Der Raum

Das im Jahr 2015 entworfene und erbaute Gästehaus befindet sich an der nordwestlichen Ecke eines 1 Hektar großen Grundstücks, mehr als 200 Meter vom Haupthaus und der Straße entfernt und bietet absolute Privatsphäre.

• Geräumige 500 qm Wohnfläche mit einer zusätzlichen 330 qm überdachte Veranda, ideal für Sitzplätze im Freien. Das Haus ist nach Süden gerichtet und erhält viel Sonnenlicht.

• WOHNZIMMER: Ziehen Sie ein Schlafsofa und einen 40-Zoll-TV mit Roku heraus, einschließlich Netflix-, Amazon Prime- und HBO-Abonnements.

• KÜCHE: Kochherd (Backofen / Broiler / Kochfeld), Mikrowelle, großer Kühlschrank, Kaffeemaschine, Wasserkocher, Mixer, Reiskocher, Toaster und alle notwendigen Küchenutensilien zum Kochen und Essen.

GASTZUGANG

Der Parkplatz links im überdachten Carport ist für Gäste reserviert. Viele zusätzliche kostenlose Parkplätze sind auf der Straße verfügbar.

Sie betreten das Anwesen durch ein privates Tor und gehen durch einen privaten Weg, der Sie direkt zum Gästehaus bringt.
Sie haben Zugang zu einem riesigen Swimmingpool. Am tiefsten Ende ist das Becken 10 Fuß tief. Sie machen solche Pools nicht mehr! Bitte beachten Sie, dass der Pool nicht beheizt ist, aber wir haben hier eine ziemlich lange Badesaison. Der perfekte Ort, um diese kalifornische Sonnenbräune zu bekommen!

Sie haben auch Zugang zu einem freistehenden 570 Quadratmeter großen Spielzimmer am Pool mit einer Bar (eigene Getränke mitbringen!), ein Klavier, ein großer maßgeschneiderter Pool (amerikanischer Billardtisch), eine Stereoanlage, ein Bluetooth-Lautsprecher, ein Loungebereich und mehrere Brettspiele und Bücher.

Genießen Sie einen Mittagsschlaf in der Hängematte und wählen Sie je nach Jahreszeit Früchte der verschiedenen reifen Obstbäume auf dem Grundstück: Granatäpfel, Feigen, Zitronen, Orangen, Mandarinen ...

DIE NACHBARSCHAFT

Das Kenneth Village befindet sich nur 5 Gehminuten entfernt. Dort finden Sie Restaurants, ein kleines Lebensmittelgeschäft, einen veganen Joghurtladen, ein Café und eine große französische Bäckerei.

Wir sind nur zwei Blocks vom Brand Park entfernt, wo Sie die Brand Art Library, das Doctor's House, den Japanese Tea Garden und mehrere Wanderwege in den Bergen von Verdugo finden, von denen Sie einen atemberaubenden Blick auf die Stadt Los Angeles genießen können.

Wir haben einen kleinen Hund (ein Yorkie / Malteser Mix), eine weiße Perserkatze und ein paar sehr ruhige Hühner (kein Hahn) auf dem Grundstück. Die Hühner haben ihren eigenen eingezäunten Bereich im Hinterhof, jedoch dürfen der Hund und die Katze während der Tageszeit, wenn wir zu Hause sind, frei im Hinterhof herumlaufen. Bitte lassen Sie uns wissen, wenn Sie mit Haustieren unwohl sind, und wir werden sie drinnen behalten. Bitte beachten Sie, dass Haustiere im Gästehaus nicht erlaubt sind.

HAUSREGELN

Check-Ins sind nach 15 Uhr und Check-Outs sind vor 12 Uhr. Ausnahmen können nach vorheriger Ankündigung auf Verfügbarkeitsbasis erfolgen.

Nehmen Sie am Tag Ihrer Abreise bitte alle Ihre Sachen mit, lassen Sie die schmutzigen Handtücher in der Waschküche, schalten Sie den Ofen, die Klimaanlage / Heizung, den Fernseher und das Licht aus, lassen Sie die Schlüssel auf dem Küchentisch und schließen Sie die Tür. Der Rest wird von unserer Reinigungsmannschaft erledigt.

