First we want to thank Christian and Kiki for their warm hospitality.
We were in Sweden for a week visiting family and friends in Stockholm, and had decided a year ago to rent a summer cottage in the archipelago for this trip. We chose this wonderful location and made the arrangements with Christian and Kiki, so we had almost a year looking forward to this trip. We were not disappointed in the least when we arrived on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in August 2016. The location and view is stunning, really indescribably. You have to see it for yourself to appreciate it.
The cottage itself is, of course, VERY Swedish...cute, functional, perfectly clean, and with everything needed to quickly feel at home. Grocery shopping and restaurants are nearby, but we mostly enjoyed preparing our own meals in the very nice and fully functional kitchen.
There is so much to do to have a fulfilling vacation...swimming , boating, fishing, hiking, canoeing, biking, etc, however our priority was visiting family and friends. We did our visits both in Stockholm and also having family out at the cottage, which kept us busy for the week. One highlight of the week was just enjoying coffee (and vino :-)) sitting on the patio and taking in the view of the sea. We also enjoyed the wood-fired sauna on the first day we arrived after the grueling flight from the USA. And even the dip in the Baltic after "cooking" in the sauna for 20 minutes, and then quickly back to the sauna, of course. Very relaxing.
I would just say, we will return and hopefully, in the not too distant future.
Thank you again to Christian and Kiki, we enjoyed meeting you, and appreciated your making the cottage available to we distant travelers, and to respecting our privacy while being completely accessible to meet our needs. We are open to answering any questions to potential renters if they want contact us. Hard to get everything into a review like this.
Cheers
Bill and Berit
