Summary:
Relax with friends and family on the deck or in the hot tub after a nice hike up the glacier, or after a good day of skiing!
The Space:
The house is nestled in the slope of a hill in the Colorado mountains close to 10,000 feet. It is available all year round and has gorgeous hiking from the house and access to three lakes in the area. There is also immediate access to 4x4 off roading just past the house. The house is located 15 minutes up Fall River road from Idaho Springs.
This is a two bedroom house with a large loft. The master bedroom and loft are upstairs and the second bedroom is on the main floor. Each main bedroom has a bathroom attached and a door to make them private. The loft is open to the upstairs but has a nice large queen over queen bunk. The upstairs full bath has a shower and a tub. The toilet in the upstairs bath also has a new Toto bidet.
On the main floor you will find the living room, kitchen, a bedroom, and the dining room. The large wood dining room table can seat 8 people. The pack and play and high chair are located in the bedroom closet on the main floor. The living room has three comfy chairs and an L shaped leather couch. The wood stove is in the living room and we provide stacked wood and some basic starting material for all guests. The kitchen is fully equipped with pots and pans, spices, glassware, and plates for cooking full meals. There is also several coffee making services in the kitchen. There is a Phillips 5500 espresso machine that makes 20 different drinks, just bring milk of your choosing. There is a drip coffee maker, a small pour over pot, and a single K cup machine available. For people that like tea there is an electric kettle that heats water very quickly. Off of the kitchen is a laundry room with washer, dryer and detergent. The exterior deck has the hot tub and off the side yard is a barrel sauna. We provide robes, pool towels and bath towels for all guests. During the winter you can get wind gusts so we ask all guest to secure the hot tub cover with the wire strap that is provided. In addition to the wind the driveway is steep and we require guests to park at the bottom when there is hard pack snow or ice on the driveway. The driveway is plowed as are the main roads but after a snow storm the driveway can be slippery. We encourage all guests to have AWD at a minimum with snow tires in the winter months. We ask that all guests properly place trash in the outside metal bin on the driveway as there are bears and other animals active in the area. Guests that leave garbage on the decks will be charged an extra cleaning fee.
The property is dog friendly up to two dogs but there is an extra dog fee of 100 dollars. We provide dog bowls and some doggie waste bags and a specific garbage can outside for dog waste.
Other Things to Note:
Please keep in mind that there is no generator on property but we do have back up battery lanterns if needed. There is no central air conditioning but even in the hottest months of summer the temperatures stay cool at night for sleeping. There is a central gas furnace that heats the house but there is only one zone. The thermostat is at the top of the stairs before the main bedroom. There is an extra oil space heater for the downstairs bedroom and on very cold nights we encourage the wood stove.
The water is town supplied water and is safe to drink. There is also town sewer so no issues related to septic tanks.
