Exclusive oceanfront property of individual villas with a pool and private beach on the nature side of Isla Colon.
This tropical sanctuary on a cliff over the Caribbean was built in 2019 as a mini-village of separate casitas with unique natural materials: teak, bamboo, venetian plaster, and travertine pavers throughout. It is both luxurious and modern, yet warm and artisanal.
Guests say the property feels like a 5 star spa, and brings deep relaxation. The property faces north and the open ocean with wonderful breezes.
The property is energy independent with a robust solar and rain catchment systems. We do not have air conditioning but the weather on the Caribbean is mild and we have north facing breezes. Temperatures vary from 75-85 degrees F (24-30 Celsius) year round.
Cala del Drago is perfect for those who prefer being immersed in nature to being in the âtouristâ zone of the bustling Caribbean town of Bocas on the other side of the island (15km). You will see monkeys passing by in the treetops from your living and dining rooms, as well as a couple of resident sloths, sometimes with a baby.
You can explore multiple beaches via jungle paths toward Playa Estrella, Yaris Nori Restaurant, and Bird Island Bungalows/Restaurant.
In addition to taxi and bus service, a complementary car and driver will take you to town once a week during your stay for errands and groceries.
The owners value beauty and comfort and have attended to every detail. Most indoor and outdoor furniture is imported and European craftsmen built all the doors, cabinetry, and carved accents from sustainable tropical woods. The kitchen is a cookâs dream with Bosch appliances, all clad cookware, multiple small appliances, spacious stone countertops, a walk in pantry, and tropical wood cabinetry.
In addition to the 3- bedroom villas, you can also rent the Blue Monkey House, a more rustic casita on the property. It has two bedrooms, a full bathroom, outdoor shower, and full screened outdoor kitchen/living.

We are a retired couple who fell in love with this property in 2017. We dedicated 2 years to building a unique, sustainable luxury vacation home for ourselves and our family and friends. We also like spending time in France and want to share this piece of paradise while we are gone.

The north side of Isla Colon is for nature lovers who want tranquility but easy access to services. Jungle paths and long beach walks make us often feel we have the island to ourselves.

Many people say this is one of the most beautiful homes on the island. Our architect spent days laying out the footprint to maximize views, breezes, and harmony with the land. We imported many of the materials, such as 40 year old sustainable teak, guandua bamboo, pool tiles from Jakarta, cream travertine from Turkey. Our private beach is both secluded and easily accessible.
