Very clean cabin and looks just as advertised! Loved the creek access- you have your own little section of creek. Also appreciated all the little extras the host had (plenty of towels, toilet paper, trash bags, a first aid kit, etc.) They have every little thing you can think of so you just need your clothes & toiletries.

Perfect getaway

My husband and I stayed at David & Kate's place (Sleepycreekcabin) last weekend. We had the most amazing time. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The creek is 20 feet from the cabin, the bonfire outside and the woodstove inside was amazing, the woodstove kept the entire cabin nice and cozy. Every switch is labeled so you know exactly which one to use, every instruction was very detailed and so easy, we will definitely be coming back. Everything was perfect.

Heaven - nothing ‘almost’ about it!

This cabin was wonderful, as was communication with Kate, the property owner. From the entry into the small community to the cabin itself, everything about our stay was quaint, soothing and restorative. From the comfy Adirondacks on the porch that made appreciating the calming sounds of Sleepy Creek and it’s surrounding land a delightful way to pass many, many hours - to the equally comfortable sofa, chairs, table and bed inside — it was easy to imagine the artful yet simple decor being lovingly handpicked by the owners over years of time. Each piece of art and furniture seemed to have been selected very carefully and all came together to make our stay feel like we were indeed sharing very special space. We can’t wait to return again (and again, and again!).

My happy place

I love this little cabin. It has become my favorite place to retreat to when I need to decompress. It is always clean, has plentiful natural light, and the only ambient sounds are the breeze, the wildlife and the water. Heaven. Plus in 20 minutes I can be in downtown Berkeley Springs for coffee, window shopping, spa treatments, and people watching. It is the perfect balance for a relaxing and rejuvenating weekend. My only warning - don’t go into Give Purrs A Chance when your are in post-Berkeley Springs bliss unless you want to go home with another kitten.

Decompression Heaven

We absolutely loved our stay at the cabin! It was peaceful and off the beaten path, which is what we were looking for. We spent most of our trip relaxing at the cabin, with the tranquil sound of the creek as the soundtrack. We took groceries with us, and cooked most of our meals there. Berkeley Springs is about a ten - fifteen minute drive from the cabin, and there are some cute shops and great restaurants, but it's not a big tourist trap, which we appreciated. We will definitely come back!

Beautiful, quiet escape

Other than the thunderstorm we had one night it was really a quiet and peaceful place. You could hear the sound of the stream at any time when you were outside. The accommodations were comfortable and will equipped. If you’re looking to get away from hustle and bustle, this is a great option.

Perfect Getaway

The cabin was exactly what we were looking for - a peaceful getaway where we could unplug and enjoy nature but close enough to town and activities that our seven year old didn't get stir crazy. We loved just relaxing on the porch and listening to Sleepy Creek, making s'mores in the fire pit at night, splashing in the creek during the day and our daughter even caught a few fish. While there are some neighbors nearby, there are none to be seen from the place and we really felt as if it was all ours. Kate was a wonderful host - communicating with us all the usual tidbits and a heads up that the creek was high when we first arrived due to recent storms. She even went above and beyond and trimmed branches hanging over the driveway since I mentioned we may be bringing bikes on our roof rack. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay, we will be back!

A quiet slice of heaven

We fell in love with this property the moment we viewed it online. The description accuracy is on point. The cabin is nestled at the bottom of a hill in a cul-de-sac, surrounded by trees, and a beautiful little creek. We absolutely loved the seclusion and the privacy. Every morning we sipped coffee on the deck, listened to a plethora of birds sing and watched the babbling Creek go by. The Water table was very low so the creek was just barely at a trickle, it was still beautiful to watch. The amenities in the house covered all of our needs. The Upstairs air conditioning was a little tricky, and we decided to move downstairs where it was a bit cooler but both beds were extremely comfortable. Even though we visited in the heat of the Summer, downstairs was quite cool, and we certainly utilize the extra blankets made available. Internet is a bit slow but not a complete bust. Our goal was to detach from our busy work life and this gave us ample chance to do so. We visited Berkeley Springs along with two local breweries. You are within 15 to 20 minute drive to a store for amenities. The cabin furnishings were beautiful, and everything was tastefully decorated. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at sleepy creek. Five days just wasn’t enough.

Mini family retreat

We will return. My biggest consideration (besides being riverfront) for a stay is the ability for my aging father to move around. He was happy as can be with the first floor bedroom near the bathroom and hanging on the porch watch his children and grandchild play on the ground and on the river.

Hello! We are David and Kate. We live close by in Frederick, MD along with most of our adult children and grandchildren. We are nature lovers and outdoor adventurers and would love to share our dream cabin with you.

Sleepy Creek Cabin is a dream come true for us. Something about the mixture of arts, wellness, and natural beauty of Berkeley Springs kept us returning to this historic town. We finally decided we had to have a place of our own. When we first arrived at the cabin, saw the view of the water right from the deck, the privacy of the woods, and the beauty of the vaulted ceilings within, we knew this place was 'the one'. We lovingly renovated the cabin to what we refer to as 'Rustic Luxury'. No where on earth have we felt the peace as at Sleepy Creek Cabin and we hope to pass that on and let others experience the unique serenity this special place has to offer.

Complete privacy is what you will experience. Sitting on the deck facing the creek you will not see another house or cabin. If you need a break from life in the fast lane, this is it. We love the fact that within 10-15 minutes we can be in town to eat at fine restaurants, tour art galleries, antique shops, or get a massage. Also close by are local parks to boat, fish, hike, run, bike, or ride horses. It truly is the best of all worlds.
