We booked last minute and did not thoroughly read the condo information. That being said we arrived to a windowless bunker of a condo. Again, I should have know this. We were ok with this as we planned on being at the beach/pool most of the time. As we arrived on Sunday we had an absolute fantastic first day until we tried to shower. The shower would not turn off. This repair on a Sunday was not easy to get done since no one is there working. Somehow it was repaired and all was good. After that we had a lovely week.

Please make sure that the door is locked upon arrival. Our "neighbor" was hanging out in our condo upon arrival due to the cleaning crew not locking the door. The complex was not labeled very well and a little confusing. The front desk lady seemed annoyed when I asked for directions to our condo. Tybee Island overall never disappoints but I won't stay here again.

Best way to enjoy Beachide Colony on a budget

Reviewer Comments: We love this suite at Beachside Colony and come bSince it does not have a beach view is saves us a good bit so we can enjoy doing other things while we are at the beach. We love renting bikes and trying new restaurants but most of the time decide to stay by the oceanfront pool and restaurant since it is easy to not leave this wonderful resort. The pool has a gate to the beach so once you here onsite there is really no need to leave.

It was a great place to stay. The only complaint was we had 4 people staying in a one bedroom condo and the bathroom was in the only bedroom. Other than that it was great and I would stay again.

I booked room 222B for a get away. The room was clean and just as the pictures. I arrived at night and the room was cold. I attempted to turn the heat on but it wouldn't turn on. The fan to the air unit worked but not the heat or air. I made contact with management whom responded in the rain. Management could not get the unit to work. Management placed me in a better unit that was available. I will book again.

Worst condo stay ever

When we checked in late at night, we found drops of blood on the floor in the kitchen. The sheets were dirty and there was not a spare set. The air conditioner in the master bedroom spewed black dust and mold over the bed at night. There was a musty, disgusting odor which we found out was a washer full of undrained, old water the next day.When I complained to management and asked for an extra set of sheets, the younger woman at the counter had a very bad attitude, rolling her eyes when I asked for clean pillowcases and sheets. She blamed the poor cleaning on one person, but it was clear from the caked-on black dirt in the corners and disgusting air conditioners that the place hadn't been properly cleaned in years. She wasn't apologetic or hospitable at all.The shallow pools were disgusting. There was a bubbly film on top of them and there were birds bathing in them. They did not look or smell properly chlorinated.To their credit, they did come and clean the air conditioning units the next day and fix the washer. But the poor customer service when I reported the issues combined with the clear neglect of the unit were just so bad that I would never stay here again. I wouldn't even tell my worst enemy to stay here.

Beachside Colony The Vue #222B

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Beachside Colony is the only place to stay at on Tybee period. The Pools, Marlin Monroe’s food and drinks are the best on the Island. The staff at the beachside are the best in the world and the beach access is right there. The Vue 222b is small but it is just right for a couple looking to get away. Any place you stay at the Beachside Colony is superb. I am not sure if there is a Heaven but I am sure there is a Beachside Colony. I Love It!!!

The hallway to the room was really dirty with gum stuck on the carpet. The door to the room itself was really dirty and "beat up". The couch material was dirty. The carpet in the bedroom had 3 pet stains. There was black around the tub on the floor. The only thing that was relatively clean was the kitchen. I was really grossed out and went to the desk to ask for a different room and was basically told, no rooms, non-refundable, sorry about your luck. We only had two towels for 4 people and asked for more but was asked, "Well, how many do you really need?" The pool area was just ok. There were often meals from the bar left to sit and draw flies on the tables. The beach access was great if you used the one by the pool, but the after hours one smelled terrible from all the trash bins you had to cross thru. We had a good trip to the Island itself, but scheduled everyday around staying out of the room from breakfast to bed time. I was really disappointed.

The floors were dirty and the beds were very uncomfortable. When going to a condo, you would expect more then one plate, more than half a roll of toilet paper, and hand soap,So basically it only has the bare minimum, be sure to bring ALL your own necessities. However, I would come back to this condo association and book a different room. I feel that the overall vicinity was nice, just not our room.
