Mountain Joy Cottage # 3, Owl Lodge, ist ein 5 Schlafzimmer, 4. 5 Bad (2 mit Jacuzzi-Wannen) Lodge, die 15 schlafen kann.

Ursprünglich das Heim von Maggie Setzer, nach dem Maggie Valley benannt wurde, ist das Land, in dem Mountain Joy liegt, ein besonderer Ort. Sie werden von Bergcharme, familiärer Atmosphäre und Charakter verzaubert sein. Wir bieten Ihnen alle modernen Annehmlichkeiten, die Sie mit dem ganzjährigen Zugang und Abgeschiedenheit erwarten, die nur wenige bieten können.

Genießen Sie die ruhige ländliche Umgebung unserer Ferienhäuser. Wir verfügen über ein, zwei und vier Schlafzimmer, alle mit Holzkamin, Kabel-TV, Internet und Küchen, die bereit sind, eine hausgemachte Mahlzeit zuzubereiten. Vor den Veranden stehen Schaukelstühle, so dass Sie Ihren Morgenkaffee oder abends den Sonnenuntergang in den Bergen genießen können. Unser beiliegender Außenpool (saisonal) bietet einen herrlichen Platz zum Entspannen.

Die Mountain Joy Cottages befinden sich in zentraler Lage im Herzen von Maggie Valley, nur einen Häuserblock weiter oben in der Setzer Cove Road. Von hier gelangen Sie bequem zu allen Sehenswürdigkeiten der Umgebung. Wir sind nur wenige Minuten vom Scenic Blue Ridge Parkway und dem Nationalpark Great Smoky Mountains entfernt. Die Gegend ist voll mit Kunsthandwerks-, Antiquitäten- und Geschenkeläden. In der freien Natur können Sie reiten, Golf auf den umliegenden Bergbahnen, Forellenangeln in Bächen, Wildwasser-Rafting und landschaftlich reizvolle Fahrten genießen. Im Skigebiet Cataloochee können Sie mit der ganzen Familie Ski fahren und Schläuche ausleihen. Das Nachtleben umfasst alles von Jazz bis Bluegrass, Clogging oder Dinner-Unterhaltung. Unsere Ferienhäuser sind nur eine kurze Fahrt von der Great Smoky Mountain Railway, dem Biltmore Estate in Asheville, dem Cherokee Indian Reservation und dem Harrah's Casino und der historischen Innenstadt von Waynesville entfernt.

Unabhängig von der Jahreszeit haben die Mountain Joy Cottages und die Great Smokies etwas ganz Besonderes zu bieten. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was a great rental. Clean. Nice sized for large extended family. Loved the huge dining table to allow us to all eat together. Grands enjoyed the pool and basketball court. I loved the feel that it was secluded area with easy access, but yet right near the main area of town. My only negative was missing a pitcher (which we bought a plastic from DG and left)and no baking sheets. We did our cooking at home mostly so enjoyed the stocked kitchen. Especially looked forward to our daily elk visits. We identified at least 6 different ones. Loved watching them. Yes, I would rent again and recommend. This would be awesome for something like a family reunion where each could rent their own cottage yet have all of the outside common space, fire pit, pool, playground, basketball court.

This is our 3rd stay at Mtn. Joy Owl cabin. The large size works great for our family. The little ones enjoy the fishing. The elk never disappoint. The pool is nice, and cold (just like a mountain stream). Even though the cabin could use a little extra love, the size fits our needs and we know what to expect at this point.

Very comfortable but no toilet paper

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house was central to ski resort, tubing and puzzle room. For family of 10 it was very comfortable. The only complaint I had was that 3 of the 5 bathrooms had no toilet paper when we arrived. We had to go buy it, which for the price charged I feel the owner should supply toilet paper and a roll of paper towels. The space was great and the large kitchen table was great for games. The room layout was perfect for the family. Would rent again.

Carolina Vacations has AWESOME customer service and were very helpful with making and paying for my reservation. The cabin was clean and comfy as usual and my family totally enjoyed the entire visit. Would definitely recommend this place again!

