THIS IS NOT A NEW RENTAL, JUST NEW OWNERS. Your Highlands adventure begins at this 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom house situated at the end of the road, perched on a hill. This lovely property offers a generous amount of space for guests to relax and unwind. The vaulted ceiling windows in the great room give it a bright and airy feeling. Rain or shine, every day at Creekview Cabin is a memorable day. It is situated at an elevation of 4,100 feet with summer temperatures typically 15 - 20 degrees cooler than Atlanta and other points south. NOTE - we made some changes to the furnishings and added an outdoor fireplace table on the covered deck. The last six pictures show the changes.
The house is in a great location, whatever your interest. It is located a short distance off of Hwy 64 but far enough on the back side of a ridge that blocks practically any traffic noise making for a quiet setting. It is 5 miles to main street Highlands and 6 miles to Cashiers crossroads. Highlands is a fantastic place to vacation, with miles of hiking trails, waterfalls, creeks and rivers, lakes, many golf courses, and interesting shops and superb restaurants in town. Highlands tends to get more attention but don't forget about the Cashiers and Sapphire Valley. It is beautiful too, with great restaurants and and shops. Some of the best hikes are down that way.
Creekview Cabin will be one of the most relaxing places you have ever visited. There is something about the house, the surroundings, and the calming atmosphere that just washes away the tensions of the city. There is a screened covered porch on the side of the house that looks out into the trees above a little ravine with a creek flowing through it. It is so peaceful and relaxing to "sit a spell", especially during the summer when the temperatures rarely get above 80 degrees. The porch seems to be situated just right to catch the breezes. You may not want to leave the house because sitting, reading, and sipping a drink while looking out into the trees and hearing the trickle of the creek is heavenly. When you need to get up and move, move to the open deck on the front of the house where there is a dining table to enjoy the dinner you cooked on the Weber gas grill and catch the sunset when the leaves are off the trees.
The house's three bedrooms sleep 6 comfortably, with room for another two on a sleeper sofa in the loft. The sleeper sofa is okay for kids but the comfort level for the house is really 6 adults. The main level master bedroom has a queen size bed and a 43" flat screen smart HDTV and DVD player. The spacious bathroom has a dual vanity and shower. The second main level bedroom has a queen size bed and a 43" flat screen smart HDTV and DVD player. Across the hallway is a full size bathroom with a tub/shower. Upstairs is another master bedroom with a king size bed and a 43" flat screen smart HDTV and DVD player. The bathroom has a large single vanity and shower. As mentioned, the TV's are all smart TV's so bring your login information to access your streaming services although we do provide cable service that includes HBO, Showtime, and Cinemax.
The cozy great room is open to the kitchen and dining nook with a table for six. Two sliding doors lead out to the front deck. There is plenty of seating with a reading nook under the stairs. It has a stacked stone, wood burning fireplace with gas starter. The TV is a 55" flat screen smart HDTV with DVD player and a Sony sound system.
If you want to save money by cooking your own meals or warming up some of the excellent prepared meals from several places in town you'll find a fully equipped kitchen with all the pots, pans and utensils you might need. There is a toaster, blender, hand mixer, coffee grinder, and both a drip and Keurig coffee maker. Bring your favorite beans or Keurig cups and wake up to fresh brewed coffee to sip out on the front deck or screened covered porch. The large kitchen island has seating for four.
Is it impossible for you to completely get away? If so, in the loft is a nice, very functional office with a monitor and a laser printer/copier for guest use. High speed cable modem and Wi-Fi are also included. Sometimes staying connected can mean the difference between a hurried weekend or a relaxing week away and it could mean the difference between staying a week or a month.
Creekview Cabin is dog friendly. Pets must be approved so please let us know some information about your dog when booking. Four footed family members need to be as nice as their people to keep the place nice for those who will follow. The Highlands area is very dog friendly and you will see lots of them in town including sitting with their people at some of the restaurants with outside dining areas. Sorry, but we do not accept cats.
PLEASE NOTE: We have nearby neighbors in the development. Please respect their right to a peaceful mountain environment by keeping your dog on a leash. Do not leave the house and leave them out on the porch. Your dog will need to be put in a crate inside the house if you leave without them. Most dog owners are naturally very respectful of others but we've had some situations with dogs running loose or barking all day which resulted in complaints from neighbors. You and your furry friend will have a wonderful time at Creekview Cabin. Please help us keep that option open for others in the future.
There is an outside camera mounted high on the house overlooking the driveway. Parking is available for two vehicles.
