faulenzen, grillen, im Freien speisen und die herrlichen Sonnenuntergänge genießen können, sind zum Wasser hin ausgerichtet. Auf der Westseite des Grundstücks befindet sich eine teilweise umzäunte Wiese mit Feuerstelle. Von der Steilküste führt eine Treppe zum Kieselstrand, wo die Elemente der Natur an der Küste bewundert werden können.

Drinnen gibt es viel Platz für die gesamte Gruppe, um zu kochen, zu speisen und die gemeinsame Zeit zu genießen. Die Zubereitung der Mahlzeiten erfolgt in einer großen, gut ausgestatteten Küche mit modernen Geräten, einer Arbeitsinsel und einer Frühstücksecke. Das Esszimmer bietet Sitzgelegenheiten an einem ausziehbaren Tisch. Ein Schlafzimmer mit einem Kingsize-Bett befindet sich im Flur auf der Hauptebene. Angrenzend an dieses Hauptschlafzimmer befinden sich ein Badezimmer mit Dusche sowie ein Büro / Arbeitszimmer mit einem ausziehbaren Sofa, das für ein Kind oder einen zusätzlichen Gast geeignet ist. Für Flexibilität gibt es eine Tür, mit der Sie diese drei Räume in eine private Suite einschließen können. Ein Waschraum mit extra Toilette und Waschbecken befindet sich ebenfalls direkt neben der Küche auf der Hauptebene.

Im Obergeschoss mit Blick auf das Wohnzimmer befindet sich ein Loft mit einem Schnittsofa und einem Fernseher, auf dem Sie fernsehen oder Filme schauen können. Das Loft trennt zwei obere Schlafzimmerflügel. Ein Flügel enthält ein Badezimmer mit Badewanne / Dusche und ein Schlafzimmer, das groß genug ist, um sowohl ein Queensize-Bett als auch zwei Einzelbetten / Ausziehbetten aufzunehmen. Die zwei weiteren Schlafzimmer befinden sich auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite des Lofts und teilen sich ein drittes Badezimmer mit Wanne / Dusche. Das größere Schlafzimmer enthält auch ein Queen-Size-Bett sowie ein Twin / Trundle; Das kleinere Zimmer bietet ein Queensize-Bett.

Wonderfully relaxing vacation!

The view was spectacular from inside the house and from the deck!! Low tide was great for exploring the beach for my grandchildren as well as the adults! I definitely recommend this vacation home for families and friends

Amazing view and deck

The house was perfect for nine people. Plenty of room for sleeping and hanging out. The view and backyard deck were amazing. We watched the beautiful sunsets every night.

Insects infestation, terrible windows & amazing views

We paid nearly $11,000 for an 8 day stay and while the views and property were amazing, overall it just felt really run down. At this price point, there’s no reason to leave so many things in poor condition. THE BAD After being out for most of the morning, we returned to find the dining room windows covered in crane flies that appeared to being coming up from the window baseboards along with some ants. After using a vacuum that sounded like an air raid siren for nearly an hour we got rid of most of the bugs but didn’t feel comfortable eating in the dining room with our kids anymore. The manager said they’d try to get a pest control person then said they’d try to provide a credit for the inconvenience and neither ever happened. Toilets, bathtubs, showers and most importantly windows were all in a state of disrepair. By our count, 90% of the windows did not function properly if at all and only about 10% of the windows had signs saying they were broken and shouldn’t be used. Clearly the owner does not care about having working windows as many of the handles were missing, the levers were rusted and we worried that if we did open and close them and they broke, we’d get stuck with a bill. The side yard has a wooden gate that has rotted and won’t stay closed so we had dog poop and deer poop in our yard that our kids ran through unexpectedly. We had the primary bathroom toilet stop flushing and The issue wasn’t communicated clearly to the plumber so when they came out to fix it they didn’t really address the root of the issue and we had to continue using other toilets in the house. Lastly, the wireless internet connection was horrendous. Barely able to stream movies. THE GOOD The layout is great for multiple families to have plenty of space to themselves. The views are amazing, access to your own beach (although really rocky) is a big plus, a nice covered area for outdoor dining made even more use of the great views. Overall, if the home was better maintained we would love to stay here again. If not, there are better places for this much money.

Our favorite on Orcas.

We have stayed in several different accommodations on Orcas, but this was our favorite. The location and the view are just wonderful. We loved playing games in the living room and looking out at the Sound. We also enjoyed the easy .75 mile walk into Eastsound. The home is older, but very clean with updated appliances. Management was quick and responsive to the one small problem (heater needed to be reset) during our stay. The home was overall perfect for my family and we would love to stay there again.

Orcas getaway

We had one and half days with no heat or hot water. But it was finally resolved. Two burners on the stove top didn’t work. So it was difficult for my husband to cook for the group. The upstairs shower drain was clogged so when you showered the water would rise in the tub and drain slowly. The house was beautiful and plenty of room for all of us. Overall we had an awesome stay. Can’t go wrong with beautiful Orcas island

The location is fantastic, close to Eastsound and right on the water. We had deer come through the yard, watched otters playing while we ate dinner and saw bald eagles. Loved the house and Orcas Island

The house was unusually clean (no sticky cabinets or drawers in the kitchen) and outstandingly well supplied. We had plenty of room for the nine of us (3 generations) and that included enough seating in the dining room (which is bizarrely frequently not the case in a vacation rental). The view from the deck and inside the house is 180 degrees, so we early risers were able to enjoy both sunrises and sunsets, which were outstanding. We walked or drove to town, drove to hiking and boating in Moran State Park and Turtleback Mountain, attended a concert at the Chamber Music Festival, went whale watching, saw eagles and had an excellent vacation all around. The property was as described and as pictured and the manager was helpful. The house is comfortable, clean, well laid out, conveniently located and has an amazing view. We hope to return.

We were able to prepare and share many meals as a group. The unobstructed views of the sound and wildlife were enjoyed from the back yard and through the wall of windows in the common areas of the house. Stairs down to the water allied us to explore at low tide. Town was s short bike ride away. We would definitely rent this house again.

Wonderful Family Reunion

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This property in in a beautiful location on the north shore of Orcas Island. The views are stunning, the rooms are very large, our extended family ranging form 8 months to 67 years all loved our stay ansd were able to spread out comfortably. There is a big TV/lounge room on the second floor which allowed for different activities to not conflict. My favorite feature was a big double-ended, open sided couch in front of the big north facing window where one could sit side-by-side or facing to read or chat and enjoy the view of the water and islands. A small complaint I had was handled very fairly and amicably by the rental agency. The restaurant “Roses” in towns is a wonderful and delicious spot that accommodated the 8 of us (2 babies) without fuss. Loved this place!!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: A perfect location for a family gathering. Walking distance to kayaking and whale watching adventures. A pretty easy 1.5 mile walk to "downtown" Eastsound for dining and shopping. It was more pricy that what we typically pay for our family gathering at various west coast locations but could not beat the view, there was plenty of room to spread out and the house was well equipped including a yummy welcoming home-made quick bread.
