Fantastic vacation with gorgeous views

Our family of 20 thoroughly enjoyed our Thanksgiving vacation at this beautiful home. There was ample place for our 5 families to sleep, and lots of indoor and outdoor hang out spaces so we could gather and spread out as needed. The host even set up a long table for us for our Thanksgiving meal. Each bedroom was spacious enough and there are lots of daybeds and other options to allow comfortable sleeping spots for all in our group. The kitchen was large and well stocked with most things we needed for cooking lots of meals. There is also a separate smaller but full kitchen in the basement studio. The pool was fantastic. Our kids swam every day, often twice a day, and the adults enjoyed the jacuzzi in the evenings. The views truly can’t be beat. We watched many stunning sun rises and sets every day. The location feels very private but is literally minutes from the highway so easy to get where ever you want to go. The host was very friendly and communicative, responding to all our questions typically within an hour. He greeted us upon arrival to show us around and check in was very easy. We will definitely stay here again if we ever come back to San Diego as a large group. Only thing to note- there is an additional charge for heating the pool and hot tub, so factor that into your finances.

The house was very spacious and clean. Lots of rooms and host provided all the essentials. Communication was very easy and fast with the host as well. Also house was not far from many of the attractions. Check in/out was very easy.

Terrific family vacation spot

Service was fantastic and amenable to requests for modifications such as spa hours and including a Keurig coffee pot. Home had plenty of room for all of us, or for groups. There were more stairs than we realized (3 of us over 75 years), but we managed. Small negatives: one of the 9 bedrooms was noisy with the heat coming on and off all night and some of the inside doors didn’t close properly.

Great group house with a beautiful vista

This VRBO was perfect for our group of 19 people getting together for a long weekend in San Diego. Ample space, bedrooms, and bathrooms for everyone. Great common areas and outdoor patios to congregate. Pool and hot tub overlooking beautiful mountain vistas. And excellent communication from Stas - very fast replies to any inquiries. Highly recommend.

Sea World Trip

We stayed in this Beautiful Home for 3nights. The home is just as described on line. There were 6 adults 8 children ages 1yr through 17yrs old. So much room in this home for everyone.They all really enjoyed the pool the most. It’s a Beautiful Home with Great views, especially at night sitting out in patio overlooking the city. My favorite part was the Big Beautiful Kitchen, Just like to say Thank You for sharing your Lovely Home with us and Thank You Aaron for your help when we arrived.

San Diego Family Reunion

We had 10 adults and 7 children 6 and under. The layout of the house was great. There was plenty of rooms for everyone. It has 2 apartments that we also used. It also had a big room that we used as a family. The pool was a nice addition but we had to pay $200 extra a night to heat it along with hot tub. That was on top of the rental per night. The hot tub was only heated 4 hours a day. The first day the hot tub was cold. I felt like the house was dated and not worth what we paid a night. The pictures showed it more plush with the house and surrounding area. . Stas was very prompt in answering questions for us before we came and met us at the house when we arrived. There were also a few pieces of art we took down because the women were naked or had a suggestive inuendos. I missed that when scrolling through the pictures on line.

Beautiful Views from Mt. Helix

First of all, let me say that Stas is a 5-star host ... very responsive, supportive and helpful. Thank you, Stas! This was a last minute booking for us, as we needed to congregate as a family in the San Diego area over the Thanksgiving holiday on short notice. Although only a maximum of 9 people would be staying overnight at the property, we were looking for a place that could accommodate 17 of us for Thanksgiving dinner. Stas's property fit the bill, and he made sure there were enough tables and chairs for us to comfortably seat everyone together ... it was a very special gathering for us. The house is spacious with a large great room / dining room that is a good place to gather. The kitchen is also large, with plenty of counter space to prepare a large meal and socialize at the same time. All of the appliances worked just fine, and there were ample pots, pans, etc. There are 7 bedrooms, and all either have en-suite, shared or nearby common bathrooms ... so very convenient. We had a maximum of 9 people staying the night during our visit, and only used 6 of the 7 bedrooms. While the great room and kitchen are large, this is not an "open concept" house by any means; it is built in a European villa style with many steps, segregated spaces, patios and doors. There are multiple doors leading to the outside, and lots of individual spaces to isolate if you want to. It takes a while for guests to be able to find their way around the multiple interior and exterior spaces ... especially with an after-dark arrival. Some of the fixtures, decor and certain other areas in the house could use an upgrade or a little TLC , but everything worked just fine and was very comfortable. The heated pool and jacuzzi were definitely a hit, with clear elevated views all the way to the bay. The nighttime views were spectacular. While we were there, we experienced some daily construction noise from a house being built just below the property ... but not too bad. Also, there's a big dog next door that barks occasionally ... but again, not too bad. Once again, many thanks and high accolades to Stas for being such a terrific host!

Tons of room, big pool, great views!

We had a wonderful time over Labor Day weekend! The pool was fabulous, the kitchen well stocked in terms of pots/dishes/utensil/glasses/coffee filters, tons of beds and rooms for all of us, multiple large TVs, easy food shopping nearby, tons of sunshine and wide open views. (Be sure to bring your own pantry basics like salt/pepper/oil/vinegar/foil, plus baking sheets and cooling racks if you want to make cookies, which we always do.) We loved it!

Great view, clean property. You can tell that the owner had pride in his property as it was clean and well-maintained. Good communication and everything was as described. Great value, excellent location close to downtown SD

If you want to go to San Diego with a large group, this is a great option. Common areas were large and pool was great. Way better value than renting on the coast. One thing to note is the property manager comes between 6am and 9am each morning to check the pool. The house comes with bath towels but bring your own pool towels. Laundry onsite if you want to just use the bath towels.

We celebrated my husband's 65th birthday with our immediate family under one roof! We ALL had an amazing time and the house was perfect for each of us. First Annual Family Vacation

Held our first annual family (mom, siblings, in laws and nephews and nieces) vacation and this home accommodated everyone. Lots of rooms and beds to accommodate 20 people easily. Was given clear instructions by the owner/host on the dos and don’ts of the property (common sense items) upon arrival and host was very attentive to our needs during our stay. He discreetly checks in the pool to make sure filter and heater are working properly. Great views of the city that became part of our family group picture. House has all the amenities you can think of. Great experience overall.

This property is beautiful! We had 17 family members ranging from a 6 month old to our elderly mother in this home with us. The home was large enough that you never felt crowded. The pool, trampoline, outdoor area gave kept our kids entertained. Stas was a great host and was very communicative. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Christmas at Mt. Helix

We had a great stay the week of Christmas! The house was spacious, well-appointed and the views were beautiful. It was a rainy week and we spent a lot of time inside… with 6 adults and 6 kids (ages 8-16), we had a ton of room to spread out while enjoying our time together. Overall the house was in nice condition, aside from the cleanliness of the floors. The property manager comes to the house every morning (even Christmas day) - important if privacy is a concern to you. We mentioned the floors to him on one of his visits and he told us to clean them, not what we expected to hear. After purchasing some cleaning supplies and a few hours of scrubbing, we were able to enjoy clean floors (and feet!) for the rest of our trip. We did contact the owner with photos, nicely explaining our frustration with having to clean when paying a premium for our stay along with a cleaning fee and asked for consideration in refunding a portion of the cleaning fee for the supplies we purchased and time spent. He agreed, although irritated and seemed mostly concerned with how we would review our stay. Bummer ;(. He did explain how he had cleaned the house himself (the cleaning fee is used at his discretion for cleaning after guests left and not for a professional cleaning prior to guest arrival - good information for future guests to be aware of). The house is very nice, however, we would probably not return based on our interaction with the owner.