Eine einmalige Reinigungsgebühr wird für professionelle Reinigungsdienste erhoben, die vor Ihrer Ankunft durchgeführt werden. Für zusätzliche Reinigungs- / Reinigungsservices, die während Ihres Aufenthalts angefordert werden, fallen zusätzliche Gebühren an.

Bitte halten Sie die Fenster und Terrassentüren geschlossen, während der AC / Heizung eingeschaltet ist. Stellen Sie außerdem sicher, dass Sie den Backofen, die Klimaanlage / Heizung, den Fernseher und die Beleuchtung bei jedem Verlassen des Gebäudes ausschalten. Das Gästehaus verfügt über Feuer / Kohlenmonoxid-Detektor und automatische Sprinkleranlage. Im Notfall rufen Sie bitte zunächst den Notruf an und kontaktieren uns dann.

Bitte halten Sie das Eingangstor immer geschlossen.

Kinder müssen jederzeit beaufsichtigt werden. Bitte beachten Sie, dass die Unterkunft nicht kindersicher ist und der Pool ziemlich tief ist.

Besuche von einigen Freunden und Familienmitgliedern während des Tages sind erlaubt, jedoch ist die Anzahl der Personen, die im Gästehaus übernachten dürfen, auf drei beschränkt.

Große Partys und Veranstaltungen sind in der Unterkunft nicht gestattet. Wir befinden uns in einer sehr ruhigen Wohngegend. Bitte sei respektvoll zu den Nachbarn und halte den Lärmpegel niedrig.

Haustiere sind im Gästehaus nicht erlaubt.

Sweet spot

Ilda and Mike were very helpful and nice people. Location was convenient to the places we wanted to visit. Everything was so comfortable and the garden was a delight! We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. We would like to stay here again and would highly recommend this spot!

Quiet and peaceful

The cottage itself was clean, quiet, and comfortable. It’s in a very nice neighborhood with ample parking. They did offer us the carport, but we preferred the street. We had a brief connection issue with the Wi-Fi when we first arrived that the owner responded to immediately and corrected. The Wi-Fi worked fine after that for the 5 nights we stayed. For the cottage we would stay there again. However, the grounds have not been kept well and needs attending. So we did not use the outdoors. If there was ever a lawn, it has been overtaken by exposed dirt, weeds and foxtails. They do keep the main area mowed, but the tall dried weeds and foxtails have overtaken the shrubs and flowers. There were 2-4” tall weeds and foxtails growing between the bricks on the pathway. With the California drought, I can understand not keeping up a lawn, but the weeds and foxtails really need to be attended to. With that said, we still enjoyed our stay and would recommend it. They just need give the grounds some TLC to make it a five star.

Wonderful!

This was our second stay at Ilda and Mike’s beautiful cottage. It really is a private retreat surrounded by fruit trees with a beautiful pool and game room. Walking distance to West Kenneth Village’s French bakery, coffee shop, great taco place and Frozen yogurt. The house itself is clean, very comfortable and has everything you need, plus more! This year we discovered that even when it’s 96 degrees here the porch is shaded throughout the day and there is a lovely breeze off the mountain behind us. We really enjoyed all the amenities and Ilda and Mike are wonderful hosts.

Perfect space Perfect place

This was our 2nd stay at what our grandchildren call "the Hollywood pool". Our sleep space was perfect and the pool was amazing. Our son lives one block away so we could walk back and forth. The fruit trees are wonderful, the resident dog is adorable and the chjckens are very interesting.

My husband and I truly enjoyed staying at this adorable little house in a beautiful setting. The house was clean and had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable. We can not rave enough how great our stay was. The accommodations were awesome, new and clean and well provided very quiet neighborhood, great location to shopping and coffee shops etc... Hosts were great and responsive to all needs, we even stayed 2 extra days The chickens were my new friends, they even provided fresh eggs!- (and their dog is very cute and friendly. (she likes tummy rubs. When we come back to visit my son in LA- no other spot I would rather stay! Thanks Ilda and Mike

DONT RENT FROM THIS ABUSIVE LADY!!!!!!

