Beautiful Cottage

This place was the best!!! It was perfect for our family and the ease of access to the beach was a HUGE bonus! The house was clean and well decorated! The selection of books and DVDs were great too. We loved sitting on the deck and the deck off the master. There were also plenty of chairs for everyone in our family to borrow for the beach along with sand toys and pool toys! We will definitely stay here again!!

Sunrise Cottage in Kitty Hawk N.C.

Everything about this cottage is first rate . The pool and hot tub only added to the satisfaction of the property. The view from the balconies every morning and evening were amazing. The house itself was well decorated to enhance the beach experience. We all had a great time again this year.

Great Second Stay!

This was our second stat at Sonrise, and it was just as amazing as the first! The view can’t be beat! The home was perfect for our family of 4 and the kitchen was well stocked. The pool was great after a morning spent on the beach. The decking has been redone since our first stay, and we loved eating lunch and dinner with an ocean view…much better than you can find at most restaurants! My wife has been vacationing at the outer banks since the 1980s, and she said this home reminds her of those simpler trips with her family, and we are now making those same memories with our girls. We 100% recommend Sonrise!

Great Beach Week!

The location was perfect! We could walk right over to the beach, and not worry about the 4 lane highway. The home was more than enough room for our family. There were 4 adults and 2 children for reference. The pool was awesome for the afternoons! We did less mini golf this year because the kids wanted to swim instead. Huge win!!

Great week at Sonrise !

We were very pleased with everything at the house .The house was perfect for our needs. Pool and hot tub added to a great week at the beach. Location was excellent and hearing the waves from the ocean crash in the evenings from the balconies was an experience. All in all we had a wonderful time ! Looking forward to next time !

Perfect Family Vacation 2023

Where do I start? We couldn’t have asked for a better vacation. Everything was great. Susan was a pleasure to communicate with, making sure we had a memorable stay. Her house is in the perfect location convenient for everything, the beach, shopping and food. We LOVED the pool. “Sonrise” was stocked with everything we could have needed from the kitchen to, books, games and pool/beach gear.

I brought my mom who is 73 here for her fist visit to the OBX. We had the best time! The view was beautiful. The place was spotless clean. The pool was amazing!! Everything was exactly as we needed it to be for a flawless vacation!! Definitely plan on staying here again!

The “Sonrise” beach house was in a great location. The beach directly across the street was a plus for us. The host was extremely helpful when an issue arose and stayed in contact with me. She wanted to make sure we were satisfied with our stay. The pool was nice and lots of beach chairs and pool toys available to use.

On arrival property was clean and in good condition. Talking to Susan informed us of great restaurants which we throughly enjoyed. Perfect family vacation

My family and I had an amazing OBX vacation at this home. Susan was super easy to work with and so friendly. The property location was exactly what we were looking for. Close to the beach and local stores just down the road. The children enjoyed time on the beach and then hours of fun in the pool. We were thrilled with how easy check in/out was. Would definitely recommend this property!!

Lovely place to relax

This was our second year staying here. For our family it is the perfect size and location. We like a quiet low key beach stay and this delivers. Easy check in and out. If there is ever a issue Susan replies promptly. We will be returning next year!

A Positive Stay!

The cottage was clean and cozy. Listing is accurate regarding 500 feet from beach. Easy access for many walks on the beach and catching the sunrise! We even got a little kayaking in which was easy to do being so close to the beach. The kitchen was fully stocked. Many restaurants/bars within walking distance. Pool and jacuzzi were enjoyable. 5 minutes to Walmart to get groceries. 20 minutes to Wright Brothers Memorial and Jockeys Ridge which were both excellent! 30 minutes to Roanoke and fresh fish at ONeals! An hour to Hatteras Island. We will be back to OBX and staying here!

Wonderful house and location!

This was our first time using VRBO. It was a great experience! The home owner responded quickly to my questions. The house was as advertised and absolutely lovely! The pool was an positive asset. A walk across the street and we were on the beach.

Making family memories❤️

This cottage was perfect for our family vacation. We took our daughter, son-in-law and 2 granddaughters. Loved the beach decor. My granddaughter even counted items on the wall! (95). Location was convenient for the beach. Spent many hours in the lovely pool. Having several decks gave us options to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. Cottage was well supplied with anything we needed. Owner even offered suggestions for restaurants. We would love to return someday.

Perfect beach vacation

This was the perfect beach house for our family. Where do I start? Susan the owner was amazing responding to questions before we went and after we got there. For us wanting a quieter beach vacation but yet close to restaurants etc this had both. The house has the perfect view from the many decks which was key also. The decks had amazing furniture that just were inviting and comfortable with that cup of coffee or cocktail. The inside was the perfect beach atmosphere we were looking for also. You can tell this place is loved. It has everything you need. The beds and pillows were all comfortable along with the furniture in the living area. Then to top it off there is a pool and hot tub. The pool was perfect for our little granddaughter and the hot tub was nice for my husband. I hope I haven’t forgotten anything. Thank you so much Susan for helping us making amazing memories. We are definitely returning next year!

Wonderful house for a wonderful week.

I had a week getaway with my mom and sister and we had a great time. The house was the perfect size for us. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub and the quick walk across the road to the beach. The house was clean and comfy. Susan kept in touch and made sure we got down there safe. We had one problem with a toilet and she had someone there to fix it while we were at the beach and we were never inconvenienced. The location is great as it is not as busy this far up the beach. We loved the house and will definitely stay here again.

My husband Tom and I live just across the Virginia state line in Chesapeake. He is a minister and I am a retired special education teacher in Chesapeake Public Schools. I have dreamed of owning beach property throughout my entire life. Recently we had the opportunity to make this dream come true with the purchase of Sonrise (formerly called Marjo). We have four children-three sons and a daughter. Our oldest son is married to a wonderful young lady and they have blessed us with a grandson. Our daughter is a minister in Virginia Beach. She just got married this fall. Our younger sons live with us and continue to keep us busy. We love to spend time together at the beach and are looking forward to making many special memories at Sonrise.

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

When we began our search for beach property with our real estate agent she put together a list of about 17 properties for us to view. Sonrise was the very first cottage we saw. We both really liked it, but wanted to view other properties as well. Although it wasn't the fanciest cottage we saw, Sonrise had a compelling charm that kept calling us to return. We love the layout of the cottage with so much of the living area overlooking the ocean. We love having a private pool and a hot tub to relax in after a long day. The master bedroom has a king bed and a private balcony overlooking the ocean. Who could ask for anything more? We hope that you will enjoy our home as much as we do.

“Sonrise” is located near shopping, restaurants and grocery stores. This oceanside cottage is extremely convenient for a beach vacation. Beach access is only 200 ft. away. An outdoor shower is available to help you rinse off before going back into the cottage after a visit to the beach. A private pool gives you the ability to swim not only during the day, but also at night, and for those times when the ocean is just too rough to safely swim. There is nothing more relaxing than a little time in the hot tub at the end of a long day. The cottage is beautifully decorated and will allow you to peacefully relax and enjoy your time in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
