Caribe Breeze is a very quiet, private villa that can accommodate up to 8 guests with new owners as of Dec 2024. It is now fully solar, off the grid. The villa was featured House Hunters International on the show "St. John Someday." Come see St. John’s natural beauty from Caribe Breeze.

Caribe Breeze boasts extraordinary, expansive views making it a wonderful place to relax - day or evening. British Virgin Islands are on the horizon, with breathtaking sun and moon rises. There are panoramic views of the Virgin Islands National Park, never to be developed. The sunrises and star-gazing are spectacular! Lay on a float in the pool at night and watch the shooting stars. The sound of the constant surf below is extremely calming.

There are two separate Master Suites (one King and one Queen) each with a lovely outdoor stone shower. Both the King and Queen Suites also have a single daybed for a child or extra guest. There is also a queen sleeper-sofa in the living area with its own private outdoor stone shower. Both bedrooms are reached by going outside and are not connected to the main living quarters, ensuring maximum privacy. The two lower suites have quiet Mitsubishi air conditioning. The villa can sleep up to eight comfortably. Pricing is based on two - four guests, and additional guests are $50 per person per night extra. The pool deck makes a great place to watch the tropical sunrises or enjoy a glass of wine or cold rum drink.
We have all the amenities of home, including large Roku TV, beach towels and chairs. This is a comfortable home with gorgeous interiors and furnishings.

You can walk to Salt Pond Bay and John's Folly Bay. There are several restaurants in Coral Bay and the Calabash Market is only 5 minutes away. There is excellent snorkeling just down the hill in John's Folly Bay, or drive a short distance to Salt Pond Bay and Lameshur Bay.

A rental car is a necessity. We recommend a jeep-type vehicle with some road clearance. It doesn't need to have 4WD. I have a list of all the rental agencies in St. John that I can provide, although Slim Man is a great choice. (It is also possible to rent a car in St. Thomas but it needs to be similar to a jeep and then you need to use the car ferry from St. Thomas and back.)

Excellent view and location

The location of the property is very close to Salt Pond Beach, our favorite beach. Additionally, the home itself is very private with beautiful views. Everything was clean and welcoming upon arrival. The property manager was super responsive and helpful. We would highly recommend this home.

Paradise

Exactly as described, the view was amazing. The location is very private and we really enjoyed the pool. The driveway to the house is rugged and google maps finally adjusted our travel time to get to our destinations allowing 10 minutes to slowly navigate the driveway. St. John's was an amazing island, wonderful people, snorkeling and lots of live music in Coral Bay.

Quiet Escape But Dated

The location was OKAY, far south eastern side of the island which has more rocky beaches and is more secluded and quiet. They're only about three restaurants that were a drive away and a couple of small and expensive grocery stores. The house itself was a bit more outdated than we had thought. We also had a few issues like the screens that were broken by a previous guest and the front door lock wouldn't work a couple of times so we couldn't get in and out very easily which was a major inconvenience but these were addressed within a day or two by the owner and property manager. The pool w clean but the deck was definitely in need of work and a bit hazardous. All the showers are outdoor which at first was a little weird but they actually were very pleasant and there was plenty of hot water but it does run out. The fan in the master bedroom did not work. Air conditioning works in the bedrooms as stated in the listing. It was incredibly windy up on the "hill" which kept the mosquitoes away but could be chilly at times. Overall it was interesting. Definitely need a 4x4 to get to the house because of the rough dirt roads. Having a large washer and dryer was great for Beach days. Lots of beach equipment and plenty of towels. Bring your own toiletries cuz what was provided was generic and gave my sensitive skin hives. Outdoor grill is great it was easy to use and already set up. Kitchen does not have a dishwasher. Furniture could use an update. Overall was fair.

Wonderful Stay

Great stay. The house was very well furnished. We cooked in most nights and the kitchen was great. Dawn coffee watching the cruise ships traverse Drakes Channel. Donkey visits during happy hour. Highly recommend a stay.

Disappointed

Let’s start with verbal directions. She gave us wrong route numbers, insisting they were correct. It took us approximately 2 hours to find our destination. Later that night we found written directions on her refrigerator that were correct, but obviously she did not read them to us. She was clearly upset that it took us so long to arrive. The next day we had problems with the power. She told us we were using too much power and make sure we turned off everything when left. The solar company representative came out and told us we weren’t doing anything wrong and it ended up being a bad breaker they replaced. There is so much more to this story. If you want to know more please contact me. Wednesday we went to turn on the ac in our bedroom and it didn’t work. We didn’t get a new one until the day before we left. That is 7 days without an ac. The sheets in both rooms were stained. Our bedspread was dirty looking. The wash cloths were obviously very old. I took pictures of the stains on the sheets.

Nice property.

The property met our expectations - quiet, peaceful, private. The owner was very nice and helpful. The property is a little difficult to find and a 4x4 with good ground clearance is recommended the long unpaved driveway.

We had a great stay at Caribe Breeze. The property is beautiful, well maintained, well stocked with necessities, and the constant breeze and pool were an oasis to return to after long days of sun and fun on the beach. Kris was warm, welcoming, and always very responsive. Thank you Kris!

A week in St. John

The property was just as described and fit us perfectly. My parents stayed in the queen unit and worked great with us in the main house. The views and swing on the deck are AMAZING. Watched a sunrise every morning during my workout. The pool was used every day after a morning at the beaches. Just FYI, this is St. John and a very remote area you will have quirky things happen along with things out of your control EX. a cement truck on the road up to the home and random power outages. This is nothing that the owner can control you are on vacation in a beautiful place.....just go with it!!! You WILL need a vehicle that is either AWD or 4WD with good ground clearance especially for the first curve, take it slow swing wide and you'll b e fine!! The view from the top is worth it! Kris was a great host and was always a text away. We would come back in a heartbeat!!