Where do I began? You may be wondering why I have four stars by reading the title. Well everything started fine the house was clean ida was there at check in but that’s not what destroyed my trip. I will NEVER RENT FROM THIS CRAZY LADY AGAIN. So prior to my check-in not booking I asked Ida could I invite my fiancée’s daughter son and 2 grandchildren which are 2 and 8 years old. She says yes now being an adult I will admit she may have thought I meant to visit but I was asking can they join us here during our stay. The reason being it was my fiancées 50th birthday we live in Michigan and the kids live in Cali he has never met his 2 year old granddaughter so it was a surprise. After she said it was at at 4pm we left and didn’t come back until 830 pm which is when the kids pulled up as well we all were exhausted so we went to sleep. The next morning I receive a message from Ida with these options I can leave at noon and receive a refund for the three remaining days I have left or the kids would have to leave by noon and will not be allowed to come back to stay or visit daytime or night if I choose to stay. Per house rules 6 people not allowed ok I completely understand small space and house rules but I asked before they came we were not loud or anything seeming that you are a host you could have came to me and said u misunderstood what I was asking. So I took the refund option and left the kids stay an hour away so we went with them that’s the only reason they wanted to stay is because of the drive. When check out time came Ida and Mike met up with me the house was clean no issues my fiancée asked is there a reason we had to leave this is when all hell broke loose. IDA ABRUPTLY ANSWERS I ALREADY TOLD YOU WHY!!!!!! I said wow you don’t have to be rude she THE. STARTS SCREAMING YES SCREAMING I DONT HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS I BEEN NICE TO “YOU PEOPLE” her husband mike tells her to calm down why is she screaming she continues no one is yelling but her. I told my fiancée to go to the car. She is still going nuts turning red and everything THEN STORMS AWAY FROM US AND YELLS IM NOT REFUNDING YOU NOTHING THEN YELLS AT ME AND SAYS “SHUTUP WHILE I GIVE YOUR REFUND JUST SHUTUP” I still remained calm her husband kept apologizing to me and telling her to stop she wouldn’t hear it. Then she comes back towards me real confrontational and “YELLS TAKE YOUR SIX PEOPLE AND GO GET OFF MY PROPERTY “ Mike again apologizes to me and says you will get your refund.

The guest home was perfect for my needs - it was wonderful to have the full kitchen and laundry. The private parking spot off the street was very nice. And the neighborhood is fantastic - I greatly enjoyed walking to Brand Park and all around the treelined streets of this area. Excellent property!

Glendale Paradise

This was our third stay with Ilda and Mike and it was fabulous, as always. They are the best hosts and the property is so lovely. It’s a great stepping off place for all things LA and a perfect refuge to which to return at night. The guest house is immaculate and quiet and the pool house provides extra room for us to spread out if we need to work. We can’t wait to visit again.

Oasis in Burbank

The property is in a very nice neighborhood. Interesting to walk or drive. Very beautiful homes. It is close to a beautiful park for walking and relaxing. It is close to downtown Burbank where are a very good and diverse selection of restaurants. Burbank is centrally located for easy access to Hollywood, Glendale, Passadena, Griffith park with all of its activities, Universal Amusement park, and many of the major studios. The property was beautiful. Very spacious. Very secluded and quiet. Lots of separate areas to congregate on the property. In the game room, around the pool, on the porch or in the lodging unit/small home in the back. I had some family and friends over during my stay and we used all of them. The pool is large. We used it once. It is not heated so is dependent on the weather. The unit is brand new, updated, and charming. Very nice inside. Lots of windows to let the CA sun shine in. It was nice to have a washer and dryer. Shower was great. The bed was great for sleeping. It is great for two people. Four people would be possible but tight. Would work with children. It is a great environment for children. Spacious, lots to explore. Game room was very useful with pool table, a piano and other activities. Of course, the swimming pool is a hit as well. I had my grandchildren over several times during my stay. The lodging unit is at the back of the property, far away from the main home which provides complete privacy. The grounds are full of flowers and fruit trees which makes it very beautiful.. Ilda and Mike were very warm hosts. Very inviting and accommodating. Available and responsive when needed. I truly enjoyed my stay, I plan to revisit as my travels bring me back to the Burbank area.

