Ein wirklich atemberaubende Villa am Meer mit eigenem Pool. ‚Alto Mare’, der italienische Name der Villa bedeutet ‚Offene See’. Genau gegenüber der Villa, in 320 km Entfernung, befindet sich das italienische Festland. Über dem kleinen, versteckt gelegenen Strand von Alaties (5 Gehminuten) mit seinem fantastisch klaren Wasser (einer der besten Angelplätze auf Kefalonia) und den natürlichen Salzwasserteichen. Angeschmiegt an einen Hügel und umgeben von der üppig-wilden Vegetation Kefalonias, verschmelzen die Grenzen des Anwesens nahtlos mit der unglaublichen Weite der Natur. Die Besitzerin, eine Französin, hat das Haus mit viel Sorgfalt eingerichtet und zeitgenössisches Innendesign im Bauhausstil mit balinesischen Möbeln kombiniert. Die Gartenmöbel sind aus Teakholz bzw. Rattan. Auf der 300m² großen Teakholz-Terrasse genießen Sie fantastische Sonnenuntergänge und absolute Privatsphäre, die den Urlaub zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis machen werden.

Wonderful villa in a wonderful location
We've just spent a week in Villa Altomare and wish we could have stayed another week. The villa was very comfortable with an amazing outdoor area and views to die for! It was the perfect space for 7 adults, allowing you to socialize together but also to find a quiet spot to read your book. Having the bar / restaurant at the end of the road was wonderful (highly recommend) and Fiscardo is a beautiful, picture post card harbour. Catherine, the host, was very helpful and sorted out any issues immediately. The best place we have stayed in Greece - highly recommend!

We spent a week enjoying the elegant house and its stunning views, the small but perfectly shielded beach and the amazing Alati restaurant/bar. For once just trust all the great reviews - it really is that good :-) We were lucky to find a week to rent the house and will surely try again - but book early to get a chance!

It just isn't possible to captivate the villa's stunning atmosphere in pictures or words. The view from the spacious sundeck offers the greatest sunsets imaginable and we already miss the sounds of the lapping waves The location is AMAZING, walking distance (500 m) to the beautiful Alaties Beach and Acqua Alaties Beach restaurant and short drive to Fiskardo. The villa offers everything for a luxurious individual retreat and is also perfectly situated to explore the beautiful kefalonian coastline by car, quad, boat, kayak... Additionally Catherine was the perfect trip advisor, keeping us updated on trip schedules and finding solutions to all our inquiries instantly.

Fabulous Villa in a stunning location
My husband has wanted to stay in this villa for some time, the opportunity finally arose this year and I am pleased to say it did not disappoint. It is equipped to an extremely high level and the interior design is of special note. The outside space is well furnished with plenty of seating to admire that wonderful vista. The villa is beautifully maintained by Catherine's team and Catherine herself is a pleasure to do business with. We were originally only booked for one week however whilst there extended for a further six nights. This should indicate how magical a villa it is! Thank you for sharing your stunning home. Super Relaxing
what a great villa! it has the most fantastic views, you can sit all day just watching the sea, its very calming. The outside space is very comfortable with lots of luxury sunbeds to position yourself on as the sun moves round, lots of different seating and dining options on the terraces as well. The villa is equipped with every convenience you can possibly need and the furnishing are to a very high standard. The beds and pillows are very comfortable , its a great space to be in! The two local restaurants, Aqua on the Beach below is fantastic, lunch , Dinner, Beer and Cocktails and also Odysseus on Jerusalem Beach.

Perfection
We stayed at this amazing villa for a week at the end of May. This was our fifth visit to Kefalonia and this villa has definitely been our favourite. The views are stunning, the outside space is large with comfortable and quality seating. The beds are the most comfortable I have slept in by far. Catherine is an attentive and reliable host and gave us lots of information on the area etc. We would love to return here in the future to sit and drink in the perfect sunset 🌅

Just Perfect Throughout
After nearly a year from booking, Villa Alto Mare turned out to be worth every minute of the wait. We were a group of eight adults, but at no point got under each other's feet in the beautiful and spacious home. Views one could never tire of and a perfect location, so convenient for the beaches and outstanding restaurants at Alaties and Jerusalem and a very short drive to Anti Pata and on to Fiscardo. Catherine was a pleasure to deal with from the enquiry stage all the way to check out. A real source of local knowledge. We cannot thank her enough for sharing her corner of paradise with us. We'll be back.

