Amazing Site but misled about ballooning
We stayed in the Ilan Ilan unit. The unit was clean, gorgeous, secluded, surrounded by foliage and over looking a meadow and hills. Each day toucans, scarlet macaws and many other smaller birds flew by. The food was delicious.There was a huge tree above the unit that had thousands of walnut sized seed/nuts that were constantly dropping from 30-40 feet up onto the steel roof which definitely effected the amount of sleep we got.(i did not let this impact the rating I gave...part of nature)The ATV outing to the hot spring was tons of fun and the hot spring and river was not as busy as some places and offered pool of varied temperatures.I lowered the rating because upon booking our visit to La Finca I let them know I wanted to do a bucket list item which was The hot air ballooning. We booked 8 nights to be sure that there would be enough days available to find a perfect weather day.When we booked 9 months ahead we were told: "We've added tentatively one of those dates to try flying you , given we rely on ideal weather conditions."However upon check in we were told they wont be flying and another staff member told us it does not normally fly this time of year and was closed until June.VERY DISAPPOINTING!!! as ballooning was the reason we booked here. Had we been told that they never or not likely to fly at this time of year we would have book another time of year or a shorter stay. FELT MISLED!