This property is such an oasis! Ilda and Mike are fabulous hosts and we love staying here. The location is quiet, peaceful and restorative. We had to do some remote work while we were on vacation and the WiFi is strong and dependable. The pool was such a treat on the very hot days and we took advantage of the pool house as a place to cool off and eat dinner. If you are looking for a spacious and private getaway, this is it. Glendale and Burbank have ample outside dining options and the area is doing really well with COVID-19 precautions. This is our second stay at the property and we will be returning later in the year. We can't recommend it highly enough!

Amazing place in great location

I almost didn't believe the online listing that talked about the privacy etc. but it was all true! Ilde was very helpful but after the initial introduction (including to the furry and feathery friends!) we felt as though it was our own home. Only better. With a pool!

A jewel!

We had a great stay! Ilda and Mike were great hosts and their guest house is a perfect place to stay in North LA! My son lives in Sherman Oaks and this was a great base for our visit. We visited the Getty Villa, Malibu, Pasadena, Downtown LA, and Griffith Park from our home base. In the afternoons, we came home and enjoyed a quick dip in the pool! Highly recommend. Also, fresh eggs from the chickens on the property. Don't worry the girls are very quiet. :)

The house, located in a quiet neighborhood, is welcoming. The bed was comfy. The kitchen was well-stocked. We had everything we needed. The swimming pool and outdoor area was everything my granddaughter could have dreamed of. The proximity to Universal Studios was great. I’d be happy to come again.

Lovely, charming, well appointed vacation home

We visited our sons over Memorial Day weekend and this VRBO home was a perfect location. It exceeded all our expectations. Loved the home, amenities, pool, quiet neighborhood. Beautiful Property and Area!

We truly enjoyed our week at this property! Everything was very clean and we had everything we needed. We were in the area to spend time with our son’s family and the pool area with bar/game room was perfect for our gatherings. Our grandson loved the pool, chickens, bunnies and other furry friends. Beautiful home to work and relax

My husband and I loved everything about our two week stay here in North Glendale, just 3 blocks from Brand Park and a 7-minute walk to charming Kenneth Village for coffee, a bakery and Hawaiian shave ice. The guest house was quiet and immaculate, with a well-equipped kitchen and super-comfortable queen bed. My husband and I took advantage of the super-fast wifi to work, one in the guest house and one in the pool house, with frequent breaks for a game of pool or a snack on the porch. Mike and Ilda are great hosts. Ilda brought us fresh eggs and baked us an Easter bread for Easter. They gave us complete privacy but were immediately available to give advice and answer questions. We love the neighborhood, which is shaded and quiet with views of the mountains. The yard has palm trees, lemon trees, and orange trees. We wish we could have stayed a month!

Fantastic place to stay

This is, without exception, the best vacation-rental property I have ever stayed in. I was in the area for 5 weeks on a business trip, in the middle of the pandemic, and chose the property based on the location and the ease of quarantining. Ilda and Mike are wonderful hosts - very friendly and laid back, but also extremely respectful of my privacy. The property was perfect, and had everything I needed for an extended stay, including a very well appointed kitchen. The gardens are lovely, and I enjoyed getting to know Bachik (the little yorkie) and the chickens, and picking oranges and lemons from the trees. I also appreciated the fresh eggs. The neighborhood is great for walking, and Brant Park is just a couple of blocks away. I hope to return!

Great place!

We really enjoyed our stay at Ilda and Mike’s house. They were available whenever we needed, very responsive and for the rest of the time, they gave us full privacy which was important for us. Our daughter had a blast, playing with the rabbits and all the other pets on the property. Ilda was super patient answering all of her questions and requests 😊 We would highly recommend this place for families with kids. Thank you Ilda and Mike for your great hospitality!
