Perfect location

We had a group of older guys fishing for a couple of days out of the IOP Marina. Location was less than a mile away from where we needed to go to meet our captain. House was clean and easy to find and had a perfect location between the marina and dining/groceries. Likes the price for where it was and slept all of us comfortably. If we ever go again will probably try to seek this rental again. Host was helpful in finding local amenities a well even though we didn’t use them. Nice bonus

Great Place to Stay

This home fit the bill for us. We were up for my daughter's wedding and this home was close to the venue. We had everything we needed. Host was very communitive.

A total steal!

I don’t understand the negative reviews. The place smelled great, it looked great, the location was perfect. I went down for a work conference and my family stayed here. They were closer to the beach and conference than I was! 3 minutes from Wild Dunes Resort and a healthy but brief walk to the beach. Very spacious and I don’t think the pictures do it justice.

Property on a good price

It’s a very old house with Mold smell and appliance are also very old ( functional but not in a very good way ) there are insect in the house but the location and overall environment was good .

Very nice house

House was in a nice location- 3 blocks from the beach. Alex, assistant to Kelly, appeared at check-in to make sure the home was spotless....It was very clean. Nice supplies- kitchen dishes, etc. Nice appliances and even 2 bicycles for use. We would stay in this house again.

Bargain/Value Pick

The property was thoroughly cleaned prior to our arrival. However, the overall place had a musty smell that lingered during the trip. The porch wasn’t really usable due to the smell and lack of working fixtures. The fan in the main living broke the first day we were there as well as several light fixtures/fans being extremely old/partially broken. The air conditioner also was not working properly, but the property manager was responsive and brought in a portable unit to cool the house within 12 hours of being notified. The property was very dark inside even in the middle of the day and the furniture has to be over 20 years old. However, the place had plenty of space, the kitchen’s appliances are new and the washer and dryer worked fine. From a price to proximity of the beach perspective, the house is close for the price. The property feels like it hasn’t been updated in 30 years or so, but kept relatively clean. Overall, it was a decent place for the price we paid. However, if I went to isle of palms again, I would probably pony up a few more dollars for something a little more updated.

Awful! Absolutely disgusting!

It was awful. The place smelled like mold and mildew. I had hoped it would dissipate but it did not after a day. There were dead bugs in the corners and mold in the tiles in the bathrooms. The furniture was old, smelly and saggy. By the second day, I could not breath well and we decided to leave even before the time I had paid for had ended. I booked another unit with another company and had to pay again. The owner, Kelly, I think, was impossible to reach. She never picked up, but would maybe call back in a few hours. She did not even tell me how to get into the unit until the day before my trip. I don't like doing things at the last minute. She was very unhelpful. I told her we were checking out and wanted a partial refund and she never got back to me again. When I talked to VRBO about the problem they asked for me to send pictures which I sent. And the customer service rep had nerve to argue with me that it was not black mold in the bathroom, just mildew. Unbelievable! Is she a mold expert, too. And why should I pay money to go on vacation to a place with mildew? VRBO offered me a $25 credit toward another rental. As if! I will never ever rent with them again! I will not rent from VRBO in the future.

Nice location

Was a great location for the price. A 10 minute walk to the beach (about 5 blocks), 20 minutes or less driving to everything else. Home was a bit older, but served the purpose of comfy beds and a place to stay. The 2 living rooms was nice to spread out. Just wishing the windows on the porch had screens, too warm to just sit on the porch and mosquitoes too bad to open the windows. Neighborhood quiet and always felt safe. Beach chairs, body boards, bikes and toys (we added a few sand castle molds) were great to have. Overall had a great stay. Would definitely stay here again.

Very nice ‘At Home’ feeling

My daughters and niece stayed for one week and felt very much at home! The communication with Kelly was great...she responded quickly to questions! Although house is only five blocks from the beach we opted to drive there and park because we took beach chairs and other stuff! The house, linens, towels, etc. were clean and mattresses were comfy! The dehumidifier took moisture out of the air and that needs to be emptied once in a while.

Cozy great value home

The home was a ten minute walk from the beach tucked back in a peaceful cul-de-sac. The interior was a bit dated but the house was perfect for its purpose...a place to crash a stone's throw away from the beach. The owner was kind enough to provide bikes, boogie boards, and a cooler.

Affordable and comfortable

While the home is older and the styling is out of date, it was meticulously cleaned and exactly as described. The beds were comfortable and all of the appliances were new. It is an easy walk to the beach and there are plenty of beach toys and items so you don't have to buy anything besides a swimsuit and sun screen. There are plenty of towels and a washer and dryer if you need it.

2 Night Stay

Disappointed that our stay was shortened by owner from 3 days to 2 days just one week before our stay. Had to scramble to find a hotel for our last day. Even though the owner compensated us somewhat, it cost us more $. House was adequate but smelled quite musty.
