Cozy guesthouse with WiFi in charming Lake Leelanau
Stylish, one room living in gorgeous, central Leelanau- bustling village of Lake Leelanau, close to Leland. Our guesthouse is light & bright , overlooking the beauty of the gardens from a warm & cozy space.
We welcome visitors & hope you find comfort in our eco-friendly, solar powered tiny home. A big comfy sofa, snug loft bed, soft sheets, walk-in shower, mini fridge. Great main rd location in village center, easy walk to wineries, restaurants, & grocery. Perfect base for relaxing & exploring!
Originally part of the big house (a hotel built in 1902), we renovated the bedrooms and bath to create a unique guest quarters--a fab one room living space (315 sq feet interior), designed to comfortably host two.
The Minnow provides a clean, cozy, quiet getaway, while still being open and airy with large windows facing the private gardens of the property. Much of the materials used in decorating this space were repurposed and recycled from the old hotel or were reclaimed from other older properties.
Of Note: The sleeping area has an alternating staircase to access a queen bed. It is a little easier than a ladder but, not stairs--so it won't be for everyone. It is steep. The sleeping nook is only the size of the mattress and is compact and cozy. (Think top bunk.) There is limited headroom. Please ask if you have any questions about this feature.
Sustainability is important to us. In creating this space we used as much recycled and repurposed materials as possible. Where we could not, we chose goods that were the most sustainable available. We continue to strive to offer a low environmental impact visit to our guests. This includes: an organic kitchen garden (in season), solar powered electricity, plant and essential oil based cleaning products (we make it), recycled toilet paper (read the wrapper), and we continue to look for more opportunities to improve.
The garden is separated for use between Big House and Minnow. You have a lovely outdoor space for relaxing with your morning coffee or afternoon wine. The outdoor seating overlooks an organic vegetable and flower garden which offers something to nibble on through the growing season.
The generous outdoor space may add to your enjoyment of the Minnow. There is plenty of space to park bikes or kayaks just outside your door!
