Vielen Dank, dass Sie einen Teil Ihres Frühlings, Sommers oder Herbstes in der Hütte verbracht haben. Im Laufe der Jahre habe ich festgestellt, dass die Hütte ein wunderbarer, ruhiger Rückzugsort ist. Traverse City ist in den letzten Jahren enorm gewachsen, aber die Hütte und das Eigentum haben sich überhaupt nicht verändert. Obwohl die Menschen in der gesamten Region weiter bauen, sehen Sie im zeitigen Frühjahr immer noch Gänse und Seetaucher, hören in ruhigen Nächten Eulen und sehen im späten Herbst Rehe im Wasser.

Die Hütte ist ein besonderer Ort. Es ist eine einzigartige Kombination aus einem rustikalen Blockhaus und einem modern eingerichteten Haus auf einem schönen Grundstück in der Nähe einer geschäftigen Traverse City. Bitte erwarten Sie nicht, im Grand Traverse Resort oder im Holiday Inn zu übernachten. Die Hütte hat definitiv einen eigenen Charakter. Nicht alle Fenster haben Bildschirme, die Auffahrt ist nicht asphaltiert, und die Streifenhörnchen begleiten Sie bei Ihrem Morgenkaffee. Aber geben Sie der Kabine ein paar Tage, und ich denke, Sie werden fühlen, was ich fühle, und Sie werden vielleicht ein wenig enttäuscht sein, dass die Zeit so schnell vergeht. Genießen Sie es, während Sie dort sind.

We LOVED staying at Dr. Ed's Cabin!!!! It was everything and more than we ever dreamed of -- private, serene, clean -- and a very special place. It felt like stepping back in time but with all the conveniences of today. We loved watching all the birds at the bird feeder -- woodpeckers, nuthatches, tufted titmouse to name a few, and hearing the loons in the morning was amazing. We hope to get back again next summer -- we live in Bellingham Washington but it's worth the trip -- thank you Dr. Ed for sharing your little slice of heaven with us!

Piece of paradise

The cabin is perfect. Nestled in trees surrounded by a lovely clear quiet lake, birds, squirrels, chipmunks and many trees. All the necessities you may need are included in the cabin. The bed is comfy as is the couch. It was just what we were looking for. Tranquility and the best nature and a kind homeowner can grace us with.

Great location, beautiful scenery, on small inland Lake!

The cabin is really charming, set back on a wooded peninsula right on a small lake. We enjoyed having coffee on the deck, and using the small outdoor fire pit, there is a picnic table and a grill to cook out. Everything was fantastic! It’s a great location with a dog, as there are no nearby neighbors on the peninsula. So the dog could wander and explore the area around the cabin. The interior of the cabin has everything you need, it’s quaint and well kept. Dr. Ed has it stocked with the essentials.

Peaceful Nature

We just returned from a magical 4 nights at The Cabin. The cabin sits on a penisula with water on 3 sides- creating so much privacy and peace. We loved watching all the birds, especially the Pileated Woodpeckers that visited daily. Ed is a great host and check in during our stay to make sure we had what we needed. 4 days was not enough. It was hard to leave this morning and cant wait to return!

Charming cabin with panoramic lake view

The cabin was very well equipped and cozy . We enjoyed relaxing outside by the lake watching the birds and ducks and took the rowboat out with our little dog. Dr Ed went out of his way to check in with us and fill us in on the cabin etc . It is a charming cabin with pretty views of the lake yet close to downtown traverse city. Thank you we did not want to leave :)

Relaxing oasis!

We spent a few nights at "The Cabin" and loved it all. The setting was idyllic and everything was as described. Tons of woodpeckers (even pileated!) and other wildlife. Really appreciated being able to bring the pups who enjoyed it immensely. Thank you for sharing the Cabin with others!

Just What We Needed

This property exceeded our expectations. Upon arrival we immediately felt relaxed. It is very private and comfortable, and although we did venture out a few times to explore the beautiful greater traverse city area, truthfully there is no reason to leave. We plan to return!

Absolutely best experience

We had the most wonderful time. Our dog was recently diagnosed with en enlarged heart. So inorder to vacation we needed to find a pet friendly place. This location was absolutely perfect for our needs, interest, and our dog. It feels like you're in a world of your own. Each way you look you see water. The listing is correct and you make friends with the chipmunks, and enjoy watching the birds feed. The sounds of the wind and the birds fill the air. The vibes and atmosphere help you to feel at home and welcome. We will absolutely be booking again and again. Thank you thank you!!

A Peaceful Up North Oasis

This very clean, well-maintained and well-stocked cabin is the perfect place to enjoy the quiet sounds of nature away from busy Traverse City, though it's only minutes away. We relaxed on the deck, warmed up by the neat gas fireplace and sat by the water watching the fish and the ducks. The home is equipped with everything to make your stay comfortable - spices, ziplock bags, plenty of tissues and TP, soft towels, flickering electric candles for ambience. There is a large TV, books, games, high-speed internet. The lake is quiet with ducks and rowboats rather than jet skies and wake boarders. It truly was a peaceful place and we hope to go back and stay longer in the future.

Ahhhhj.....

This is our 4th time at the cabin, which the 1st year we got married on the deck at the cabin, always makes this a magical place! This is a place to stay when you need to get back to nature and the stillness of life. A place to just be still and take in the beautiful views and nature. Walking trails are just down the road, which are dogs love! Traverse city is a 10 min drive? And the drive even has beautiful views. Go get away and get back to nature!

Perfect fall weekend!

My partner and I stayed at the cabin for my birthday and it couldn't have been better. Ed it so lovely and makes sure you are very prepared for your stay, and the cabin is the perfect spot if you're looking for a place to relax and recharge. We can't wait to come back for a longer trip!

Rustic Gem

The photos don't do this cute cabin justice. The only drawback were the lack of comfortable chairs on the dock/around the fire pit to enjoy. This property is so close to everything yet uniquely private, as it sits out on a peninsula on Chandler Lake. There are neighbors but not on top of you like other lakes. And only 15 minutes to downtown Traverse City. The cabin is quite small but perfect for two + a dog. The owner isn't kidding in his comments that it has nearly everything you could want. Paper products, spices, pots, pans. There's no AC but there are plenty of fans, and the lake breeze made it almost too chilly to even leave the windows open at night. Definitely a do-over! Once the weekend warriors departed, it was amazing how quiet the lake was, maybe a lone kayaker or two, just listening to the loons and other bird life.
