The owners of Misty Mountain, based in Atlanta, Georgia, fell in love with the beauty and tranquility of Murphy, North Carolina, while seeking a retreat from their busy lives. Drawn to the panoramic mountain views and warm hospitality of the area, they found their dream escape in the Five Forks community.

In September of 2022, after experiencing Misty Mountain firsthand during a vacation, Barrett and Roger were captivated by the town's charm and the cabin's allure. They were inspired to share this hidden gem with others and embarked on a journey to care for this stunning mountain home.

Misty Mountain offers four bedrooms, two-and-a-half baths, and an array of modern amenities, including two spacious living rooms, two decks with awe-inspiring mountain vistas, and a relaxing hot tub. With attention to detail and rustic elegance, Misty Mountain invites guests to unwind and reconnect with nature.

Accommodating up to 12 guests, Misty Mountain features three king beds, a set of twin bunk beds, and a twin daybed with trundle. Whether you're seeking a family getaway or a reunion with friends, this cozy retreat offers ample space for everyone to relax and recharge.

Guests will be greeted by a bright and inviting living, dining, and kitchen area upon arrival, perfect for gathering and creating lasting memories. The fully-stocked kitchen boasts modern appliances and utensils, while the spacious decks offer outdoor dining and breathtaking views.

Downstairs, guests will find another living room, ideal for movie nights or quiet evenings by the fire. Two guest bedrooms offer comfort and privacy, along with access to the hot tub deck, where guests can soak in the stunning mountain scenery.

Guest Access:
Guests have access to the entire home except for two locked supply closets on the main floor.

Exterior Security Cameras:
Misty Mountain is a well-secured home. The exterior security cameras are on the property to support guest safety and peace of mind. The cameras record video and sound and are motion-activated. They do not look into any interior spaces. Please read below for a thorough outline of our security features. Please note that we do not have any interior noise sensors, nor do we have interior cameras.

Misty Mountain has two exterior cameras:
Camera 1 is mounted on the north side of the home and faces the driveway.
Camera 2 is mounted on the west side (of the downstairs) southern-facing deck, looking towards the south over the mountains. This camera does not look towards the hot tub.
Guests will find internet boosters on both floors of the home. They are circular in shape and are labeled “Internet Boosters. Do not touch

Currently, our vacation rental offerings are centered in picturesque Murphy, North Carolina, with plans to expand into the Highlands area. Murphy, located just an hour from the eastern entrance of the park in Cherokee County, serves as an ideal base for exploring the wonders of the Smokies.

Getting Around:
Guests primarily rely on their vehicles for transportation during their stay. However, for those who prefer to book with a local driver, we're delighted to provide recommendations and assistance in arranging transportation directly with trusted drivers in the area. Whether you're looking for a convenient ride to explore local attractions or need transportation for special events, we're here to ensure your travel needs are met with ease and convenience.

Other Things to Note:
Quiet Hours & Exterior Lighting:
Our neighborhood is a full-time residential mountain community. Quiet hours are from 10 PM until 8 AM. Sounds travel on the mountain top. We ask that all music is taken inside (or turned way down) after 10 PM. Please use the dimmers for the exterior lights and do not leave the lights on overnight. Turning the exterior lights to the "off" mode by 10 PM is preferred. If you violate quiet hours and we receive complaints from our neighbors, we will terminate your stay early without a refund. Please do NOT leave the northern facing floodlight on overnight as it shines in our neighbor's bedroom window. If you want to leave on an exterior light, leave on the front porch light instead.

Accepting Packages:
Misty Mountain does not have a mailbox, so we cannot accept packages from USPS. If you need to have an item shipped, please ensure that it is shipped via UPS or FedEx. Please contact us to arrange special delivery for items that can only be delivered via USPS.

Reservation Length:
Kindly be aware that our listing is not available for 'Instant Book' as we carefully manage our reservation calendar. Additionally, please note that we reserve the right to decline reservations if the requested length of stay does not align with our standards for that specific time period.

Interaction with Guests:
This property is equipped with a self-check-in system, allowing you to arrive at your convenience anytime after the designated check-in time. We’re available via phone or messaging if you need anything during your stay.
