This home had everything we wanted for our 3 generation family vacation this December - everything on one floor, open floor plan, expansive bright living space with bathrooms for each of the 3 bedrooms, centrally located lanai, large heated pool surrounded by lush greenery and with good visibility and door access from main living areas for child safety. It was also very well stocked with paper goods, spices and condiments, small kitchen appliances, bath soap, etc. And everything you need to enjoy fantastic beach days - beach chairs, umbrella, towels, toys (for beach and pool). Plus two like new bikes for adults with helmets and locks!
Location can't be beat - essentially 4 blocks from beach, 3rd Street shopping/restaurants, and 5th Avenue shopping/restaurants which allows for lots of flexibility with group/family vacationing together. All very walkable.
The last few years, we've vacationed and stayed in rental houses in Miami/Coral Gables, Fort Lauderdale, and now Naples. While we've had fantastic times at each of the places, Naples has been the best of all. Keep in mind, we travel with 2 toddlers. (Note:If looking for nightlife, this town is not for you.) Left freezing cold temps in DC and greeted by mid-70 degree temps in Naples!
Additional local recommendations:
For beach days, highly recommend the Lowdermilk park beach area, just a short driving distance north on Beachshore drive - bathrooms/showers, concessions, paddleboard and kayak rentals, not crowded (at least the week we were there).
Botanical Gardens - beautiful during day and with holiday lights, music, and kids activities at night. Lots for kids including a huge, well-designed, multifaceted kids area- bring the kids bathing suits for the splash fountain.
Naples Zoo - start with the monkey boat tour and then just following their schedule of guided sessions. tons of interesting stuff packed into a deceptively small area.
Everglades - west entrance (only a 45 minute drive south). Highly recommend the boat tours that leave from the national park Gulf Coast Visitor Center. We did the 10,000 Islands boat tour - saw ~20 dolphins swimming, playing, jumping in the ocean. Great guides.
The Baker Museum - small, but nice exhibits, great sculptures. Also lots of performances at the adjoining Artis-Naples which we didn't have a chance to attend.
Restaurants I wish we had time to try: Sea Salt, Turtle Club
