I rented this condo for 2 months. The condo size is good, location ok but no views as this condo
I rented this condo for 2 months. The condo size is good, location ok but no views as this condo faces the front of a hotel. The host responded to emails quickly. The check in went smoothly. The problems started after day one. The bed is very hard - like a rock so I purchased a topper from Tesco but that did not help. I contacted the host about the mattress and the host responded saying that good mattresses are expensive and they do not provide those in rentals as they are in it for profit. After my further complaints, the host sent two comforters to use as toppers. This helped a bit but back pains continued. Then the refrigerator freezer turned completely full of ice. The tech came, pressed a button in the freezer and told me to drain the pan as it becomes full. There was water all over the floor and when I asked for it to be cleaned, I was told that there will be a 500thb charge. I ended up cleaning it up. The problem with the freezer continued every other day and the host refused to fix or replace the refrigerator. This became my nightmare as after losing lot of food from the freezer, the problem continued. I had paid 1000thb for Internet wifi for my entire stay and on day 12, the Internet stopped working. The condo office lady was nice (not affiliated with host) and worked to get me a 500thb refund. The host charged 1600 THB for water for two months and 9 THB per unit of electricity, both of which are more than twice the rate, as I found out. The bathroom is very small with very little water pressure. The host's repair guy told me that it can not be fixed due to concrete in the pipes. After one month of cleaning the water and the fridge, no wifi and continued back pain (ended up getting many massages and finally therapeutic treatments)I decided that enough is enough and informed the host that I will be leaving and checking out in one week. I checked out after five weeks. The host's rep told me that she will talk to the host to see if any refund can be given on rent or water. I was told that host refused to give any refund even on the fixed water charge for two months. I can understand no refund on the rent. Overall, this was not a good experience. I have rented condos in the city before and had very good experiences. As none of the other condos were available during my stay period, I chose this one based on quick responses from the host and photos. I will not be using this host or group in the future as the idea is to relax and not mop and clean...
