Casa Viga Grande (Das Haus mit den massiven Balken) befindet sich in einem historisch authentischen und ruhigen Viertel oberhalb der Canyon Road - dem prestigeträchtigen Kunst- und Galeriebezirk von Santa Fe. Gewundene, enge Gassen erinnern an das alte Europa.

Dieses klimatisierte, 16 m² große Casa im Südweststil bietet alle Annehmlichkeiten und den Charme des zeitgenössischen Santa Fe. Die Geräumigkeit der hohen, massiven Viga-Decken bildet einen Kontrapunkt zum Detailreichtum des Dekors. Überall treffen feine Originalkunst und durchdacht platzierte Artefakte auf das Auge.

Ein einzigartiger Aspekt von Viga Grande ist das Layout. Zwei völlig getrennte und geräumige Schlafzimmersuiten haben jeweils ein eigenes Bad mit Steinfliesen. Daher finden zwei Paare die Äquivalenz zwischen Suiten attraktiv. Während eine Suite intern geräumiger ist; Das andere öffnet sich auf eine eigene Terrasse.

Die gut ausgestattete Küche verfügt über moderne Geräte. Doppeltüren verbinden den Essbereich mit einer zweiten sehr privaten Terrasse und einem geschlossenen Garten.

Die beiden Badezimmer sind wunderschön und modern, mit hochwertigen Fliesen und Armaturen. Das Master-Bad verfügt über zwei Waschbecken, eine separate Dusche mit zwei Köpfen und eine große Badewanne im Whirlpool-Stil.

Beim Betreten der Unterkunft begrüßt Sie eine Museumsstraße mit Backsteinen, die sich praktisch hinter einem handgeschmiedeten Eisentor verbirgt. Es gibt Parkplätze für zwei bis drei Fahrzeuge.

Sobald Sie im berühmten Canyon Road Gallery-Viertel von Santa Fe angekommen sind, beginnt die 3-minütige Fahrt (oder 15-minütige Wanderung) nach Viga Grande, indem Sie dem historisch gefühlvollen und nahrhaften Wasserweg Acequia Madre folgen (von den Einheimischen liebevoll als "The Mother Ditch" bezeichnet) Dann geht es bergauf durch einige der reizvollsten Wohngegenden von Santa Fe.

quiet get away

I found the property manager very helpful, He was very responsive and accommodating to our needs. Great communication.The home itself was very charming, and well equipped. However, for relaxing around the fire and tv, a larger couch would have been more comfortable. Maybe one full couch and then a love seat. In addition, I appreciate the need to be careful with towels and water usage, but there was only one towel per person. Not ideal for someone with long hair. On a positive note, the beds were very comfortable!I found the location to be a bit closed in. It is an easy walk down the hill to town, but t is located at the end of a very narrow, tight street, tucked way in and has no views at all. My fault as I did not google earth it in advance.I would probably not stay here again, but only due to its location at the end of the street. It made me feel claustrophobic.Thank you.

Favorite Santa Fe home away from home

We have been renting this property each year for the past ten years. Richard is a marvelous property manager and we love the house and location. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to walk to Canyon Road and the Plaza. It's perfect.

Lovely Visit

Clean, Quiet, beautifully decorated and well appointed. We have been visiting Santa Fe for several years so we are very familiar with the weather and this year was a bit of an exception, however the water ruts on Camino sin Nombre were so severe we could barely get through with our car which is not a four-wheel drive and the ankle-deep mud pool in front of the driveway gate was a show stopper. You cannot leave the property on foot without boots. We plan to return to Santa Fe next year but perhaps a different location.

Secluded beautiful quiet casita

Stayed here with my mother for a long weekend. Everything was lovely: the kitchen was well appointed, rooms were clean with beautiful local art, and the garden was just starting to bloom. The place had everything we needed and was delightfully quiet in the evenings. Close to everything we wanted to do. Great communication from the hosts! We would 100% stay here again the next time we come to Santa Fe.

Our long time go-to home in Santa Fe

This Beautiful secluded home in the quaint historic east side on a hill above Canyon Road, it has lovely furnishings, accessories, and original art. We and our friends have stayed here several times. Overall, the place is clean, with the exception of finding lots of dead bugs around the exterior doors and window sills, which we had to remove. The home was obviously cleaned, but probably not recently checked before our arrival. Each time that we have stayed in this home, we wanted to use the outdoor gas fire pit on the beautiful private patio, but have been disappointed every time that it was not working. We trust that the owner will attend to our suggestions, as we always look forward to making Casa Viga Grande our place to stay on our next trip to Santa Fe.

Thank you for a lovely stay!

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Casa Viga after the VRBO we originally booked had an issue that left it inhabitable. After all the stress, it was great to stay in a comfortable and worry free environment. Location is close to all that Santa Fe has to offer and we spent a few cozy nights in front of the fireplace. Richard went the extra mile and was able to move up our check in time due to our situation. Would definitely stay here again in warmer weather to enjoy the fire pit and outdoor areas. Thank you - it was a great place to ring in the new year!

Sisters week long stay

The house was very comfortable to settle into. We could spread out or be together. Easy to use tv, kitchen appliances, showers. Well equipped. Great location, we did not enjoy the spacious outdoor settings as we went to several places in the area where we checked out the lovely New Mexico landscape, like Jemez Springs and Ghost Ranch.

Charming home, just blocks from Canyon Road

Our group of two couples truly enjoyed our stay at this historic property, situated between Canyon Road and Museum Hill. The home was beautifully decorated, updated and well equipped with things like a six burner Wolf range, beautiful riginal artwork and lighting. We enjoyed the small seating area outside, with BBQ, firepit, and the like. We highly recommend it.

Lovely and peaceful house

Beautiful house that's perfect for two couples. House has everything you need and we especially appreciated the outside sitting areas. Close to the Canyon Rd. galleries, but some steep hills on the walk, so we didn't walk as much as planned with the heat of August. Would definitely recommend highly to others!

An idyllic stay at Casa Contemporary

Overall very good, with excellent communication with the property manager. The only areas that need improvement are (1) the laundry area has a persistent moldy smell, also the gaskets need to be replaced on the washer and dryer. (2) brighter light in the living and dining room would make playing games much easier, and it is needed above the master bathroom sink as well.

Amazing house; make sure you have 4 wheel drive or snow chains

Everything about this property was incredible! However, it snowed 3 inches while we were there and the temperature did not rise above freezing until 36 hours later, so we were stuck in the house because the hill to get to the main road was completely iced over and we did not have chains or 4 wheel drive. I had to walk half a mile to uber to Autozone to get snow chains just so we could leave the property. So like i said, amazing property, just be prepared if it snows and doesn't melt.

Cozy, beautiful Santa Fe home

We really enjoyed our experience here. It is near Canyon Road, off of the beaten path in an adorable neighborhood which we loved. The decor was gorgeous, the kitchen well-appointed with top-notch appliances. The traditional fireplace was a highlight for us, kept the house warm and inviting. The primary suite has 2 closets, and the en-suite bathroom is large with double sinks. The second bedroom was much smaller with a single closet and small adjoining bathroom with a shower. The king bed, instead of being in the primary suite, was in the small second bedroom. The large primary suite had a queen sized bed. The bigger bed would fit better in the bigger room and would have been preferable sleeping for 2 people. Overall, fantastic house and we would love to book it again in the future!

Amazing Santa Fe house

Perfect location, plenty of room to work from the big table, relax in the family room, and comfy beds for a good night's sleep. We walked everywhere-for coffee at Downtown Subscription, shopping on Canyon Road, and restaurants on the Plaza. We will return! This is our favorite place to stay in Santa Fe!