Doesn't get much better than this!

Our family of 5 enjoyed this stay at every turn. Access to Salt Pond Beach was next door. Miss Lucy's is next door. The neighbors are close but never felt our privacy impeded on. Stay in, go out, it really makes it a tough choice. This is just a spectacular place to call home for a vacation. 6 stars out of 5!

We had 10 wonderful days at Caribe Breeze. If you are looking to get away this is the place. My husband and I enjoyed the quiet and seclusion. Yes, its a long way out to this end of the island but its worth it. We could watch the sunrise from our deck and the sunset from the driveway. We will be back!

The Girl’s Turn 60 Trip

Six ladies went to St. John to celebrate our 60th (four turned 60th this year). We stayed at Caribe Breeze for six nights and it was fabulous. Kris and Lindsey were awesome hosts and answered all our questions. The views were stunning, sunrise from the deck and sunset from the hill just up the road. We snorkeled at several beaches, toured the island, went to Miss Lucy’s on Thursday for open mic night (thank you, Kris and Lindsey). We all enjoyed a trip to Lime Out for some tacos and drinks we used Fly Away Charter, Martha was our captain and she was wonderful. Went to Skinny Legs and Salty Mongoose. We did a fish charter with Just Fish and they were great. We had massages at our villa from Paradise Massage Christine and Nancy were awesome and I HIGHLY recommend them, they were also the best prices we found for massages. The only regrets we have is that due to COVID we could not do a day trip to the Soggy Dollar Bar and we should have stayed longer six days on St. John was not enough!!!

Absolutely Perfect!!

We came as 2 couples and the house was absolutely perfect! We each had our own private sleeping quarters, but also fabulous space to all hang out together. We spent our mornings exploring the islands, but afternoons were spent in the pool and evenings playing games on the beautifully breezy back deck overlooking John’s Folly. The house was clean and entirely free of insects, which is the first we’ve experienced in our many visits to St John. The kitchen and baths are well appointed. Kris and Lindsey were the perfect hosts, checking in regularly and going out of their way to be sure our stay was, again, absolutely perfect! We can’t recommend highly enough, we will be back (soon, we hope!!!).

Highly recommend

Our family of 5 (myself, my wife, our two 16 year olds and our 11 year old) had a wonderful vacation on St. John Island staying at Caribe Breeze. The set up of the rental property worked so well for us. We had so much fun in the pool and loved our meals on the deck overlooking Coral Bay. The house is very well cared for and clean and worked great for us. The view is spectacular! The location is great with a short drive to Great Salt Pond Bay which is a beautiful beach and has access to the Ram's Head hike. Kris, the owner, was fantastic, e.g. always responsive to questions before our vacation and available if any thing came up during our stay. We look forward to a return visit to Caribe Breeze!

40th Birthday Getaway

My husband and I traveled to this lovely property with our friends, to celebrate my husbands 40th birthday. We were there for the week of March 19-26. The property is very nice, with views for days, and was great for 2 couples. We really liked how separated the bedrooms were, which allowed for privacy. The outdoor showers were amazing, although sometimes chilly with the winds, but after a long day of sun, sand and sea it felt fantastic. Speaking of winds, even though the main living area is not air conditioned, you wouldn't know it because you just open the doors and let the winds keep you cool - they were constant, even heavy at times. The house is equipped with everything you will need for your stay. Having beach chairs, coolers and beach towels available was certainly a nice feature. Kris and Lindsey are excellent hosts and did a great job communicating with us prior to check in and during our stay. At our request Kris even picked up a few provisions for us to have at the house when we arrived, for a small fee, but it was nice having things there and not having to stop at the store after a long day of travel. While almost everything was perfect for us during our stay, there were a couple small negatives. Location was one, however, we did know when we booked it that it would be more of a drive than we have had in our past stays on the island, but I don't think we realized just how far. It is about a 40-45 minute drive to Cruz Bay. Calabash Market was a short 5-10 minute drive which was nice, to pick up odds and ends as we needed them, although their selection isn't huge. The North Shore beaches are also about a 25-30 minute drive. As others have written in their reviews, the road to get to the house is rough! While you could make it in a car, a jeep is highly recommended. Also, the house feels private when you are hanging out by the pool, but you are in fact very close to other homes and you can hear them and they can hear you. Sound very much carries in the valley in which the home is located, so even if talking and playing music at a normal volume on the back porch, or even inside with the doors open, it will carry to other homes, some of which are locals that have to get up for work during the week. We would certainly recommend this home as your next vacation rental. The set up is fantastic and the views just can't be beat. Secluded Get Away

This place is at end of the island with great beaches close by. Nearby Rams Head hike is fantastIc. Coral Bay is 10minutes away. The homes sea views are fantastic as well.

If I could give 10 stars instead of 5 I would! Great location. Easy check in and out. Stunning views. Super clean. Everything we needed was there on hand. Top quality linens, furniture, internet and tv. Kristen made great local recommendations. We hated to leave!!

You will need a Jeep to reach the property. Truer words were never spoken. Having said that, once you make it to the villa, it is wonderful. The views and breeze are amazing. The separate bedrooms are very private, and a great feature of the property. The salt water pool was spectacular after a day of exploring and beach fun.