Great place!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Maggie Valley. The property is great and was plenty spacious for our large family that includes several children. We got to see elk and ducks right in the front yard several times each day! The cabin was well stocked and for the most part clean. The dishwasher did not work, one tv was broken and another was missing a remote that we later found under a bed. But all in all it was totally worth it and we are already planning our trip for next year :)

Disappointed

The property is a nice property, but with no one showing it any love. I rented this cabin for my sister’s 70th birthday with 4 couples, all over 60. It was extremely dusty and dirty. So dusty, that I started sneezing as soon as I stepped in the door and my throat got scratchy to the point I took an allergy tablet. Spider webs in corners with spiders attached. Ants in the kitchen. I’m glad my husband and I got there early to decorate. We had to literally clean and dust before decorating . We had no choice out of town family was due there in a couple of hours and I didn’t want to be embarrassed by renting it and I couldn’t get a refund. I didn’t want to ruin my sisters birthday weekend. We definitely left it better than when we got there. My brother even had to fix a couple of items. We have pics. All and all I’m just glad my sister had a great time!

Owl Lodge great for multiple families. Needs thorough cleaning.

If you can get past an occasional stink bug and dust bunnies, Owl lodge is a great location for multiple families. The pond was great for kids fishing and the basketball hoop and open central area were perfect for our 4-11 year olds. A total of 13 in our group of all ages fit comfortably. Impressive kitchen equipment selection available. Clean linens and lots of towels, but needed all floors cleaned in and around furniture. Although many lights did not function and fans were all covered in layers of dust, we would stay again!

Family Vacation

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: When we arrived rental agency did excellent job.arrival at the cabin, not so good. The cabin was not clean, linen was dirty, cobb webbs on all the ceilings and walls. The cabin had very bad odor of CURRY!there were seven or eight bags of garbage out side by the A/C condensing units. Two of the rooms Bed Comforters had very bad damp spots on Them, looked like Sex Spots, we had too clean and mop the floors and clean bathrooms and kitchen,spray cabin several times for odor. one of the A/C heat pumps keept freezing up and making noise. You should check after cleaning crew.

Great house that needs a good cleaning

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house is perfect for safe distancing during a pandemic. Large rooms, very comfortable furniture, an enormous kitchen table for games and puzzles as well as eating, well-stocked kitchen with plenty of dishes, pots, pans and utensils. However, it needs some deep cleaning and a few repairs. Locks don’t work on all the doors, windows over kitchen sink were filthy, most dishes needed a good washing, cabinet below sink lacked flooring probably due to past water damage, heavy cobwebs in some bedroom corners and around lamps, dirty baseboards, missing or burned out light bulbs in lamps. On the other hand, management was very helpful and courteous. We reported a leak from the refrigerator the day we checked out, and a repairman was there before we left. I would definitely stay here again, in the hopes that these issues will be addressed.

Reviewer Comments: The cabin had rustic elements with modern conveniences and was very spacious for our party of 10. The location and amenities were great! The kids really enjoyed the pool and fire pit on the grounds. There was a pond for fishing, and we saw ducks, rabbits and elk on the property. Our only issue was with people coming to our cabin to check in or inquire as to availability. The first time was somewhat amusing but the second time a woman actually entered our cabin and startled us! I guess our cabin housed the rental office at one point.

Reviewer Comments: We had 7 adults and 5 teenagers and there was plenty of room for all of us. One of the biggest things we were hoping to see in that location was the elk, and they did not disappoint. Our daughters and their girl cousins loved the upstairs room as their own girl getaway. Even with things closed down due to the virus, we had a very memorable time. Thanks for having us.

Security concern, entertainment missing

Cabin has more than 5 doors to come-in or go. Main door doesnt has lock at all. One bedroom doesn't has lock from in side. TV remote was not available in living room. Table tennis was not available. Dart game was completely broken. Foosball table missing one handle.
