Not a Winter Rental 12/24-12/26/24 (booked 12/6/24)
2 permanent heat sources in cabin: 1 in an alcove off the LR. Other in the bathroom wall behind the bathroom door located L of the kitchen sink. Didn't see any heat sources in BR & kitchen. On 12/22 sent a request to host thru Vrbo for equip operation & cabin access info. Host replied w/locations of heat sources only. Arrived 12/24 w/outside temps @ 26 degrees. Took 4 attempts to enter cabin with keypad access code since the overhead light wasn't on & host didn't provide operation info beforehand. Used my cellphone's flashlight on the all black keypad trying to figure out workings. Walkway to cabin not shoveled. No operation info for the heat or tv was inside the cabin. Property is located steps from & level with Rte 16 significant road noise. Didn't want to spend Xmas in those conditions & messaged host thru Vrbo shortly after arrival that wouldn't be staying & the cabin wasn't a winter rental. Contacted Vrbo also. Vrbo responded they'd be in touch w/host & took their guest concerns seriously. Follow up message from Vrbo said the host wasn't notified before departure (despite 12/24 message to host in Vrbo account) & cabin was left unlocked. It should be the host's responsibility to ensure sufficient heat & operational info for their rentals. 3 refund requests were denied by host & Vrbo rep didn't reply after being made aware that the host had been notified on 12/24 of reasons for not staying for reservation.