Fantastic villa!
We stayed in the villa in May with another couple and our 5 month old baby. The villa is absolutely beautiful. The view is stunning and panoramic. The villa faces the sunset which is magical. The pool was gorgeous and cleaned regularly- we just used the larger but there is another pool too which is a sun trap in the mornings. Catherine was an exceptional host who welcomed us and helped us with everything we needed. We had a lot of questions beforehand as it was our first trip with our baby but she replied promptly and thoroughly. A cot bed and highchair were provided as was lots of advice about places to go and shops etc that would help us with a stay with a baby. Inside the villa the furnishings are excellent. The style is one of high design with some beautiful pieces of furniture. The kitchen is well equipt and the BBQ was fantastic and large. There is plenty of space in the villa and on the terraces there are numerous places to sit and relax or to eat. Fiscardo is a short drive away where you will find many excellent restaurants and cocktail bars. Assos is a short drive in the other direction which is a small village with a lovely bay and some more good restaurants. At the bottom of the hill the villa is on is an excellent cocktail bar and beautiful secluded beach. It is close enough to walk down there and back easily.

We both wanted peace and tranquility, spectacular views, yet near to local amenities and local life. Kefalonia is a remarkable island with immense local hospitality and beautiful crystal clear waters, and as a keen diver this is as good as it gets!!!!!!! Catherine is a tremendous host and everything is done to perfection, the villa is spotless and beyond any of your wildest dreams if you don't believe me, try it!!!!!!! My only sorrow is the time it has taken me to write this review (call it getting old), that is why a very content couple who know the best are returning again July 1st 2012 for two glorious weeks, and we can't wait. Heaven On Earth
This has to be the most beautiful place we have ever stayed. 180 degree views, sunsets into the sea, the sound of the waves, the beach in walking distance, the grocery store just a quick drive and beautiful Fiskardo was there when we wanted some life and a break from cooking. Though I might add it was very difficult to actually leave the villa. For us there was nothing more we needed. My husband and I, our 13 year old son and my 69 year old mother were totally happy! Catherine, the owner, made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived and she assisted us in every way. A lot of thought has gone into every item in the house and it is all of the highest standard. We left there feeling totally relaxed and spoilt.

Stunning Villa, stunning views.
If you think Villa Altomare looks good in the photos you should see it in real life! The images simple can't do the incredible panoramic view justice. This villa offers uninterrupted views from the mountains on one side to a huge expanse of blue sea to the dramatic cliffs on the other. If you're looking for the perfect getaway to relax and unwind this must surely be up there as one of the best in Kefalonia. The standard of accommodation was also first class with very tasteful decor and furniture throughout this spacious villa. The only dilemma we had was which pool to use! Every detail appeared to have been considered. The owner made us feel very welcome and had a perfect balance of hands off to let you enjoy the holiday but was extremely helpful when required. You would definitely need a car if you stay here. The nearest village is about 5 km away and the beautiful fishing village of Fiscardo with all its restaurants is also nearby. We found Kefalonia pretty easy to explore with plenty of stunning beaches all around the island. I would definitely recommend this property to friends and family. Simply amazing - we will definitely be back one day.

Amazing Villa in an amazing location!!!
When we were looking for a luxury villa in Kefalonia, Villa Altomare seemed just perfect. On arrival we were amazed by the size and beautiful decor but as it was around 10pm we didnt get to see the views. On walking up the stairs the next morning we only had one word. WOW!!! The views are simply breath taking and we took great pleasure sitting in the outside living space with a glass of wine and just taking in the stunning scenery. The villa itself is spotless, impecably decorated and really spacious. The outside space is really impressive and having two pools meant that we were spoilt for choice, The sun on the lowewr deck early mornings and then all day on the upper deck Catherine the owner the cleaner and the pool man were exceptionally friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. We even had a breakfast hamper on arrival due to the lateness. We will definately be returning and for anyone looking for pure luxery in a quite area with stunning surroundings this is the villa for you!! 5*

A fantastic villa in a fantastic location!
it is a unique, romantic and spacious villa surrounded by the sea and forested mountains with dramatic views of the sunset...The villa is beautifully designed , very clean , very well-maintained, finished to a high standard...The luxury harmoniously combine with the comfort in this chic villa..We had one of our most wonderful holiday and it was truly relaxing...The location is perfect for chilling out, it is very quite location but also so close to Fiscardo which is the best place of the island..Catherine, the owner of the house is a very elegant , helpful and nice lady... We are going for villa holidays for many years and have been in so many beautiful villas in all over Europe but Alto Mare is in top of our list now! Thank you Catherine ! Stunning
Wow, was the first thing that came out of my mouth as I entered the Villa. Simply beautiful.. Catherine (the owner) has exquisite taste, the Villa is very well appointed. The layout of the Villa just flows so nicely from one area to the next..Its all just wonderful. Yanni the pool guy is as nice as can be and very helpful too..The property inside and out is very well maintained. The views from Villa Alto Mar are spectacular, The grocery store in the little village of Manganos is run by a very nice family, we visited it daily.We arrived the end of Aug and stayed for 9 spectacular days, Catherine was a joy and very very helpful We will be back hopfully again and again..I would recomend Vill Alto Mar to everyone..Do not let this one pass you by

An amazing villa
We stayed at Villa Alto Mare at the beginning of September and the whole experience was wonderful. The pictures cannot do this property justice with its amazing 180 degree view of the sea. There are some beautiful touches and styling. We spent many a happy night out on the deck with the wireless ipod dock just eating, drinking and star gazing. The setting is amazing and the villa fully equipped for every eventuality. The pools are very good size as are all the bedrooms.

Peace and Tranquility
Villa Alto Mare was excellent in every respect. In particular the location was spectacular - total peace and tranquility and overlooking the sea on three sides. The owner was extremely helpful and attentive and made us feel very welcome. The layout was great for a large group of guests (we were 9 in total), as there was enough space for everyone to enjoy some privacy if they wanted. The interior was very stylish and yet at the same time much more homely than other rental villas where we have stayed. The owner even offered us her extensive library to read - if only our French had been better!

Summer paradise!
We stayed at Villa Alto Mare one week in September 2010. We where six adults and three children, and all of us loved the place. The interior was very tasteful, and the villa was even nicer than expected - especially the view was breathtaking. It was very good located, with a lovely little beach that was perfect for the children and with a good tavern nearby, and only ten minutes from Fiscardo with car. One evening we had a little birthday party at the villa, and the tavern made all the food for us and it was excellent. The property was very clean and well maintained (lots of towels, toilet paper etc.), and a pool guy cleaned the pools every day. The owner is lovely, and had even bought us breakfast because we arrived very late in the evening. We will recommend this place to everyone we know!

The best villa we've ever rented
We have just returned from a week in Catherine's stunning villa, which is absolutely perfect. The position and view is breathtaking, the overall standard of the villa is so high. There are so many small details that add up to a huge amount of comfort and luxury. Catherine is so incredibly helpful, both before we came out and during our stay. Almost as soon as we arrived we all agreed we would want to come back. If you're considering this villa, don't hesitate, it's fantastic. We loved being in the north of Kephalonia, Fiskardo is lovely and the surrounding beaches have stunning crystal clear water. We will definitely be going back, and recommending this villa to all our friends.

Staying in Alto Mare
I liked very much the excellent service of the property owner...for every question there was a solution. The property was very clean and in good shape. The location is just breathtaking!!! I would recommend this place to friends of mine who are used to high standards and holidays at a quiet place without any disturbance. We mainly stayed at the place, because it is so beautiful, often had our own dinner there...when we went out for dinner we liked to go either to Fiscardo or "Vegera" Restaurant in Vassilikades.We even did not mind the weather changing from hot to rain and wind...we liked to experience the nature.

Alto Mare
We have had many villa holidays througout Europe but this will stay with us as the most stunning villa that we have ever rented. It is very beautfully styled inside and the terraces, pools and outside space are faultless with the most stunning unblemished panoramic views of the sea, cliffs and nearby small beach. We did go at the end of April, beginning of May so the little beach I guess gets busier in high season. We would be struggling to find a way in which the owner could improve the villa, view or experience. We loved nearby Assos and Fiskardo but would also suggest getting lost in the hills and enjoy the views, little hamlets and of course the goats (A car is a must). The owner was fantastic and helpful with ideas, maps, information when we needed it but also respected our privacy. You will not regret choosing this villa if you are looking for a beautiful hideaway with relaxing surroundings and a romantic escape.

Beautiful Villa, beautiful island
The villa is absolutely beautiful,spacious and comfortable,the views stunning. We had a wonderful holiday with four adult children, loved Fiscardo, lovely people and good restaurants. The owner was exceptionally helpful with attentive cleaning staff for villa and pool. Faultless!

I'm French.
I ran a successful restaurant business in Fiscardo from the early 1990s. It took me some time to locate the perfect plot to build my home, but I finally found it and finished building Villa Alto-Mare in 2001.

After selling my small business, I took a break and spent amazing long Summers with family and friends in this exceptional setting. I decided to rent the villa in 2008 and it’s success was immediate. Holidaymakers fell in love with my house and 75% of those who now rent it are returning guests!

I am still able to make the most of my place in the Autumn and early Spring, and in the Summer I live 5 km away on the east coast. I potter around the coves in my little speedboat, and enjoy an excellent quality of life in this magical place. But, to tell you the truth, I do miss my stunning Summer sunsets at Alto Mare…”
